A/N : I just had to y’all. I just had to. I needed to give this man the tender loving care he deserves asdfghjkl I sorta got carried away. It started off as really serious but somehow turned into something that me giggle and find him even more adorable. Yes I called this 16 ft giant adorable. Deal with it. His watchful gaze scanned his surroundings, its almost as if he was observing every single feature on every person and thing to its very microscopic detail. Though the people around went about their own business, they were wary of the Sweet General’s stares. He was lax as well as on guard, ready for anything out of the ordinary to happen cause even with his ability to see the near future, things can change by the slightest action. 

“Will something bad happen?”  Poire worriedly looked up at him. 

He glanced down at his little sister, arms, and legs still crossed whilst leaning comfortably against the backrest of his seat. 

“Nothing at the moment…I don’t think there’s anything to be worried about,” he muttered under the scarf that draped over the lower half of his face and his shoulders. 

A smile stretched on her small face, going from ear to ear ( a feature that she was born with), as well as her sharp teeth. “That’s good to hear,” she chirped before going off to the other siblings, leaving him at the table with Mama, Perospero, Cracker, Smoothie, Oven, and Daifuku. 

“You’re rarely this tense, Big Brother,” Smoothie commented, taking a sip of her green tea. 

Cracker mischievously grinned and leaned forward, arms on the table.

“Trouble in paradise big brother?” He teased, the question calling the attention of his other siblings at the table, all of them looking at their brother, waiting for a reaction that was far from calm and composed.

pairing: jing yuan x gn! reader.

i strongly believe yanqing will be a protective younger brother. he may see jing yuan as a father figure, respect him with his entire being for taking him and his older sibling under his wing and all, but yanqing doesn’t really trust you with jing yuan. don’t get him wrong. the young boy’s merely worried about you, that’s all. 

it doesn’t help with how he had heard rumors of the general’s nicknames: dozing general, due to him having the tendency to sleep during working and after working hours. yanqing cherishes you a lot, always wanting to be by your side despite how you’re working under lady yukong in the sky-faring commission. 

it’ll take yanqing a while to realize how different you’re acting whenever you’re around jing yuan. the first thing he noticed was how you were more cheerful and how you were more attentive to the general’s needs. yanqing saw how your eyes and face literally brightened up at the mere mention of your name. he saw how you unsubtly quickened your pace to approach jing yuan upon whatever request he had. 

the second thing he noticed was how jing yuan’s eyes followed your figure, no matter where you went. he caught the way his mentor’s expression softened in adoration and something else, when he saw you walking past them while carrying a stack of papers that had to be delivered to somewhere else. yanqing caught the way jing yuan’s hands seemed to rest above yours, when he thought no one was watching. 

the boy was tempted to pester you for answers, but he knew there was a reason why you’re keeping your relationship on the low. yanqing respects your choice but eventually, curiosity got the better of him. 

“(name), when are you going to tell me about your relationship with the general?” he asked out of a sudden, when the three of you decided to have dinner together. 

you nearly choked on your food upon hearing your younger brother’s question. jing yuan chuckled, amused with your reaction. he reached over to gently pat your back in easing your choking. the man decides to play along, for he loves teasing you to see how you would react. 

“he’s right, (name). i thought you’d have told him about us now. why? is it embarrassing for your one and only sibling to hear you dating the general?” he snickered, unfazed by the glare thrown his way. 

you sighed, placing your bowl of half-eaten rice and chopsticks down. “look, yanqing. i’m sorry for not telling you about this in the first place. and it’s not because i don’t trust u or anything. it’s just i’m not sure how i should tell you about it, since i know you see jing yuan as a father-” 

yanqing’s face instantly flushed red when the general raised a curious eyebrow. 

“(NAME)!” the boy exclaimed, successful in interrupting you but it was too late. 

jing yuan hummed, a smug grin on his face. “i didn’t know you saw me as a father figure, yanqing.” 

the young lieutenant could only groan and covered his face out of pure embarrassment, unable to utter a single word. 

note: i went with the idea of yanqing waiting for you or jingyuan to tell him about your relationship, since it wasn't specified with in your request. hopefully this was enjoyable!

Write Rivals With Chemistry So Hot It Hurts

Hating how much they notice the other person. Rivalry is two sides of the same coin: hatred’s messy little sibling is fascination.

╰ Let them know exactly where to hit—and hesitate The best rivals know exactly where to stick the knife. Childhood wounds. Secret fears. Insecurities no one else sees. But the most powerful moment isn't when they stab, it's when they hesitate. When they flinch. When the reader sees the care underneath the kill shot.

╰ Make every win personal Every victory between rivals should feel like flirting with a knife’s edge. They don't just beat each other; they get under each other's skin. "I outsmarted you" translates directly to "I'm the only one who really sees you."
