i feel so bad for ruby. she left bridgerton to take the role of lucy.

i feel bad for cameron. this was his first official acting job and he did an incredible job.

i feel bad for ali. george karim was such a wonderful character and he was perfect for the role.

i feel bad for mr stroud. he wrote this incredible books and finally got it made into a show, a show so true to the books, it surprised even me that a book to show adaptation could be so well done. you could see how devastated he was in his post and i cried reading it.

i feel bad for complete fiction pictures. it was so awesome to see them interacting with the fans and you could tell they cared about this show.

i feel bad for everyone involved with the production of the show. all of their hard work to make the show amazing was much appreciated. i am so grateful for everything that went into the show from them and even though it won’t be continued, the season that we had was more than we could have ever hoped for.

i feel bad for us, the fans. we’ve spent months and even years in this fandom. the day that the teaser trailer dropped was one of the best days of my life. after years of living off of crumbs, sometimes not even, suddenly having an influx of new things to obsess over was such a great experience. and speaking of great experiences, having a community to talk about my favorite series has been one of the best things ever.

i am upset at netflix for not promoting our show and canceling it after not getting enough views. but even though we don’t get another season, i’m so glad i got to have this wonderful journey with you all. i love you guys.

Lockwood & Co Headcanons

Sharing a bed with them

Lockwood & Co Headcanons

George

- probably isn't a massive cuddler

- but will have one of his limbs flung over you to make sure you're still there

- he probably wakes up first most mornings, gazing at your blurry form until he remembers to put on his glasses

- there are always glasses of water next to the bed and you gotta be careful not to knock them over when getting in or out

- there's generally a couple of books at the end of the bed that George forgot to take back to the library

- before you fall asleep, he kisses the top of your head

- he definitely makes the bed every morning

Lucy

- one hundred percent a little spoon

- she likes to feel you wrapped around her, it helps her feel safe

- you probably end up breathing in her hair but it doesn't matter cos you're close to each other

- there's about a hundred teacups on the bedside table, most of them half full from drinking them before passing out

- she almost curls up like a cat, and when you don't spoon, you often end up with her on top of you, limbs splayed everywhere

- it's a tad warm but neither of you mind. you're close, you're safe, and you're relaxed

Lockwood

- big spoon. likes to know he's protecting you, even at night

- there's a thousand blankets on the bed, most of which get kicked off every night

- he still layers them on there though. just in case you get cold

- he doesn't sleep much but knowing that you're asleep in his arms help him to relax

- on the rare occasion that you wake up and he's fast asleep, you daren't move, not wanting to wake him

- he never makes the bed other than tossing the blankets back on it

LUCY AND NORRIE HAD SOMETHING FRUITY GOING ON OKAY??

locklyle is endgame (duh) but the way they looked at eachother?? sorry, that just screamed "I just found out I'm bi and I have a not so secret crush on my best friend."

So they bring Norrie back to life, yeah. And who does she end up dating, none other than Holly Munro

in general, I loved how the actors chose to play the characters. lockwood being a bit more obviously reckless and suicidal. lucy obviously still struggeling with how her mother treated her (mostly obvious with the "asset" storyline. In general, this show just added a little bit of spice to the characters and I love it.

Ali is bringing so much neurodivergence to George’s character, and l’m OBSESSED.

I always read him as a blunt person who just doesn’t mind being a dick, but like,,, when you add it to how Ali delivers his lines and doesn’t make eye contact— like he is making the choice to play George as autistic coded and have researching be his special interest and I just love that 😭

Your not alone, this was a choice and I love it and him.

In The Screaming Staircase, Lockwood is wearing those striped rich person pajamas when Lucy wakes him up. What I'm saying is that having him sleep shirtless was a Choice

Revisiting this point from an earlier post of mine about how much I love that Lockwood & Co. specifically does not do this to Lucy:

Revisiting This Point From An Earlier Post Of Mine About How Much I Love That Lockwood & Co. Specifically

Can we TALK for a SECOND about how the writers wrote the whole Towel Scene (which admittedly did not make the final cut but still) and managed to make LOCKWOOD the most uncomfortable out of three?? Because he's a massive dork??? Instead of the girl who's literally standing in a towel in a hall with two boys???

Like they put the love of Lockwood's life in a towel in front of him and rather than taking it as an opportunity to objectify her and make her an object of lust, they turned it into an absolutely hilarious moment that showcases not only how much of a dork Lockwood is, but how SAFE Lucy is in that household. Yes it's funny and very awkward but it doesn't broach the sickening feeling of a girl being exposed and unsafe and objectified.

I can't even begin to express how comforting it is, the way this series lets Lucy be safe in this area. I wish I could explain it more clearly but the words aren't wording. Y'all get it.

Love him

My hottake is that people are trying to fit Lockwood into character archetypes he doesn't fit, because they see "traumatized teen boy with a big ego and a passive death wish" and go "oh. emotionally unavailable asshole character" when that's.....not actually the character we're shown.

