The cringe train just keeps coming. I'm sorry.

She ripped off her white lab coat and moved down the hallway of the life foundation quickly, against the screaming employees running the opposite direction. Away from the roaring and banging coming from the control room. She had hidden her mutation from carlton drake and everyone she worked with for good reason. She has always gotten a horrible vibe from her boss. But she stayed out of fear. Not for her. But her family. And now, now she was needed. She completely ignored the blond woman as she walked passed her to the broken watch tower window, climbing the edge. "Hey!" The woman grabbed her arm. "What are you doing?!" She asked panicked. She looked at her letting her eyes shift purple as her hands began to glow. The woman stepped back in shock. "Stay out of the way." She said and dropped down. Faintly hearing the woman exclaim "oh not you too!" In frustration. She landed on the metal walk way with a loud clang catching the two men's attention as she easily and expertly jumped onto the runway to the launchpad. Carlton hesitated before smiling his signature fake gentle smile. " violet. Call the authorities quickly. Mr Brock here has taken our symbiote and is using it as a weapon." He said trying to look innocent. She stepped forward to allow him to see her glowing purple eyes. His smile faltered. "Violet?" With a quick movement she had his throat trapped in a glowing purple whip. He choked and grabbed at it as he felt to his knees choking out her name in question. "Oh can it you slimy bastard." She pulled tighter as she walked closer past Eddie Brock who watched in frozen shock. She kicked drake over the platform and released the whip. " you always did piss me off." She said over the empty edge before turning and walking back up the ramp. "Come on Brock. Safety third." She said moving past him. "Hey who the hell are you-" he was cut off as the symbiote called riot jumped over the ramp and impaled him with a shard. She growled and allowed herself to be engulfed in a purple flame as he approached. He growled back and jumped off into the air to the rocket. "Fuck!" She yelled. She ran after it leaving Brock on the platform. It was too late for him. She knew realistically she couldn't do anything more. This was a fucking rocket. And her powers only did so much. She was no Jean Grey. She cursed to herself as she watched the rocket began to lift off. It was over. There was nothing else she could do. She shook her head. She should've defected with Dora. She should've protected her and the others. But she didn't. She stayed quiet like a coward and now drake and riot were gonna bring millions of those things back to earth and kill everyone off. And there would be nothing she could do then either. She was frustrated with herself. But as she deflated and turned to walk off in defeat the rocket exploded in a flash of fire and smoke and she found herself yelling as the ground shook, throwing her into the icy waters of the ocean. The last thing she remembered is seeing Brock hit the water not too far from her before she blacked out.

she moved into the store behind Eddie. Him and venom talking about dinner. Which was you guessed it tatertots and chocolate. Which she wrinkled her nose at but then again this was venom. He was weird anyways. The three of them had become close after the events at the life foundation. Venom claimed to like her because of her powers and Eddie said she was nice. Though the blush on his cheeks lately when he spoke compliments to her said otherwise but she kept her mouth shut. She stood in another aisle perusing the snacks as the bell above the door sounded. She ignored it and grabbed a chip bag she had never seen before looking it over. But quickly was distracted by a gruff voice and Mrs Chen pleading with someone. She put the chip bag back and peaked around the corner. A man pointed a gun at Mrs Chen as she opened the register. She looked at Eddie in the next aisle over peeking out too. She shook her head at him and stepped forward. The purple whip appeared in her hand and she lashed out with it. Grabbing onto the man's hand that held the gun. She stepped out. "Does it make you feel hard picking on a little old lady?" She asked tilting her head to the side. "Do you get a rush of power?because personally I think that makes you a pussy." She said releasing the whip. The man glared and turned to her. "What did you just call me puta?" He asked pointing the gun at her now. "I said. You're a pussy." She repeated with a smile. He cocked the gun and took a step forward but quickly froze in fear. She felt the ground shake and grinned when the shadow fell over her. " have you met my friends?" She asked as venom moved forward and grabbed the man. "You come in here again, infact you go anywhere in this city preying on innocent people and we will find you and bite off both of your arms and then both of your legs." The man shook in fear. "No. No." Venom continued. "And then we will eat your face right off your head. Do you understand?" The man shook his head. "Please. Please." "So you will be this armless, legless thing rolling down the street. Like a turd. In the wind. Do you feel me?" The man finally gathered the courage. "What the hell are you?" Half of venoms face rolled back to reveal Eddie. "We are venom." They said simultaneously, Eddie smirking at the end as venoms face covered him again. Venom thought for a second and then announced. "On second thought." He opened his mouth wide, his tongue danced for a moment before devouring the man whole. "Jesus dude." Violet said quietly. Venom retreated into Eddie and he rolled his shoulders as he came back to his own body. "Eddie? Violet? What the hell was that?" She asked shocked. "Oh that, pshhh I got a parasite. Yeah. Night Mrs Chen!" He waved leaving the store. Violet moved after him nonchalantly. "Yeah. Just an extra DNA gene here Mrs Chen! Goodnight!" She said cheerfully. "No! I will not apologize!" Eddie argued with venom. There was a pause before Eddie gave in. "Alright I'm sorry!" She rolled her eyes in amusement. Her boys were endearing.

