I've talked about it before but we need more beast keeping peak shen yuan au where he is as terrifying as he is sweet.
I want him to take a bunch of juniors on a night hunt and see a little fluffy animal and go "listen up, that's an invasive species! Whenever we see these we have to do this-" and then he traumatizes them by reducing it to a bloody mess.
He sees a hungry cub whining helplessly and goes oh poor thing I'll find you some food... then he returns covered in gore and drops dripping raw meat in front of it. He looks at his fellow disciples and says "what? It's carnivorous."
Older disciples LOVE watching new students follow shen yuan around like lovestruck ducklings when they first join the peak... then they go on a mission together and come back shaking going "what the fuck was that." It's a rite of passage
you guys ever think about the fact that charlie and neil probably barely talked in the summer. that they were best friends but neil, or both of them, were just so busy over the summer that they barely talked. that charlie, or both of them, were so worried on the first day of school every year that they weren’t going to be close anymore because they hadn’t talked. and then they get to welton and it’s like no time has passed because they’re not best friends. they’re brothers.

no see the thing about jason & dick is that they have too much between them. they have too many complications for people who never really had the chance to know each other. that's your little brother, one of your biggest regrets. that's your big brother, the most unfamiliar warmth you have ever experienced. that's your little wing. that's the boy you saw swinging around once and thought "he's the most amazing thing I have ever seen". do you understand. do you. realise. there's miles upon miles of unspeakable grief and they have no way to go about it because they carry their blood in their mouth and yearning in their ribcages and they're too stubborn to say anything or reach out and yet too attached to what could have been to let go and they don't want to admit it but they keep coming back because that's my brother that's my brother that's my brother that's my brother
fanon vs canon dick grayson is like if someone from the dc universe only knew dick grayson through other people's descriptions of him like they'd see everyone get starry eyed thinking about him and hear "oh yeah he's super awesome and he's friends with everyone and you can always rely on him to take care of everyone!!" and they think "wow he's probably great but also probably overrated and kind of a tool" then they actually meet the guy and realize that he is a way too intense dude who is very obviously running on two hours of sleep, repressing astronomical levels of trauma, and also more than a bit of an asshole but also, inexplicably, you actually get why everyone is half in love with him
Sometimes the fact that they were teenagers just hits me like a fucking truck. Like, particularly the fab five. The realistics of child sidekicks are very much something you need to kinda ignore in order to read comics, but sometimes you think about it. They were children. And sure, there were generations after them, but they had help, they had support, they had the fab five and the other first generation Titans as a guideline, to help them. But the fab five only had each other. Their mentors couldn't understand, sure they were heroes too but there's absolutely a difference between an adult hero and a teenager. They were kids.
Sometimes I like to sit and wonder what the whole like Wei Wuxian drama was like for Nie Huaisang
We obviously don't see them interact much after Cloud Resseces but I personally like to head cannon them as best friends also he convinces Mo Xuanyu to sacrifice himself to bring Wei Wuxian back so at the very least he trusted Wei Wuxian's abilities
How do you think he felt as the hatred of Wei Wuxian started to grow.
Do you think he knew of the plans to besiege the Burial Mounds and kill everyone there including Wei Wuxian?
If he did do you think he tried to convince his brother not to go or at least not to kill Wei Wuxian?
I can't imagine how that could have been for him whether he and Wei Wuxian were close at the time or not.
In my mind, when Nie Huaisang found out about the hatred for Wei Wuxian he wasn't surprised but would look back at the memories from Cloud Resseces and be like "Wei bro? My Wei bro? The one who taught me how to fish with my hands in the pond behind Cloud Resseces and bought porn from me Wei bro?"
And while he wouldn't say anything out loud when people like his brother or the other clan leaders mentioned how they hated Wei Wuxian he would curse them out in his head or something.
Also in my mind, Nie Mingjue's participation in Wei Wuxian's death is one of the only things Huisang could never forgive his brother for until the day of his death.
I love Nie Huaisang both as a clueless head shaker and as a scheming mastermind.
Live, Laugh, Nie Huaisang!!
"I kept quiet so I could keep you" newt I know that's you
Please i need people to understand that the tragedy of robins is that their parents did love them.
Dick’s parents love him they didn’t want to leave him. Jason’s parents loved him, they didn’t want to be trapped in poverty and crime. Steph’s mother loved her, she didn’t think Steph would get caught up in her husband’s schemes. Tim’s parents loved him, they never meant for him to be as alone as he was. Cass’s father loved her, he wanted her to be as strong as she could be. Damian’s mother loved him, she was raising him in impossible circumstances. Duke’s parents loved him, they never planned to get caught up in the attack.
And yes, these situations are different. Duke and Dick’s parents were good people, Steph mom and Jason’s dad are sometimes depicted as abusive but at other times shown to be struggling with their circumstances. Tim’s parents and Damian’s mom were good people who should never have been parents. Cass’s dad was a bad person who shouldn’t have been a parent. With Cass, there ended up being abuse, and with Damian too because one way or another Talia or the league’s training and general way of life would’ve harmed Damian, and some depictions of Tim’s parents imply severe neglect. But deep beneath that, despite the circumstances and even the failure of the people themselves, they did love their children, and were trying in their own way.
Just like Bruce loves his children, and why I’m sort of against the terrible father depiction. Because I think he’s traumatized and his knowledge of parenting would give him a poor subconscious fathering ability, but CONSCIOUSLY he loves his children, and he would try. That’s the difference. All the robins were loved, but they all lost their parents anyway. And they all will be loved again, because even is he fails, Bruce loves them too, and he is trying to do right by them. He’s trying to make sure none of their stories are tragedies.
context (from here):
apparently, recently(?) on douyin, a housewife posted about her husband's unhinged reaction after she ate the last 2 swiss rolls out of a box of 8 when her husband and 2 kids had already eaten all the other swiss rolls. the husband's unreasonable response naturally outraged cnetizens. thus, one recent(?) douyin trend has been for women to ask their boyfriends/husbands the following, and then to record the answer: suppose that we get married and have two kids, and then obtain a box of swiss rolls, how should we split them?
anyways here are some of the provided responses from OP's post, put through the SVSSS filter (sorry OP):
