Banishing Jar Spell

Let someone be annoying or difficult in their own world, and stay away from you. Your supplies for this spell are:

• A photo or drawing of the person

• A pin

• Vinegar

• Salt

• Jar with lid

If you are using a drawing, write the person’s name on it as well. Fold it over once, and secure it folded with the pin. Drop it into the jar. Repeat the following:

Sealed with a pin In my jar, you stay in

Keep saying the words while you put a few drops of vinegar in the jar, and then a sprinkle of salt. Seal the lid tightly, and put the jar in a dark place.Ā

Study Success Spell

Materials:

1 yellow candleĀ

1 green candleĀ

1 piece of yellow ribbon, yarn or threadĀ

1 piece of green ribbon, yarn or threadĀ

1 piece of orange ribbon, yarn or threadĀ

oil meant for luck or successĀ (such as cinnamon, clove or bergamot)

(optional) mint or rosemary oil, to enhance memoryĀ

Light the yellow candle, then the green. Make sure there’s enough room to work between the two.Ā  Take the three pieces of ribbon/yarn/thread (all long enough to make a bracelet for) and begin to braid them together. The yellow, for intelligence and clarity; the green for luck; and the orange for success. As you braid them, visualize symbols associated with studying, intelligence and knowledge (books, things relate to the subject matter, etc). Once you finish braiding, dab a little bit of the oil over the place where you will tie it, and tie the bracelet (or anklet) around your wrist (or ankle) and wear it when you study and during your test.Ā

Cleansing Techniques for Low Spoon Days

I’m really glad this was requested because it’s an issue a lot of people face and one I’ve run into a lot during my studies. I totally understand why people say that everything should be clean and organized for a good, thorough cleanse, but that just isn’t realistic or possible for everyone. Some days you can do it, other days it feels like you’re staring down Mount Everest.

So I’m gonna share some of the cleansing methods I use that help on low spoon days.

Music - There’s no catch-all for this one. Everyone will have a different type of music that does the trick, and that genre will change depending on what you need in that moment. Sometimes I blast Icon for Hire, other times I’ll go with Cirque Du Soleil or Kevin Kern. It doesn’t matter what you listen to so long as it makes your space and you feel better.

Open Up a Window - I’m not a huge nature witch, but I’ve found it very helpful to have fresh air blowing into my home, especially when there’s a lot of negative crap circling around me. Sometimes on bad depression days I’ll just stand in front of the window and let the air wash over me. I combine this one a lot with the first method.

Scented Candles 1 - If you have the ability to light candles choose a scent that makes you feel good and light ā€˜em up. Sit close to a lit candle for added bonus of aiding in mental cleansing.

Scented Candles 2 - This is gonna sound weird, mostly because it is. If you have floor/rug space enough to vacuum, take a scented candle that you like, carve it so that you’re left with a bunch of shavings, and sprinkle them all over your rug/floor. Depending on your preferences you may want to vacuum them up after an hour or two. But if you want to leave them, less work for you and easier on the spoons. You can sprinkle them under rugs or welcome mats for the same effect and no one will know they’re there. I’ve done this a few times and as weird as it seems, I’ve found it very helpful.

Tea - If you’re not too worried about potentially attracting little bug friends, you can do the fourth method with tea leaves instead of candle shavings. Some people might find this more effective because of the cleansing properties of many herbal teas.

Air Fresheners - Find an air freshener that really leaves your space smelling fresh and clean. Inscribe the bottom or side of the container with a sigil designed for cleansing.

Boil Water - I do this a lot when my house is too dry, so why not when it needs a cleanse, too? You can add things to the water to aid in cleansing. I usually do crisp apples, orange peels, cinnamon, anything that I personally associate with cleansing. Find out what works for you, load it up, and leave the sucker there to boil.

Salt - I can already imagine the eye rolls, but it helps. I keep a bottle of sea salt next to my bed so when I’m just fed up with my environment and feel like I need something fast to push away heavy, negative shitĀ  I’ll grab a handful and just throw it. It also feels good to throw stuff across my room *shrug*

That’s all I’ve got for the moment, but I’m sure there are eight million other methods to cleansing that are easier on the spoons than a full house cleaning session. If anyone has methods of their own to add to this, please do! I’ll probably reblog as I see them :)

Let's talk Travel Altars šŸ–¤

Let's Talk Travel Altars šŸ–¤

My travel altar is something I use pretty often, since I do alot of my spell work outside.

Everyone's (travel) altars will look different. They should be custom to your craft specifically.

