but truly there’s nothing more terrifying than a man with only one thing left to lose — he would do whatever it takes to keep you safe.

Love makes someone vulnerable, your heart manifesting right before your eyes, but that’s not to say it makes someone weak.. no, it makes them stronger.

Scaramouche can’t lose you too.

You give me too much credit, love~ But I’ll definitely show ya how I do it if you wanted to try different techniques for hair as unruly as Ardyn’s haha.

1.) Draw your base

Start with a base for a head like this. It makes it easier to draw the face and hair proportionately.

2.) Draw that beautiful face

You can skip and head straight for the hair, but I like drawing the face first as knowing where the eyes start and the mouth ends helps in pinpointing my hairline. The top of the hairline for me is the length of the tip of the nose to the bottom of the lip and then I take that length starting from the brow up and boom, hairline. Sorry if that doesn’t make sense, I’ll edit the tutorial at some point to make it easier

3.) Start with the bangs

From the hairline, you can start with his bangs. They ebb and flow in soft waves. So I do a soft up-down curve motion. And from there it gets easier. Using reference photos helps a lot. I would highly recommend using @maty-yami’s as they take all angles of his gorgeous face in great detail.

4.) The rest of the hair

I thoroughly enjoy doing his strands and locks. They are as unruly as he is so please have fun with this as you’re going along. There’s really no wrong way to do it and as I’ve mentioned, references are your best friends. Don’t be afraid to mess up, I’ve erased his hair so many times before I was finally happy and done with it.

Keeping your base most certainly helps in guiding your strokes as well. Once you are satisfied with it, throw some clothes on him (or not ;p) and you got yourself a Trash Jesus.

And that’s about it. I’ve been drawing him in relatively the same way for a year. Take the time to clean up this hot mess and you’ll eventually draw him like this, if not waaaaay better:

• don’t get hung up on bad grades, bad people, and bad shit. you have approx. 80 years on this planet to do something great before it’s all over. don’t waste your time being down. go pet a dog, hug your friends, have some hot chocolate, and scream your favourite songs
