You were shy quiet and very nerdy at least that’s what most people thought. But Duff knew the real you and he loved you. You met Duff in 7th grade and soon became best friends. Duff showed you how to have fun and not be so stressed. You and Duff started dating senior year when you were both 18. You were on track to graduate with honors and go to a good college. But one day Duff told you he’s leaving and going to LA to follow his dream of being a rockstar. You don’t know why or how but you decided to come with him you were in love and nothing mattered but him. You both dropped out of school and ran away together. Everyone who knew you was shocked but you didn’t care what they thought. You and Duff had lived in LA for 3 years now. Duff hadn’t had his big break yet but you were able to find a job to support you guys for the time being. You felt insecure though you saw these LA girls they were flashy and punk and beautiful you weren’t quite that confident to dress like that. But now Duff was in a new band they called themselves “Guns N’Roses” Duff told you this was the band that would get big and you believed him. You had met all the guys and seen them rehearse they were really something else you knew they would go far and tonight would be their first gig together. “I gotta head to sound check babe” Duff said kissing you on the top of your head and running out the door. “Ok see you at 8” you yelled as he was leaving. It was 6 right now that gave you 2 hours to get ready. Tonight you wouldn’t be so nervous about what people thought tonight you planned to go all out full glam if you were gonna be Duffs rockstar girlfriend you wanted to look the part. You went to the bathroom you put on a new outfit you had bought it was a short black skirt a tight leather black tank top and a black leather jacket to wear on top of it. You usually wore minimal makeup but today you but on eyeshadow, eye liner, and mascara. You decided to just curl your hair for tonight. When you looked in the mirror you hardly recognized yourself. You looked like the girls you saw at the bars around LA you looked hot you felt hot you couldn’t wait to show Duff and have him show you off to the guys.

You knocked on the door at the back entrance of the bar there was a sign that read BAND IN SESSION DO NOT ENTER you ignored the sign though that’s what Duff told you to do anyway. Slash answered the door. “Hey your not su-damn” “y/n you look different like damn” Slash said looking you up and down. “Thank you Slash” you said smirking. You saw Duff come up and stand behind him Duff cleared his throat as a sign to tell Slash to go away and stop checking you out. “Oh right yeah uh Duff your girlfriends here” Slash said and then walking away to leave you two alone. Duffs eyes got wide when he saw you. “Y/n- I’ve never seen you dress like this” Duff said checking you out and smirking every so often. “You like it?” You asked looking up at him. “Like it sweetheart I love it.” Duff said. You blushed. “You didn’t have to get all dressed up for me though you know” Duff said. You pulled out a cigarette. Axl now walked past you two. “Y/n you smoke?” He asked. “Yeah maybe I do” you said inhaling the smoke but doing it wrong because you really needed to cough and it felt disgusting. Axl just smiled and kept walking. “Since when?” Duff said trying to reach the cigarette out of your hand but you pulled it away. “Since now babe” you said to him. “Ok sure” he said a little annoyed. It was now almost time for the boys to go on stage. You were sitting on Duffs lap. “Alright babe I gotta go out there” Duff said. “Knock em dead baby” you said “kiss for good luck?” Duff asked. You kissed him and the pulled away but Duff whispered. “You should dress like this more often doll” you smirked. He grabbed the box of cigarettes out of your jacket pocket. “No more of these though” he said. “Good I don’t like them anyway” you said laughing. Duff smiled and went to get on stage. You guys stood quiet for a few mins. “Thanks for listening about my snakes some chicks get all freaked out around them” he said chuckling. You laughed “I think they are cool pets they’re unique everyone has dogs or cats that’s boring” you said. Axls Elton John record spun around on your record player as you cooked spaghetti in the kitchen for you and Axl. Axl was up in bed sleeping though he had stayed up last night trying to write a song when you went up to bed he was hunched over the piano scribbling things in a note book. Axl never really had a good sleep schedule so you let him rest. Bennie and the Jets was playing that was one of Axls favorites you smiled thinking about him. The spaghetti was ready and you decided to go up to your room to see if Axl was awake for dinner or if you should let him sleep and warm it up for him when he woke up. You went upstairs and got to your bedroom door you could hear sobbing. It was hard and heavy and you knew it was Axl. Axl had a lot of trauma from his childhood and he had begun therapy which was good but at the same time bad because it really made him face his past and problems and it brought back bad memories that made him spiral sometimes. You knocked on the door “Axl are you ok?” You said really worried about him. You got no response but could still hear him crying you decided to go in. And there he was sitting on the side of the bed his face in his hands sobbing his hair all in his face and he was crying. It was hard to see him like this but being his wife this wasn’t the first time you’d seen him like this in fact you were probably the only person he was the most open with about his feelings. You sat down on the bed next to him. He didn’t acknowledge you. You put an arm around him and put your head on his shoulder and moved his hair out of his face. “Sweetie what’s wrong?” You asked calmly. Axl sobbed harder and gave you no response. You sat there holding him for a little while. “I’m here for you Axl ” you said stroking his hair. He moved his face away from his hands his eyes were red and puffy his face was wet from tears and snot was running down his nose and his voice that was usually deep and confident was now shaky and desperate. “Just go away y/n I don’t feel like talking” he snapped at you and then going back to crying and hiding his face.