Contents

Let's Talk Travel Altars šŸ–¤

The container I use is an old make-up box with a mirror šŸŖž

A bag of crystals šŸ”® (currently it houses: jet, tourmaline, bloodstone, moonstone, amethyst, clear quartz, and bronzite)

My pendulums, I also keep a pendulum mat folded in my box (see it located under everything)

A journal and pen. I use these to write when sitting outside, when listening to spirits, or when making sigils.

My tarot cards. Currently I use my Radiant Rider-Waite deck. I also bring its reference book šŸ“–

Herbs and oils, as well as an empty jar and bag for collection purposes. Pictured: pink salt, ashes, lavender, rose petals, sage, cinnamon.

My cauldron

Incense, currently I keep some palo santo that was gifted to me.

My Mortar and Pestel, and a small silver plate (used to hold things or as an offering plate when needed)

A small metal tin (I have the ouija board tin from sprit halloween) filled with different colored birthday candles and a box of matches.

Packing it all up

Everything I need is able to be packed away into this little box, with room for more.

Things You Can Do On The First Of The Month - Along With Or Instead Of Blowing Cinnamon Through Your

Things you can do on the first of the month - along with or instead of blowing cinnamon through your door

An extremely popular practice right now is to blow cinnamon through your door on the first of the month. It’s popular for good reason, as doing this can bring in prosperity for the new month.

However if you cant partake in this practice due to pets, allergies or any other reason - or simply would like to change/add more to your first of the month ritual, I’d like to offer some ideas!

First let’s talk about the significance of the first of the month and blowing an herb into the home. The first day of a month is a starting point. You can set the tone for how the rest of the month will unfold energetically. One is the number of beginnings and potential! Do not worry if you miss it or simply don’t feel up to it on the first you can of course still do the same practices any day of the month.

The act of blowing the cinnamon into your home is to symbolize that energy flowing into your household. This can be achieved through different means and different herbs all based on preference.

Want to change it up? - Alternative actions:

Cinnamon in your coffee

Put or refresh prosperous herbs & crystals in your wallet

Herbs & crystals in the mail box

Burning bay leaves

Prosperity front door wash (don’t forget the doorknobs!)

Cinnamon sticks in / on the mailbox

Burning a green or yellow candle

A small luck or prosperity ritual/working

Drinking mint tea

Sweeping! (Clear out that old stagnant energy!)

Prosperity herb scented hand / body soap

Make / feed / refresh money bowl

Blowing cinnamon in a house would be activating it using the air element - try a different element (burning, burying or putting in water)

Can’t use cinnamon? - Some other plants for prosperity:

Mint

Allspice

Bay leaves

Black tea

Catnip

Cilantro

Clover

Ginger

Moonwort

Oats

Oregano

Parsley

Peppermint

I hope this takes some pressure off and gives you new ideas!

Bedridden witch: Stale energy edition

Bedridden Witch: Stale Energy Edition

Anyone who’s been stuck in bed knows how quickly that stale feeling can build up! Here’s some tips (both witchy and non) for clearing some of that unwanted energy. Thank you @tealeavesandpapertrees for requesting this post!

Open a window.

Hang wind chimes outside.

Hang a rainbow prism by your window, let the light cleanse your room.

Keep a small fan.

Flip over your blankets and pillows.

Use a Himalayan salt lamp.

Clean one area per day (can be minuscule or massive)

Let the moon wash over your room.

Burn candles, let the flame burn away any unwanted energy

Make a spritz with scented herbs or infused water.

Let the weather cleanse your room, no matter what it may be.

Manipulate the energy with your hands.

Do at least one hygienic thing per day.

Set out a bowl of water to absorb the energy, dispose accordingly.

Wash all of your bedding, place some cleansing sigils or herbs underneath your mattress.

Wash yourself, even if it’s just with a cloth.

Speak out loud (or communicate in some form) what things you would like to invite into your space.

Use a wax melter with some cheery scents.

Get a bouquet of fresh flowers.

Play music.

Burn incense, as the smoke wafts around the room let it push away any unwanted energy.

Visualize a light clearing out the energy.

Switch which side of the bed your lying on.

When it rains, imagine the rain washing away or drawing out the energy.

Laughter is the best medicine. Watch a funny or heartwarming movie that makes you feel content.

Keep a jar and write down anything you want to let go of. Destroy accordingly.

Change what clothes you’re wearing every couple of days.

Hold a crystal and imagine it sending out positive energy.

So many, many other things!
