you know what hot take but i think nico is actually more like his mother while bianca is more like her father. hades and bianca are both incredibly independent and don’t like the idea of being tied down or having to look after people. bianca joined the hunters to essentially get a break from being a mother to her little brother, but also just to be free of attachment?? honeslty i think attachment and relationships scared her. and really she was kind of isolating herself from her family and regular kids by joining... sort of like how hades hides away in the underworld, away from olympus and his family that he doesn’t get along with nor really wants to be around. whereas maria and nico strike me as needing to be around people and desiring all kinds of relationships. i KNOW nico seems antisocial but if you really read deeper he’s an incredibly loving person and he forms attachments/falls in love incredibly easily. he was in love with percy like the day they met. same thing with will, nico had a crush almost immediately. he loved hazel right away. quickly became attached to reyna. he likes people but his trauma and unhealthy coping mechanisms get in the way of that. also both he and maria are sensitive and care about people that others fail to notice. maria falling in love w the god of death? nico being the only person to talk to hestia? or when he talked to bob? i just have a lot of thoughts about this
