कबीर, पहले अपने धर्म को, भली भांति सिखलाय। अन्य धर्म की सीख सुनि, भटकि बाल बुद्धि जाय।। भावार्थ:- बच्चों को या परिवार के अन्य सदस्यों को पहले अपने धर्म का ज्ञान पूर्ण रूप से कराना चाहिए। जिनको अपने धर्म यानि धार्मिक क्रियाओं का ज्ञान नहीं, वह बालक जैसी बुद्धि का होता है। वे अन्य धर्म पंथ की शिक्षा सुनकर भटक जाते हैं। जिनको अपने धर्म (पंथ) का सम्पूर्ण ज्ञान है, वह भ्रमित नहीं होता।

कबीर, जो धन पाय न धर्म करत, नाहीं सद् व्यौहार। सो प्रभु के चोर हैं, फिरते मारो मार।। भावार्थ:- जो धन परमात्मा ने मानव को दिया है, उसमें से जो दान नहीं करते और न अच्छा आचरण करते हैं, वे परमात्मा के चोर हैं जो माया जोड़ने की धुन में मारे-मारे फिरते हैं। संत गरीबदास जी ने भी कहा है कि:- जिन हर की चोरी करी और गए राम गुण भूल। ते विधना बागुल किए, रहे ऊर्ध मुख झूल।। यही प्रमाण गीता अध्याय 3 श्लोक 10 से 13 में कहा है कि जो धर्म-कर्म नहीं करते, जो परमात्मा द्वारा दिए धन से दान आदि धर्म कार्य नहीं करते, वे तो चोर हैं। वे तो अपना शरीर पोषण के लिए ही अन्न पकाते हैं। धर्म में नहीं लगाते, वे तो पाप ही खाते हैं।
