There are many misconceptions regarding beauty. People think that it is only what is pleasing to the eye, however, they couldn't be more wrong.
Beauty is the good that leads us to truth, no matter what form it may take.
I often ponder
As to whether the stars
Tire of burning
Too?
Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.
Charles R. Swindoll
I didn't want to be in love
You caught me by surprise
But I'm a coward, so in fear
I smothered you with lies
I tried to catch the cosmos
In a little jar
But found it far too quick
For me
To reach any of the stars
There was so much more
That i should have said
So i look at the sky
And scream to the stars
The words that would've
Made you stay
No mercy or kindness to be found
A horrible life to live
He asked for an extra cookie
Yet no cookie would they give
The boy wanted to color
The warden said, “Not today”
He wanted to leave, to escape
Just to go home and play
The inmates there were never kind
They stole snacks from him
And in the yard they played hide-n-seek
But he never seemed to win
Then after that, came naptime
A torture fit for hell
They forced him into unconsciousness
With music like a spell
He eagerly awaited the deafening ring
That called for his release
Then he would be at home again
Finally, at peace
I'm a melancholic alcoholic
With a tendency for feeling nauseous
Too much love, too much drink
Provides a space for me to think
But my thoughts flee my mind
As quick as they had come
And I am left alone
With my heart feeling numb
When did every love song
Become about us?
Each smile
Each tear
Each softspoken word
Drives me mad
You are the melody
And the harmony
You are the song in my head
I just have to wonder
Am i your everything
Too?
Your shoulders are littered
With meaningless tatoos
Inky reminders
That cannot be removed
So here is new mistake
For you to wear around
And maybe it will mean something
When i am nowhere to be found
she carries
her poetry
like her love
on the tip of her tongue
