"Wormy mate, are you awake? We're going to be late to potions"

James words shook Peter out of his daze as he stood from the bench and turned to follow his friend out of the great hall.

It had been bothering him for days. Why couldn't Gilderoy just tell him the name of the cologne? Not even the shape of the bottle? None of it made sense, he could not figure out why he was keeping it such a secret.

He remained trapped in these thoughts for the walk down to the dungeons, barely paying attention to where he was going, thankful for James company to keep him pointed in the right direction.

He knew Gilderoy wasn't exactly a private person, he was always the first to brag about every one of his accomplishments. He was vain too, always wearing perfectly fitted clothes, styled hair and definitely wore makeup, his skin was too nice to be natural. So why would he not share the name of the cologne he was wearing that smelled so good? Surely he would want everyone to know so he could take the credit for discovering it? Peter was no closer to answers and it frustrated him.

Gilderoy was in charms class right now, Peter had memorised his schedule over the last week in order to try to catch him between lessons to finally get the truth out of him but they always seemed to be on opposite ends of the castle.

As he was pondering this, he entered the classroom and took his seat. Pulling out his books and a quill, he took in a deep breath and caught a whiff of that damned cologne, and something inside him snapped, turning to his deskmate and practically yelling.

"For fucks sake Prongs, he hasn't even had potions since Monday and the classroom still smells of his cologne!"

"Pettigrew, that's five points from Gryffindor for language, let's settle down now" came Slughorns booming voice from the front of the classroom.

The class all turned their attention to the front, as the professor continued.

"Here is a sample of the potion you will all be brewing today, would anybody care to take a guess as to what it may be? How about you Potter?"

James turned to Peter, quirked his lips up into a smirk, and replied

"Sir, I believe that is Amortentia"
