Oh please don't mind me too much because despite knowing some general stuff I'm a noob in all of this π gosh that sounds so tragic the way he's hoping so much for the baby who will not see another day... I can so see that since Hector seems so tragic and defends his city pouring himself like that...
Yeah I can imagine the Greeks are seen as ingenious with such an idea and resources, it's possible I'm remembering the reactions of the people who studied the piece with me so many years ago and mankind a biased assumption haha but yeah that definitely makes sense! Regardless it is a very interesting aspect to explore indeed!
I am familiar with such details indeed, despite it all it was a good example on how they used their opponents weakness and overconfidence and took advantage of them putting their guards down which was their fatal mistake, taking the enemy right into their most vulnerable position. Can definitely understand how this is such great inspiration for some aspects of the rebellion as well haha
Gosh it's amazing how the most gruesome ideas of tragedies result in such epic pieces of art, tho as a creator I understand it, and you as well of course haha the raw visceral emotions are the best fuel for inspiration many times! Gosh sounds dark, tragic and hellish... Oh thank you I'll definitely check it out! πβ¨
Not at all girl you know it's true β¨β€οΈ
I can imagine, they seem to be both parallels of different perspectives if that makes any sense hehe but trully and both the heaviness on their hearts really shows here! Oh the one you also reblogged right? I can definitely see why it inspired you, and your story in response truly was a gift β¨β¨
You're amazing π€β¨β¨
What Trojans must have heard that fateful night some time during bronze age, 3000 years ago
I mean imagine they went to sleep thinking they won and the Greeks had left and then they wake up facing hell with houses burning people screaming and the Greeks entering the city killing and capturing and sacking their city that was safe for 10 years!
Hahaha that character being there for good measurements and comparisons π
Yeah I think it's s fantastic how Odysseus has all the ingredients to easily fall into the Mary Sue category, and yet he's so well thought out and balanced with both strengths and weaknesses that he becomes engaging, he is very human and the perfect character to symbolize the human will to survive even while facing great odds and suffering! For sure he breaks with extreme sorrow, anger and guilt which is such a raw realistic reaction, his faith can also falter in the worst moments, and no matter how formidable he is, he is still at danger of being hurt and killed which makes the risks he faces very real and scary threats! And the fact that he can get over himself with his talents shows the downside of his confidence and yet it's that same confidence and determination that ensures his survival! (Yeah I also think that could be a a bit a stretch hehe)
Yeah even in the way Odysseus can be an actor which fits Diego a lot too hahaha oh man Caleb sure is! And that's probably why he fits so well living in the middle of the Tribal Galhots π but gosh yes his honesty and his boldness jumping to danger hahaha yes the young old man haha oh man he is which makes it tragic how Caleb went through more suffering in his youth than in his older years!
Gosh the parallels are so good they just write themselves π
Hahahaha don't you love it when characters in the homeric poems go like;
Agamemnon the warrior and king and Menelaus who has loud war cry we have Ajax who is huge and freaking strong we have Nestor the amazing peace maker and diplomat and so on and so forth and while we have kings and mariners hither thither and finally we get Achilles, the one known being fast, best in war, great with spear and sword and somehow surpassing almost everyone at almost everything (usually war related) and a capable musician...
And then we have Odysseus π
Like wits that rival the gods, master mariner, expert with the spear and great archer fast and fierce despite his age, ultimate survivor, master of disguise a diplomat and a speaker, hunter, carpenter and builder schemer and actor master tactician and a freaking goddess magnet
Like...Homer my dude...leave some talents for the rest of the crew will ya??

This only makes me more depressed at how Disney casts aside beautiful expressive 2D animation for their films.
Nothing against 3D animations, some are masterpieces with their own merit, but the fact that 2D is abandoned as a final product completely is very depressing as it clearly can offer so much as a unique art form for films π’

Hahaha gosh ππππβ¨β¨β¨β¨
But it's amazing how touching it was that his emotions convinced her! But at the same time it's so funny he's so stressed and in a rage, and that's what makes her go:
So she spoke, and made trial of her husband. But Odysseus, in a burst of anger, spoke to his true-hearted wife, and said: βWoman, truly this is a bitter word that thou hast spoken. Who has set my bed elsewhere? Hard would it be for one, [185] though never so skilled, unless a god himself should come and easily by his will set it in another place. But of men there is no mortal that lives, be he never so young and strong, who could easily pry it from its place, for a great token is wrought in the fashioned bed, and it was I that built it and none other.
Hom.Od.23.181-189
So everyone loves the moment of recognition between Penelope and Odysseus and how Penelope basically "forces the true Odysseus" come out with her own trick. Many believe that the recognition happens because of the detailed account of how he made the bed and how it was the secret only a few knew but in my opinion this is not 100% true.
Penelope did not recognize her husband because he analyzed their secret; she recognized him because of his reaction.
Odysseus replied "in a burst of anger". He is exaspirated, afraid, worried and surprised. That is the husband she wants to see; the husband who wants nothing else but his home, his roots and his wife. Anyone could reveal to any mortal the secret of her bed; from one of the servants till one of the gods but there is one thing no one can fake;
The GENUINE emotion. Odysseus replied so immediately and so abruptly in such a genuine emotion that left Penelope no doubt yet that this was her husband. Odysseus didn't just ask her how it is possible to move the bed; he asked her in ANGER a genuine exaspiration and disbelief. No actor or god could mimic that genuine emotion. Odysseus spent about half his time in Ithaca hiding his emotions so he would survive. At that moment of the mention of moving the imovable bed his emotions just showed.
The sign she recognized was not the information he gave her it was his heart.
This hits deeply, especially when connected to the fact that Odysseus did not want the deaths of the suitors to be celebrated... Very sad to think about!
Thinking about Eurymachus said that Odysseus used to place him on his knees, feeding him roasted meat and wine makes it for one even more apparent how young the suitors were plus makes his and their betrayal strike deep
Imagine Odysseus hearing that these children he was so close with grew up and now are in his palace harassing his wife and plotting to kill his son! No wonder he tried to warn them till the last moment
Let that sink in!
I think it's safe to say that Dilla and Neytiri would not exactly get along, especially after Dilla and Caleb adopt Miles/Spider. Neytiri's attitude towards him would not be tolerated.
Dilla is already fiercely protective of children and the young. Messing with her own babies is throwing fuel on an already raging fire.
Kai is scared, but still trying to cover his brother πβ€οΈ
