seeing that they’re doing another minis auction and it’s their biggest one yet and for fantasy high so presumably gonna make bank and they’re doing it to help send aid to Palestine rather than make a profit made me weep, i truly think no other streaming service can come close to comparing to dropout
I literally just finished ACOC just a moment ago and I couldn't wait to write about it. Holy shit, I fucking loved this season. There were a couple of times where I was nearly crying along with some of the PCs.
First of all, this has been the first time I have witnessed a full character death and no way of returning in DnD that didn't have a real-world explanation. (Hero Squad was the first one I witness but the PC wasn't able to continue playing with them due to family things) Not even in my own campaign that I've been playing have we come close to even losing anyone yet. So, those moments of Amethar dropping multiple times, Lapin's death, and especially Jet's death was so emotional and I felt like I was right there with them.
The lore and the world-building of this world was so insane. I watched the behind-the-scenes episode as well and finding out just how much Brennan and everyone put into this season makes my little writer's heart sing. I have done that, I do that, and being able to see how others do that in their mediums is so inspiring. Even when Brennan was not pulling any fucking punches, it felt right for the world that was surrounding the characters cause in those moments, punches wouldn't be pulled.
This season was so crazy and I hung on to every moment of it. It's not one of my favorites but it's one of the most inspirational campaigns I have ever watched.
Now, I do believe it is time for me to watch the second season of The Unsleeping City. Wish me luck.
scrolling twitter today and then coming over here is like walking out of a burning building and then walking into the calm remains of a building that burnt down 5 years ago and has been reclaimed by nature.
Twitch Streamer Mary Ann Skuttle AU
She almost exclusively plays video games, tho sometimes she reviews the quality and cuteness of plushies. Sometimes she updates people on her quokki pet's level or how her personal AC Island looks, or her longest running Stardew Farm. (Maru IS her favorite Stardew marriageable NPC because it reminds her of her "loser boyfriend".)
Sometimes she gets her friends to play games with her on stream, or they're just in the background hanging out. Once when a game comes out that Mary Ann is legit excited for (in her own way) everyone gathers in a little watch party in the background with snacks as they settle in for the Marathon stream about to happen.
If she misses some streams she probably tosses out a simple update about her and her friends being on a quest or something similar that she implies is kinda lame. Her watchers KNOW she's an adventurer but there is never any elaboration.
They also know she has a boyfriend but known VERY little about him.
Loser Boyfriend™️ Confirmed Facts
1. Loser
2. His quokki pets gameplay is trash
3. Also an adventurer ig
4. Plays drums sometimes
5. They officially met when she curb-stomped his ass at a sports tryouts and he got mad. (No elaboration)
6. He made her a switch capable of running ROMhacks and mods.
7. Half-orc. The only times they have ever seen him is once or twice when he wordlessly hands her a mango soda from off screen. They have an entire emote of his hand with the soda bottle they spam sometimes. (#bottleboi)
Which is to say when Gorgug shows up in the background of the stream one day, cause Mary Ann rearranged or was streaming from somewhere else temporarily, people start freaking out.
Mary Ann notices but only comments "yeah, that's my loser boyfriend. Don't worry about it."
THAT'S NOT THE ISSUE MARY ANN!!!
THAT'S GORGUG THISTLESPRING, FAMOUS 4X WORLD SAVING RENOWN ADVENTURER BEFORE HE EVEN FINISHED HIGHSCHOOL, THE FIRST EVER BARBIFICER IN THE WORLD, AND GODDAMN FAMOUS ROCK STAR.
YOU CALL HIM YOUR LOSER BOYFRIEND?????
"His quokki pets gameplay is trash."
MA'AM-
I binged watched the complete playlists on Dimension 20 and I'm fucking obsessed. I love just how fun and chaotic yet heart-wrenching and emotional it all is. Brennan is such a fun DM and I love how rewards the players even if their ideas are insane but that's what makes it so special. The moment that I can, I am getting that subscription to Dropout and watching everything else that I'm missing. I also can't wait to see some of the campaigns that Brennan hasn't/isn't DMing.
As always, the Irish speak nothing but facts.
How many more innocent civilians have to be killed by Israel before you condemn that for it?
That is a genocide.