She pushed the door open to his room slowly and quietly. She could hear his snores. "Dan?" She asked softly. He grumbled and rubbed his eyes. "Another one?" He asked sleepily. She nodded. He sighed and moved over. Lifting the covers to his boxer clad body. "Come on." He said. She closed the door and climbed into the bed next to him. "Now go to sleep. You'll be ok now." She closed her eyes immediately falling back asleep as did he. When Rose was 12 she came to live with Dan and his family from America. Her parents were friends with his parents. They were hit by a drunk driver and killed. And with no where else to go Dans parents took her in with no hesitation. But Rose had been in the car with her parents when they were hit. When the car flipped she was struck with a piece of metal that resulted in the large spinal scar on her back. It had been a miracle that she was alive let alone able to walk. And since then her PTSD had been a rampant part of her life. The nightmares had subsided to rare things as she grew up. But sometimes they struck and she was left awake and in a panic. Dan had always been there for her. The two growing close as he was mostly the one to awake from her screaming. He would sit with her and stay with her when this happened. As they grew up together they grew closer. And while his father thought it was distasteful to have them sharing a bed now at their age, his mother tbought it was sweet Dan cared about Rose. But was it blossoming into something more than just friendly care?

"The French foreign legion? You're leaving me?" She asked disheartened as he sat at his desk sculping another one of his figurines. She was careful not to look down as he was almost always naked as he sculped. He sighed and used a tool to scrape clay off the details. Of the man. "Rose. You'll be ok without me. I know you will." He said not looking at her. She sighed. "Thats not the point is it? What about Keith?" He chewed his gum slowly. "What about him? He'llbe fine wont he?" She set the paper back on his desk. "Not with Andrew bullying and traumatizing him every day." She said. He chuckled. "He needs to stand up for himself. Thats all. Andrews not a big guy now is he?" He said switching tools. "Look. This is something I really want to do. Could you just support me? Because I'm not telling mom and dad. They won't let me leave otherwise." She sighed. "Yes. I'm sorry. I just worry." He looked at her finally with a smile. "You don't need to. I'll be fine. Promise." She nodded and left the room.

She flipped through the book as she leaned against the barn wall. Keith was holding the punching bag for Dan as Dan hit it. She could see keith grimace at every hit. But it was when Dan threw him the padded armor and a mouth guard that she protested. "DAN! no! Thats too far now!" She said. Dan smiled at her. "Oh He'll be fine! Wont ya keith?" Keith nodded hesitatantly. She huffed and said nothing more as the boys began to spar. But when dan hit keith so hard the mouth guard flew out and continued to try to hit she tensed. "Dan..." she warned. But keith took off his gloves and threw them down before shouting at dan and running " fuck you! You stupid fucking idiot!" He went on to shout something else she didn't catch and dan took off after him yelling "ah but it does you little shit!" She sighed and tossed her book down, following after them as they came into the garden where their parents were. Keith picked up a hay fork and pointed it at Dan. "Boys!" Rose tried to reason. Neither one of them turned to look at her. "Stay away from me! Stay away!" Keith swung the hay fork around as they circled eachother. "Steady." Dan muttered. "No! It ends here." Keith replied. "What?" Dan asked. "It ends here!" Keith replied a laugh in his voice. And dan lost his composure laughing. He fell back into the snow laughing and keith held the hay fork to his body ready to strike. "Steady!" Keith let out a yell and pointed the fork down at Dan. "Be very sure! Be very sure you can pay the bill!" Keith let out a frustrated yell and threw the fork. Dan then pulled keith down into the snow and held him in an arm bar while reciting something in French. She rolled her eyes.

They walked home and passed Andrew sitting on the bench. Keith stopped and smirked. Turning to andrew. "What did you say?" He asked. Andrew looked up. "Didn't say nothing." He said honestly. "Hey." Dan said stepping beside keith. "Never said nothing." Andrew said again. Keith smirked and patted Dan on the back and kept walking. Dan stared into andrew "would you like a terror?" He asked and spit to the side.

He then gave andrew a threatening smile. Rose yanked Dans backpack making him stumble as Andrew got up and picked up his sled, moving to leave. "Stop it. Come on." She said. He looked at her and sighed. "Alright. Come on then." He began walking with her again.