You didn’t want to push his limits if he needed time to cry you needed to let him even though all you wanted to do was hold him and tell him he can talk to you, you wanted to take all his pain away but instead you got up. “Ok” you said walking out of the room and shutting the door. You decided to give him some time and go back and try to talk to him later. You ate your dinner by yourself and played music but it felt empty without Axl you had to admit. Once you finished eating you went back upstairs to check on Axl. When you walked into your room Axl was no longer crying but was now laying on his back looking up at the ceiling. “Hey baby” you said sitting down on the bed. Axl didn’t respond his face was blank and few tears still streamed down his face. You started gently rubbing his knee he didn’t say anything. This went on for a few minutes then you stopped rubbing his leg and sighed. “Don’t stop it feels nice” Axl said his voice still a bit shaky from crying. “Ok” you said going back to doing it Axl then sat up and grabbed your hand. “I had a bad dream that’s all” he said. “I’m sorry babe it’s not real though” you said kissing his cheek. “Yeah it was just one of those were I’m a kid again and you know my dad and then and it’s you know” he said his voice breaking a little and tears rolling down his cheek which you wiped away. “I won’t go into detail but it just feels so real and scary y/n I just why y/n why” Axl pleaded tearing up again. You hugged him tighter wishing you could take the pain away from him“I know Axl but he’s gone now and I won’t let anyone hurt you ever again” you said squeezing his hand. “Just why y/n just why maybe if none of that happened I wouldn’t be so damn messed up” Axl said looking you in the face finally. “I’m proud of you Axl look at all you’ve overcame even if you have that baggage your still amazing and your a great husband to me” you said trying to cheer him up. He smiled finally. “The press doesn’t think so” Axl said. “Fuck the press they just make shit up to sell stuff” you said. Axl laughed. “I don’t care what’s happened to you before Axl I know who you are and I love you and I won’t let anything bad happen ok I’ll always be here for you” you said.

A tear rolled down Axls cheek and he smiled you moved his hair and kissed him. “I’d be dead without you know that right babe” Axl said looking down at your intertwined fingers. You laughed “i know that’s why I’m glad we found each other “ you said smiling. “Me too no one else would deal with my crazy shit” Axl said. “Are you ok now?” you asked. “Yeah for now” Axl said. “Wanna take a shower together?” You asked knowing it would make him feel better. “Of course I do” Axl said scooping you up bridal style and carrying you into the bathroom.

