He is turned to the viewer, visibly crying, but most of him is obscured by the man holding his cheeks, looking him in the eyes, mouth sligtly agape in an attempt to find words, holding the man's shoulders.

Both of them are stood in the cabin of a ship, loosely implied within the background with some crates, a stairway to the deck, and nautical windows being visible behind the pair.

The painting is made with broad painterly strokes, and a colour pallet of pink-ish red and blue, a red light behind the human man, and blue light coming from the stairwell behind the elf. The colours evoke a feeling of coldness, but brightness and energy, even if combative or otherwise not ideal. But there is a potential for warmth there.
