I don’t know the American players well enough to make those speculations, but the thing about people like Knight is that they aren’t easily replaced by athletes who are simply ‘good at hockey’, her leadership and her drive to grow the game are also a part of why she is who she is and why her impact is so immense.
Eventually all records are broken, you see talent surges and the game improves over time, but I don’t see the void she leaves behind being filled anytime soon.
