god. white adjacent poc who defend racism drive me b@tshit! my dude, the whites dont actually want you, so why are you doggedly attempting to earn approval points by telling them that appropriation is kool, fun, and completely ok? do you honestly think that by surrendering an aspect of your culture to white appropriation, that you’ll attain some manner of magical immunity to racism and violence when the supremacists come knocking at your door, because you defended them and told them it was ok to steal and disrespect cultural practices and symbols? 

also, who tf died and made you the token spokesperson for an entire marginalized culture? (esp. with things that are shared between cultures that have historically overlapped and mingled – it isn’t really your place as an individual to give permission to white people to appropriate smth.! if it isn’t from your culture (or entirely from your culture alone) or the same thing/something very similar belongs to neighboring cultures (possibly as a product of historical interaction and cultural overlap, like e.g. henna,  or maybe the wearing of feathers in a specific manner amongst various indigenous groups  (all for different purposes but it isn’t the place of one person to sign over Permission for whites to wear ceremonial headdresses of that type), then it isn’t something that you alone can actively “give away” to white people. 

white adjacent poc who defend the actions of whites who are guilty of cultural appropriation are the reason that marginalized identities are literally made into halloween costumes and fashion accessories. 

this also contributes to the idea that poc aren’t as worthy to be white equals; like we have to “earn our place” by actively giving/surrendering to white people something of ours for them to use/benefit from (and this leads to white artists using sacred/culturally-specific imagery and profiting off it immensely, while creators from that very culture get approximately nothing) which is also not a good look bc we shouldn’t have to “earn” equality as it’s a basic fucking human right but ok 

i understand that in some cases, this is driven by a desire for representation and to be seen/appreciated by white people, but this isn’t the correct route to be taking, here. if you want to share your culture, how abt finding somebody who, idk, actually fucking respects and genuinely appreciates both you and said culture first? idk man just a Thought

I wanted to let everyone (especially young girls 13-17) on tumblr know, to not talk to this man. His @ is @tcr20 and his snapchat is @/samwor2019 . (Both his snapchat and tumblr are deleted, he got a second account on tumblr @tcr2000 ) His name is Sam John Worthing, but it could be that he lied about that. He is 25 years old and 5’7. ( he lies ab his height, he told me he was 6ft) He lives in Kent, London. He is disgusting. A few months ago i got a message from him, we started talking. Im not a naive person at all, so i was very very careful. But he is very manipulative. He said that he liked me and that he felt a connection to me, after a few months i liked him too. He eventually also said that he loved me and that he thought we were soulmates. We often talked about growing old together and we had a lot of deep conversations. We eventually even had a relationship, but we didn’t want to make it official untill we met (and which we didn’t). He lied about all of that. I was always suspicious of him but eventually i trusted him. He told me that he didn’t talk to other girls, because he liked me. But he does. A few days ago a friend of mine decited to text him (to test him) , she said “hii“ and he responded with “Hey sweetie how are you x“. She is 15! He told me he deleted tumblr. And it all clicked, he was grooming me and probably also other girls. This may seem like no big deal, but he told me he had deleted tumblr and when i confronted him about this he kept denying, even tho i had a screenshot of the conversation between him and the 15 year old. So what im trying to say is, that he is a groomer, and im trying to warn other girls. So i hope i can save some innocent girl from getting hurt by this pedophile. If anyone wants to talk about this man, about grooming in general or just wants proof/more information, my dm’s are open. (btw im 16)

Update: He also had a relationship with a 14 year old girl this entire time, they even planned to meet and he wanted to have sex with her. He even wanted to record it! He also send her nudes and said sexual things to her. Multiple other girls have also come forward and said that this man messaged them.

Tumblr I need your help

My best friend’s crappy boyfriend got her pregnant.

This wasn’t consensual at all. He slipped the condom off during sex when she wasn’t looking, and dumped her after he heard the news.

She needs an abortion, but her parents are strictly pro life and won’t help her. She’s about a few weeks in, and I don’t want her to drop out of school because of the negative feedback she’ll get. It’s bad enough that she already gets anxiety attacks from stress.
