Winter fluff
Love how tumblr has its own folk stories. Yeah the God of Arepo we’ve all heard the story and we all still cry about it. Yeah that one about the woman locked up for centuries finally getting free. That one about the witch who would marry anyone who could get her house key from her cat and it’s revealed she IS the cat after the narrator befriends the cat.
Say hi to Manfred! I made him as a birthday present to my dear friend @tiiracotta, who's a big Dragon Age fan.
I had a blast working all the little details on the 40cm tall skeleton base I got in a Halloween clearance sale. All the other materials came from my stash, including the eyes, which were originally part of my prop sword sheath for my cosplay of Kusuriuri from Mononoke. The ornaments have been falling off through the years, so I recently replaced a few, and it was by noticing how similar the green crystals are to Manfred's eyes that I had the idea to make the whole doll.
I've always loved puppets, dolls and miniatures, so I hope I can make more projects like this in the future!
Ah, how time flies... like Xie Lian had to fly and fly and fly... 🥲
I adore this gif set with my entire soul!
Almost a year ago in May my friend @yabancreations and I were talking about a fic they wanted to write and I made these silly gif animations as a birthday present for them! Ban's fic Treasure Hunting in the Cloud is a Hualian modern AU meet-cute story and it is amazing and fully out now!! ✈️✨
Here's a reimagining I wrote of the scene in book 4 where Xie Lian gets drunk at the graveyard. Mind the tags, please.
Summary:
Didi (弟弟): Younger brother.
Drunk for the first time in his life, Xie Lian accidentally falls in an open burial pit and finds that he’s not alone.
Canon divergence from chapter 185 of the original/unrevised serialized edition.
Gallery of Memories
It's finally time to post my piece for the @tgcf-reverse-big-bang this year!!!! This time, I had the pleasure to collab with the @/give2figs (check them out on twitter and ao3!!!). And finally I get to share their awesome fic (that my art inspired aaa!!!!)
Random question for my fanfic writing friends:
When you go to AO3, what’s your total word count?
Chapter 3: A package? For... someone
One of my goals for 2024 is to write in a more relaxed and spontaneous way, and here's my first step in that direction.
Summary: After a series of unfortunate events, Xie Lian’s old friends allow him to crash their couch for a few weeks. Upon arrival, Xie Lian is amazed by the amount of online shopping Feng Xin and Mu Qing do, and even more by the extremely awkward timing of the local postman who brings their parcels. How is it possible that this man only rings whenever Xie Lian is in the shower?!
@boomchickfanfiction changed a meme that consisted of sharing the first lines of ten fics for one of sharing the first lines of ten fic WIPs, which suits me wonderfully because it's the only way many of these texts are ever going to see the light, lol. 1 to 7 are TGCF, 8 is MDZS, 9 is Hades and 10 is BotW.
"Ghost, ghost! How can you say that I'm not dead? How would I be able to see you again, if I weren't?"
Hua Cheng seemed to toss the dice casually, but the two little cubes dented the skull of the last demon standing like stones shot from a powerful slingshot, nailing it to the bloody floor. Two sixes.
Neither gods nor ghosts needed to sleep. The fact that they didn’t need to, though, didn’t mean that they didn’t do it.
Tap. Tap. Tap. Hua Cheng didn’t know if that was the best of the worst day of his afterlife.
Upon waking up, the first thing Xie Lian noticed was the unusual warmth. Yawning, he pushed the blanket away and supported himself on his elbows, blinking hard in the darkness.
Despite the generalised hatred its inhabitants felt against the sun, Ghost City did have days and nights.
“Cheng’er is too old to share beds with grown-ups, you are going to spoil him.”
When the only sound coming from Wei Ying arriving to the Cloud Recesses was the clapping of Little Apple’s hooves against the stone road, Lan Zhan knew something had gone wrong.
The waters of the river Styx were warm, and their bitter flavour managed to get inside his mouth as it always did, no matter how tightly he kept his mouth shut.
The sunset made their secret lake glow with an orange hue. Link sat at the shore and splashed the water with his feet, which made Sidon smile.
Feel free to join if you want!
This fic was written as part of the TGCF Gotcha for Congo initiative! The request was a piece featuring Ling Wen and Bai Jin, perhaps a character study or a look at their relationship, romantic or otherwise. Ling Wen is one of my favourite side characters, and the whole ordeal with the Brocade Immortal intrigued me greatly since the beginning. To say I was over the moon when the revised edition deepened their story, and allowed us to have a glimpse of Bai Jin while he was still alive, is a severe understatement! I greatly enjoyed working on this little piece, and I hope you enjoy reading it as well.
Pros of re-reading your own fic
a good time;
Has exactly the tropes you like and the characterization you want to read;
Gratification: yes you did finish a thing and yes you did do good;
just a very fun time all around.
Cons of re-reading your own fic:
Is that another TYpO
