pls give atsushi headcanons plsplsplsplslsplpspslss
I feel like a cat that’s been coaxed out from under the sofa.
Sure.
-Atsushi’s multilingual. Many of the orphanage staff are foreigners that served alongside Japan in the Great War and settled down there after it ended.
And so Atsushi grew up hearing many different languages.
-In the corner of Atsushi’s wardrobe he has gifts and trinkets that the Agency have gifted to him. He treasures them all dearly.
-Atsushi likes to take naps during his break on slow days. Just curls up on the sofa under a patch of sunlight.
-On that, Atsushi struggles to sleep when he’s alone. It’s one of the reasons why Dazai had Kyouka stay with him. He feels safe knowing someone else is there with him.
-Atsushi plays with the longer parts of his hair when he’s nervous.
-Atsushi can’t lie for shit but if he will commit to the bit even if everyone knows he’s lying.
-Atsushi has a really high pain tolerance.
-Atsushi didn’t realise how bad his childhood was until the Agency took on a case getting a mother and her kids away from an abusive father.
He saw himself in their eyes and the headmaster in the fathers.
-Atsushi finds it calming to look at the moon. But he does get afraid to look at it when it’s full. As he’d fall into a trance and transform.
-Atsushi found it physically painful to lose his ability in Dead Apple.
-His most treasured possession is his Agency uniform as it’s the first thing that ever belonged to him.
-Atsushi doesn’t quite recall his parents clearly though he knows what they did to him. But unlike with the orphanage, Atsushi thinks he deserved it.
-His sass and cutthroat comments are partly a defence mechanism because for most of his life it was the only way Atsushi could fight back.
-Atsushi gets nightmares about what happened in 55 minutes and what could’ve happened had he had failed.
-When Atsushi hallucinates the best way for him to ground himself is by having some kind of weight put over on him like a blanket.
Or a coat.
-Atsushi was confused the first time Yosano wanted to give him a check up because no one’s ever cared if he was hurt before.
-Atsushi’s ability being able to reverse damage was often used against him. As kids could hurt him and not get in trouble as there was “no proof” they did anything.
So clearly Atsushi was lying.
-Atsushi would often see an orange cat when he was outside during chores. It kept him company and seemed quite intelligent.
-Atsushi chuffs when he’s happy and is very embarrassed about it.
-It took Atsushi a while to come to terms with the fact he’d killed a man (twice now) even if he knows it had to be done.
-Even after knowing the Agency doesn’t run on a points system, Atsushi mentally assigns points to the tasks he completes. And takes them away when he fails.
-Atsushi still has Akutagawa’s coat in his dorm.
Rooted in my mind
The way it started with Akutagawa hunting Atsushi down and now he’s demanding to have him returned to him.

A second drawing for Atsushis B-day, since I wanted to make both a solo and a kitsunezai dazatsu AU one <3
Concept: Atsushi being multilingual.
The Great War orphaned many kids and so there was a higher need for orphanage staff. Many soilders who had fought with Japan and settled there found work in within these orphanages.
One of them being Atsushi’s.
The staff were cruel and didn’t really care if the kids could understand them or not. And even if they learned Japanese they would often default to their native languages.
Particularly when it came to punishing the kids.
So Atsushi grew up hearing many different languages from staff who were originally from England. Germany, France etc.
With him and the other kids having to learn quickly because saying you didn’t understand ah instruction was not considered a good excuse.
Resulting in Atsushi who was more among the staff than the kids anyway, being able to speak in a variety of different languages.
Perhaps even being better than the rest of the because the staff hated him the most. And also because in the beginning Atsushi thought being more adept at their languages
It did not.
But what they would criticise him for he would then work on which only served to anger them more.
Atsushi would definitely know how to curse someone out with horrifying precision in each language.
I love the idea of as Akutagawa gets more into the light the more Atsushi falls into darkness.
And so Akutagawa will have to save him with the lessons Atsushi taught him.
Well along with seeing Akutagawa’s outlook on things change so has his hair. With the whites at the end blending more into the black of his hair.
And his eyes have been getting lighter, in fact currently (123) we have never seen them been as bright not clear as they are now.
And the while Atsushi’s eyes remain light we’re getting more and more instances of them being shrouded in darkness.
Atsushi really straight up asked Dazai if he's in alright in any number of ways. my guy can you tone down the sass like ever?
Dazai wants attention