You were happy though to have a lazy day so you sat in your bed in your pjs cuddled up with a book reading. It was the middle of the day and softly raining outside. It was literally the perfect day. As you sat there relaxing a very annoyed Axl came walking into your shared bedroom and fell onto the bed now laying there staring up at the ceiling. “I’m boreddddd” Axl said in a very fussy little kid way. “Hi bored I’m y/n” you said not even bothering to look up from your book. “Ha Ha Ha you should be a comedian you know” Axl said in a very sarcastic way. You didn’t reply just continued to read. “Sugar talkkkk to meeee” Axl said. You sat down your book “Ok what do you want to talk about?” You asked. “I don’t know” Axl said. “Ok tell me when you do” you said picking up your book again. Axl now laid quiet for a few minutes. “I want to marry you” Axl said. Now that really made you set down your book. “I’d like to marry you too someday babe” you said. “No not someday y/n today we should get married today.” Axl said. “Axl are you crazy we can’t today” you said thinking Axl was crazy to think you guys could just up and get married right now today. “Why not? Not like we have anything better to do.” Axl said. “Yeah but Axl what about my parents and the rest of my family and what about a dress and a big fancy party and-“ you continued to list off reasons why you guys couldn’t just get married today before Axl cut you off. “Oh fuck all that I just want to get married to you babe” Axl said now getting up and walking over to the window and opening the curtains “See y/n and it’s raining that’s good luck on a wedding day come one babe it’d be a fun story to tell our kids wouldn’t it.” Axl said smiling at you. You laughed he made a good case but you didn’t want to just get married at the courthouse you wanted a dress and a nice ceremony and a fancy party. “I’m sorry Axl but if we get married I want to do it right” you said. He looked a little disappointed. “I know babe I’m just-“ Axl stopped mid sentence. “I just remembered something I’m gonna go do something ok babe?” Axl said very happily . “Um ok” you said confused how one minute he was sad and now happy. “Ok I’ll be back in a little bit love you” he said practically skipping out of your room. “Ok love you too?” You said shaking your head and going back to reading you knew Axl was weird but man sometimes the guy really confused you. You could hear him on the phone with someone “Thank you so much seriously alright yeah I’ll tell her and thanks again, yes I’ll make sure to tell her to call you guys ok yes bye now” Axl said. A few hours later you got a knock on the door. You answered it only to see Duff. “Duff?” “What are you doing here?” You asked. He seemed very smiley and happy. “Just come with me y/n he said grabbing your arm and pulling you out of the apartment door way. Duff lead you up a ton of stairs. “Duff I’m sorry but where the fuck are we going” Duff laughed. “You’ll see you’ll see geez have a little patience” You guys now reached a door that lead to the roof. “The roof?” You asked. “Just cmon” Duff said. You both went through door. And that’s where you saw it a line of rose pedals and candles that lead you to Axl. Axl who was standing there holding something behind his back Axl looked nervous super nervous. You stood frozen knowing what was going to happen and so overwhelmed. “Go on” Duff said pushing you a little. You walked down the path or rose pedals leading you to Axl. It was beautiful everything was beautiful. When you reached Axl he immediately got down on one knee. And pulled out a little black box that had a huge Diamond ring in it “ Y/n I’ve never met anyone like you before, before I met you I didn’t know what love was you’ve been there for me through thick and thin you’ve made me a better person your the love of my life and I want to spend every minute with you your smile and beauty light up my world your my muse of every love song your my soulmate I love you y/n” Axl took a deep breath tears were streaming down your face “so y/n l/n will you marry me?” Axl asked now tearing up too. “O-of course Axl yes oh my goodness yes Axl” you said and Axl slipped the ring on your finger jumped up picked you up spun you around and kissed not to mention it was still raining everything was literally right out of a movie. Axl set you down and and held your hand up in the air “ SHE SAID YES GUYS” and with that Duff walked up and Slash Izzy, and Steven all also walked out. They all congratulated you and you were too happy nothing seemed real. You guys decided to go back inside though due to the rain. “Axl?” “Yes princess?” he said. “Did you have to propose to me while I’m in my pjs though” you said laughing. Axl started laughing too. “Oh by the way I called your parents and got their blessing” Axl said in a happy tone. It was one of those nights were you just wanted to stay in and rest but you also wanted to do something. “You should let me braid your hair.” You said sitting up. Axl laughed “Yeah not happening sugar” Axl said. But whyyy nottt” you said pouting. “Because I’ll look stupid” Axl said. “No you won’t it’ll be cute” you said pleading. “No y/n” Axl said waving his finger at you. You gave him puppy eyes and a pouty lip. Axl rolled his eyes and sat up. “Ugh fine y/n” he said. “Yay!! I promise it’ll look good” you said jumping up and running to the bathroom to grab hair ties. “You’re Lucky you’re pretty you know that right” Axl said as you ran to the bathroom. You ran back and sat behind Axl so you could start braiding his hair. You decided to do two French braids. You started and you must’ve pulled his hair a little because he groaned at you “fuck y/n be gentle” “ sorry babe” you said kissing his cheek. You gave him a little scalp massage which he definitely liked but was to proud to admit it. There was a knock at the door but only Axl heard it you slept through it. Axl got outta bed and went to the door to answer it he was barley awake though and forgot that his hair was still braided. When he opened the door he saw Slash. “Hey man- wait dude what did you to do your hair?” Slash said starting to laugh. “What” a groggy Axl answered he then turned around and saw you now standing in the hallway who was also giggling. “You really didn’t wake me up to tell me to take these out” Axl said to you annoyed. “I didn’t wanna mess up your beauty sleep” you said grinning “You know I must really love you to let you do this dumb stuff to me” Axl said laughing. “Yeah I guess you really do” you said blushing and smiling up at him.
