Curate, connect, and discover
. I know he wanted his friends character to be at the bottom of the list of things he had done. But for me friends and Chandler bing was a source of comfort when I was struggling with myself in my teens. They helped me a lot , it wasn't just a silly show to me. Thank you for everything, R.I.P.
Thank you, Matthew Perry (August 19, 1969 - October 28, 2023)
rip mathew perry, you always will be my favorite actor from friends (if my fucking week couldnt get worse.)
To hear that Matthew died, hurt my heart. Not just my heart but myself, meaning I couldn't help myself from rewatching Friends. I've always been specifically fond of Matt and his characters... he was a gift, what can I say? Alas, he's dead.... I miss you, Matt.
Matthew Perry having the last line said in Friends really hits a million times harder now :(

Please please please I know we all love Friends and Chandler was our favourite character and Matthew always put a smile on our faces and that’s all amazing but can we please please please talk about this:
“I've had a lot of ups and downs in my life. I'm still working through it personally, but the best thing about me is that if an alcoholic or drug addict comes up to me and says, 'Will you help me?' I will always say, 'Yes, I know how to do that. I will do that for you, even if I can't always do it for myself! So I do that, whenever I can. In groups, or one on one.
And I created the Perry House in Malibu, a sober-living facility for men. I also wrote my play The End of Longing, which is a personal message to the world, an exaggerated form of me as a drunk. I had something important to say to people like me, and to people who love people like me.
When I die, I know people will talk about Friends, Friends, Friends. And I'm glad of that, happy l've done some solid work as an actor, as well as given people multiple chances to make fun of my struggles on the world wide web...
but when I die, as far as my so-called accomplishments go, it would be nice if Friends were listed far behind the things I did to try to help other people.
I know it won't happen, but it would be nice.”

I went to the mall with my bestfriend yesterday, it was soo fun we even went to the book store in there :))
I picked up Matthew Perry's autobiography - Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing
and I was flushed with a wave of nostalgia, sadness and overwhelming love for that man.
Even though I was born three years after friends ended , I still grew up on it and chandler was the one I related to the most ,Infact he was my friend's favourite character and we would talk about chandler a lot or repeat his jokes and that made him even more special to me.
It really feels like we are reading his personal diary as it takes us through his life. There are several pictures in there as well and one of them is of him as a teenager surrounded with a bunch of kids and the caption is -
"I have always been great with kids. Man,I wish I had one of my own"
this just..stayed with me and I think it will stay with me for a while, I miss him. I hope he's in a better place. <3
