Light blinking up at him with wide, dull doe eyes, trying to comprehend what he’s saying, all his extraordinary brilliance and pride vanished under the constraints of a very ordinary body that reacts just like anyone else’s to being sedated. L doesn’t prefer him like this, truthfully, all docile and tame, but it’s worth it to pretend as such for a little when he’s recording everything and knows the real Light is going to gag at how helpless and dumb he looks and how he just gave L the reactions he wanted while being unaware of it.
