Concept: Atsushi’s “death” but he’s still wearing Akutagawa’s coat.

It shields him away from Fyodor’s harsh gaze as he hits the ground. It wraps around him almost like a blanket.

As if some remnant of Rashomon remains inside thanking him for saving its user.

And so when Atsushi “dies” the coat is the only thing he leaves behind. For he’s gone where Akutagawa cannot follow.

Akutagawa picks up the coat and to his surprise he doesn’t envision it on Dazai. But of the many times he has entrusted it to Atsushi.

He leaves it where it lays.

He doesn’t need it anymore.

Orange cat Atsushi AU

Aka Atsushi is part orange tiger instead of white and thus exhibits orange cat behaviours

Atsushi spends his birthday completely ignoring the actual gifts he was given. To instead play around in a random cardboard box Dazai found outside by the bins.

He did jump like a foot in the air when they yelled surprise. But he did come back down when Kyouka told him Junichiro baked a cake.

Atsushi’s so in awe with everything, looking around the room and the decorations with the biggest widest eyes.

He tried to eat a balloon…several balloons.

Affectionately headbutts everyone in the shoulder in thanks.

Atsushi does end up falling asleep mid way through it nestle inside a large box on the floor beside Dazai and Kyouka

The Agency call it a success.
