every time a black writer on here gets a message asking them (or really demanding them) to write white readers, i just think about that interview toni morrison did that one time where the interviewer asked if she’ll ever write about white people in a substantial way and the way she just said to them “you can’t even begin to understand the racism of that question” or something along those lines. fandom in general, and fic in particular, has alienated black, and poc overall, readers since day one and for all the posts about diversity in fanfic that circulate on here, i never see anons holding their faves who write white readers accountable for more diversity. instead, you accost black writers making a space for themselves to make room for you. you who can suspend all disbelief to read about readers who are assassins and mutants, but can’t change or ignore features in a poc reader fic so you don’t feel “uncomfortable” (which, by the way, is an issue in and of itself). black people are allowed to tell stories that include us explicitly. full stop. and no one is asking you to read those stories if you don’t want to. coming into black/poc writers’ spaces to tell them they can’t include themselves in the fanfic world is racist point blank and you will never have any legs to stand on in that argument. so just… shut up. stay on blogs that cater to you and leave us alone lmaooo

Hello everyone! In honor of 7K, I wanted to host a little challenge. I know we all often dream about a lot of things—having more money, having a better job, not having to have a job, better car, bigger house, finding the one—but what if you got it, and it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be?

What if you got it, and it caused you nothing but misery?

I present to you: The Monkey’s Paw challenge; where we take fluff prompts and turn them dark and gritty.

The options: You message me, and I think up a prompt for you OR you message me with a prompt idea, and we’ll take it as dark as we can go. And I  do mean dark. 

The Rules

Firstly, this is a dark challenge that can and probably will include smut, so NO MINORS ALLOWED, even for work that has no explicit sexual content.

Secondly, I would like to keep this to the fandoms I’m actively involved in, so Marvel characters, Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan characters, etc. If you aren’t sure, please ask! 

I’m primarily an xReader writer, so no OFC’s, OMC’s, etc. 

*Most* Tropes are accepted; Dark, Mafia, A/B/O, etc, but no: DDLG, Toilet play, Bestiality, Racism, Homophobia, Transphobia, etc.

There is a hard 1.5k word limit. I wanted to make this a real challenge for everyone, myself included! That being said, please put your fic under a cut if it exceeds more than 350 words!

Please tag and warn for all topics as is generally expected/accepted!

Original works only please! If this is part of a series, it must be able to be read and understood as a stand alone piece!

I want this challenge to be fun and spark joy! If it isn’t, or if you don’t like the prompt, it’s okay to request another one!

In order to keep myself from getting over worked, I won’t be able to accept every prompt, so please don’t be upset or offended if I don’t choose yours—I will only be doing 7 of these, in honor of my 7k! But there is no limit on the amount of people able to participate. 

You do not have to be following me to participate, but it would be nice!

I will probably run this challenge for the next three or four weeks!

I have been in the mood for an AU challenge for a few months now, even when I was doing my 2K challenge a month ago

Rules:

How to participate: Send me an ask…I won’t respond to DMs

You can write for: Pretty much all Marvel Characters from the MCU and surrounding universes

Ships: It can be OCs, reader, or even marvel pairings/ships. I just ask if you should do a pairing with Shuri, Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy or Miles Morales please keep in mind that they are still technically minors (so no age gap ships).

Genre: It’s open, but it is an AU challenge. I just implore that you be 18+ to write smut.

ONE STORY PER AU so if an AU is taken, then it’s gone.

Use appropriate warnings, especially for triggers, and include a summary!

Word count needs to be 500+ and please use the Keep Reading feature! It makes reblogging your fic kinder on all my followers’ dashboards.