That this is a crime on all accounts.
And deserves to be punished to the full extent off the law.
you know that expression, "dance like no one is watching you?"
try writing like no one is going to read it
it's easier to let yourself go and just enjoy the process of creation when you aren't also playing 6 dimensional chess with your insecurities and anxieties
write because you have fun writing and if you never post it anywhere that's totally fine because you enjoyed your time with the process
it's funny how Adaine might have been the perfect Bad Kid for Porter to corrupt yet he didn't even know her name. She was the younger unfavorite daughter in her family, prone to panic attacks and lashing out. She wanted to punch people in the face the first day of school, she's the first one of the Bad Kids who killed a person instead of a monster and she did it with a melee weapon.
Even after she is in a healthier environment she is actually more vicious than fearful like she was in freshman year. She lashes out against authority figures and injustice, she is proud of killing her father by punching off his head. everytime someone wrongs her she response twice as hard in a fury that even the rest of the party doesn't match.
And to make things worse, the Wizard teacher is a condescending bitch who talks down to her students. It would have been so easy for him to take Adaine under his wing. She's literally everything he pretended Fig was and now she's turning her anger on him. The guy is not only a bad teacher, an all around dick, but he's also as bad at proselytizing as Kristen is.
Frankly all of the bad kids were kind of perfect for him and his plans, if a bit too headstrong and willful, but he was never clever enough as he thinks. That's why he's being mocked by a bunch of teenagers when he tries to get them to debate him/ engage with his philosophy
*Edit*
I actually liked this idea so much I started an au if you're interested
Part 1 Part 2
CW: Spiders (Though I won't be too descriptive.)
AH, this was such a fun battle! I really love how much the crew put into the setup of this episode. From the ambient lighting, the domes' screens with the webs and spiders, then the boss mini coming down from the center was so cool. Seeing all of the players reacting to that was such a joy. It shows how much time and dedication they put into these campaigns. Always going after more and better than the last one.
Speaking of the boss though, I can't express how much I love that Ylfa immediately was like, "She's like me and I can help." Even while doing her best to help defend her friends and Scheherazade. It's quite interesting at the end with her moment with her hand on the book. And her questioning her story and how she is always afraid in her story while in the Neverafter she could at least be with Ylfa. I thought that was so sweet and it really shows us more about the nature of the book.
I'm so glad that the group was having some better roles this time around, plus making some really smart moves in general. It was so different from the first battle though in a way, for the storyline at least, it almost feels necessary to have had the players experience a TPK as it allowed for the characters to grow and adapt to the world around them.
I can't wait for this Wednesday, I'm quite curious about where our heroes will be going and who they will run into.
Side note, I did finish Mischief and Magic. I will be posting about that sometime this week, maybe even tomorrow. Now, I am off to the stars.
I don't live in Missouri anymore (I went to college in the state) but I saw this and had to reblog. Public libraries are so important for so many people. Students, parents, kids, the elderly, and anyone who needs a computer but can't afford one. Please please please do your part in helping.
A post I made a few days ago about the Missouri Legislature’s proposal to defund public libraries really blew up.
I’m happy to have helped spread the word about this issue as it’s not getting enough mainstream attention. But frustrated at the tone of the original post and the thought that it’s become a part of many people’s daily doomscroll.
This is bad, but there are things we all can and should do to make it better.
If you are a Missouri citizen, please go here and fill out the short form. It will use your address to contact your state senator about reinstating the full State Aid funding to Missouri’s libraries. You can also customize the message and I encourage you to do so.
If you have time and energy, consider calling your senator’s office as well. You can find out who your representatives are and find their contact information here. A short phone call letting them know you are a constituent and this issue is important to you can do a lot of good.
Ignore the naysayers who claim that contacting your representatives is a waste of time. I know people who intern in these offices and collect information on what the public contacts their representatives about. If enough people call about the same issue, it raises the profile of that issue on their agenda. It can make a difference, especially in a case like this where the mainstream media is not focusing on the story.
Please take a few minutes of your time if you are a Missourian to make your voice heard on the importance of libraries. And please reblog and spread the word even if you’re not a Missourian. With your help, maybe we won’t have to fight this fight in your homestate as well. Thank you.