He's constantly praising Lucy and George. He's often the first one to try and apologize when he gets into a fight with them. The second he clocks Lucy as a "safe person" he becomes super touchy and holds her hand constantly. He compliments George's cooking. He's visibly proud of the people he cares about and publicly defends them on multiple occasions. He repeatedly asks his team if they're okay and tries to get them to open up when they're having issues. He makes an obvious, conscious effort to repeatedly tell Lucy he believes in her and wants her to stay at Portland Row. He smiles and jokes and laughs around with them on a pretty regular basis. He's also emotionally aware enough to tell Lucy "the reason I haven't talked about this subject with you is because it's relevant my childhood, which I don't like to talk about because it's pretty traumatic" when she questions him ahout Jessica's door, and he's kind of astonishingly open about his trauma with Lucy and George despite generally being unwilling to actually talk about the details.

And this applies to characters other than Lucy and George, too. He compliments Kipps' team during the graveyard fight and clearly respects Flo, for example. He's kind to Winkman's son, is generally polite to his clients, and is affected by the death of the undercover agent to the point of having a panic attack. It's pretty clear he cares deeply about the people around him even as he tries to push those closest to him away so they won't mourn him if (when) he dies.

Like yeah, Lockwood has an ego the size of Manhattan, has enough trauma to fill a boat, and is worryingly flippant about the worth of his own life, but he's not the Asshole With a Heart of Gold archetype. He's not cruel or deliberately mean (at least, not to anyone who's not Kipps). He's friendly and pretty kind to most people most of the time, and he openly cares about his team. And it's a little weird that I'm seeing so many people talk about him like he's not.

I honestly love it so much. It makes me feel grounded and safe.

You better believe I have watched the entirety of Lockwood and Co three times. I’m absolutely enamored with this show. What a love letter to the original content. What an incredible adaptation. So yes, I’m gonna be streaming this show in the background for the next month because everybody involved in this deserves another season. The actors and crew have earned it and the fans have too.

I will go feral if we don’t get to see Hollow Boy and Creeping Shadow adapted now. Can you fricken imagine

Please!!

Friends. If you do nothing else this week, please. Please stream Lockwood and Co as much as you can. The completed viewing hours matter so much and this story deserves a season two. The fandom has grown exponentially in the last three weeks, people are loving the show and finding the books. It has more than earned that renewal but Netflix needs the numbers to authorize it.

Let’s give them no choice.

I agree with everything that was said and have nothing to add😅. NETFLIX I NEED SEASON 2

If you have ever thought about watching Lockwood & Co. on Netflix, even in passing, please do so! Right now! This is your sign, it's the perfect time!

I apologize for being the asshole who cross-tags, I swear it's not normally me. But hear me out, I mean this with my chest: if you're someone who enjoys the YA genre whatsoever - especially when it comes to ~a group of young people~ banding together to ~fight off supernatural threats~ - then Lockwood & Co is perfect for you! (see I'm doing you a favor, just trust me😂)

It's about ✨the unique characters, the found family, the mysteries, the worldbuilding, the slowburn, the vintage/modern aesthetic, the soundtrack, the cluttered kitchen coziness, the cinematography, the attention to detail, the layers and nuanced storytelling!!!✨ It's literally the most captivating YA-led show I've ever seen, and I'm a big fan of Stranger Things and Shadow & Bone.

It's the character work in Lockwood & Co that makes it stand out from the rest. The main trio fills the hole in my heart. They're so unique and flawed and SHAPED, and the way they interact/work together is like crack for your soul. It's ridiculous how addicting their dynamic is.

Let's see what Twitter has to say...

This show heavily features themes of finding a family and a reason to live & die because of the home you've found with each other. I promise that you will fall in love with these precious, broken kids as quickly as I did.

Brief character descriptions under the cut, cause you're already this far, so why not?

This is Lucy Carlyle! She is wildly talented, takes no shit, and has suffered a lot in her past but holds so, so much capacity for loving others. She is sassy, practical, empathetic, and grounding.

This is Anthony Lockwood, aka tumblr babygirl who uses a facade of confident swagger to mask the well of pain he harbors underneath. He is charismatic, ambitious, reckless, and soft hearted.

And this is George Karim. He is the MOST precious bean who is a brilliant researcher, though struggles sometimes with feeling out-of-step. He is sarcastic, excitable, unashamed, and dedicated.

At the end of the day - all I can say is sorry for the brief invasion into your tag, but also THANK YOU for your consideration in reading this, and thanks in advance for checking out Lockwood & Co 😉💖✨ I cannot emphasize enough how much you won't regret it!

I love them so much 😭😭

Not to state the obvious, but I've been watching for like the 400th time and from what I can gather from the wound bandaging scene, Lockwood's opinion matters to Lucy that's why she's so touched when Lockwood said he believed her

And then there's the whole eating thing--Lockwood buttering her toast, prior to that Lucy being famished in the first episode; Lucy calmly forgiving him and pulling the eggcup joke to tell him it's okay she's not giving up on him it's just another day and then them eating midnight breakfast as they wait for George, that just reeks of them being "each other's home" warmth idk how else to put it