As they sat at the dinner table Dan reached his hand into the peas and grabbed a handful. His mother slapped him on the hand with the spoon. "Use the spoon Daniel. Thats why its there" she said and passed him the spoon. She was glad she didn't like peas. "Piss off." Dan muttered under his breath. But his mother heard it. "Did you-? If you swear one more time.." she said and sat back down. "Sorry." He muttered. Rose kicked his shin under the table and he turned and glared at her. "Youre going skiing?" His dad said. "Yeah." He said quietly. " don't seem very well prepared." His dad said. "Have you got insurance?" His mothet asked. He laughed. "Yeah right." He then brought the spoon to his mouth. "You won't think it funny if you get helicoptered off a mountain and you have to pay for it." His mother said. Keith began mouthing the words his dad said. "Prior planning and preparation prevents...piss poor performance." Rose cringed. She didn't like the way his dad treated him. Like he was a disappointed. Like he was better than Dan. But she kept quiet because it wasn't her place. She ate silently. Dan closed his eyes momentarily. Before keith stood and reached for a roll. "Where abouts are you going skiing?" Before Rose could act, Dans spoon made harsh and hard commection to Keith's spine and he fell back letting out a yell of pain. He took off up the stairs and his mother splashed Dan with the water jug and gave him a glare before following after him. Rose closed her eyes and sighed. Her plate was now ruined and her shirt was wet from sitting next to dan when he was splashed. It was quiet for a moment as dan ate peas one at a time with his fingers. Before his dad looked at him with a condescending smile. "You reall think youre a hard man don't you? Youre not a hard man. I've met hard men. And youre not one of them." He said sternly. Rose rolled her eyes and stood up, throwing her napkin on her plate and moving up the stairs towards keiths room. She couldn't stand being in that man's presence when he got into one of his moods.

There was a knock on the door and Dans goofy voice from through it. "Barky....im sorry...." she rolled her eyes. "He really sucks at Scooby-Doo you know that?" She whispered to keith who gave a slight smile but said nothing. There was another knock before the door opened and Dan entered, closing the door behind him.. Looking at the two of them he sat next to keith on the bed. "Fuck off you fucking psychopath. You nearly broke my back. Kt really FUCKING hurt me!" Keith said. His voice wavering ad he was clearly upset. "I thought you were trying to tell them." Dan said softly. Keith rolled over and yelled. "No i fucking wasn't! I was trying to help!" Dan reached out and touched him. "Dont cry." Keith slapped his hand away. "I reckon the only reason you don't want mom and dad to know id because you don't have the GUTS to join. You know, I hope you get there and some really hard fucker kicks the shit out of you! So you have to come home crying with your tail between your legs!" He yelled at Dan who just nodded. Keith then sat up "you need to tell them. And if you don't...I will." Keith left the room and Rose sighed. She got up from her chair and moved to leave as well. "Hes right. You should." She said. He looked at her but said nothing.

She leaned out of her room as she heard him moving down the hall. "Youre going now?" She whispered in disbelief. He whirled around to her. "No better time than the present." He shrugged. She stepped infront of him. "You weren't even gonna say goodbye?" She asked crossing her arms. He shook his head. "Caused too much trouble already." He muttered. She sighed. "Do you really want to do this?" He nodded. "Yes. I do." She let her arms drop. "Then I can't stop you. But please. Remember your promise to be careful." She begged. He smiled. "I will. Ill be home before long. Ain't like they'll station me somewhere as a newbie huh?" He encouraged. "You better be right." She said. He nodded. "I have to go now." He said. She closed her eyes. "Goodbye then." She nodded. He turned to walk away. "Dan! Wait!" She whisper yelled. He turned confused but was met with her lips upon his. He smiled into the kiss and pulled away. "Well, now o have to return dont I?" He smirked. She slapped his arm. "Go before your dad wakes or God forbid your mom. Youll never hear the end of it. And be careful!" She said. He moved down the hallway and gave her a salute. "Yes ma'am." She rolled her eyes and went back into her room to sleep the rest of the morning away.

Keith barged into her room and she opened her eyes with a groan. "Hes gone." He said. "Yes I know. Caught him sneaking out last night." He snorted. "Moms in a tizzy. Dads indifferent." He said sitting by her desk. "Did you tell them?" She asked sleepily. "Had to didnt I? He left all his stuff. He clearly wasn't going skiing." She groaned again. "Great. And we get to deal with the aftermath. " he nodded. She sighed and looked at the light from the window. "He said he will be back at some point. I guess that's all we have to look forward to." She said with a blush remembering the kiss. Keith spotted it and smirked. "About time. Maybe he will hurry back faster then." He said getting up to leave. "And don't worry. I won't tell THAT secret to anyone." He snorted and left. "You better not!" She called after him. She laid back down and sighed looking at the ceiling. Dan better come back soon. She couldnt wait to see the look on his dads face when he came back a member of the French foreign legion. Oh God the satisfaction she will feel that he will have to eat his words. But more importantly he better come back so they could go on a date or something. You can't just kiss someone and leave it hanging like that. She sighed again and closed her eyes. He will come back. She knew it.
