Orestes lost both his sister and mother that day...
i cant think abt elektra & orestes being twins for too long or ill fr start crying. like the thought of them growing up together, being the only ally each other has, growing closer than regular siblings, creating a world of their own through games & fantastic tales, only for elektra to have to send him away for his safety, renouncing to the little companionship she had in the house, feeling like she just got rid of part of herself, not knowing when or if orestes will ever come back... but doing it anyway cus thats her brother & she has to take care of him. she has to
It simply cannot be overstated how much I love this diva ✨✨
He's so sassy and I want him 😍😳
Just one chance
You know the common saying "The abused becomes the abuser?"
I'd like to argue it is the contrary for Greek Myths. The abusers become the abused, in many myths.
We see it in the Odyssey (mostly in epic) with Odysseus killing the infant with no regards to the VERY much alive Andromache at that time, killing Poseidon's son Polyphemus, and then suffering for 20 years without having the pleasure of raising his own son, much like the oportunity he took from Andromache more specifically. And then in the Telegony version (which, by the way, I disagree completly) he gets KILLED by one of his sons.
Or in one of my favourite myths: The House of Atreus. Clytemnestra avenges her daughter, only for Orestes to have to avange his father. In many accounts, modern or ancient, Clytemnestra even ignored Orestes & Electra in favour of Iphigenia, alive or dead.
Or in Achilles' case, so rude and arrogant, he let many Greeks die for his selfish pride, until he felt what loss felt like truly.
It's a perfect showcase of karma, and I love it.
