Many have been discussing what would happen if Zoro died before Luffy became the Pirate King or, simply, if he died before Luffy, but let me bring up an idea:

What if Luffy died before becoming the Pirate King and fulfilling his dream? What if Zoro fulfilled his dream of being the greatest swordsman but without his captain by his side?

Can you imagine the pain, the anger, the sadness he would have to carry? Once he fulfilled his promise to his captain and his best friend, what is left for him? What is his purpose?

Then, one day, he hears rumors, about a new pirates willing to find the One Piece and finish what Luffy couldn't. What would be his reaction? Apathy? Sadness? Or maybe, just maybe, it would be rage.

It would be the converted pirate hunter Roronoa Zoro, the demon, the king of hell. The one who seeks out those naive people who dare to go for the One Piece and finish them off.

If his captain, if Luffy, could not be king of the pirates, no one else would ever be.

I have to ask since the Grandfather Pride question was asked and melted me: the LI’s age-old meme reactions to the “I want a baby” text 😂 and then their actual feelings about having kids (and how they are with them 🥰)?

✦ The LIs' / ROs' feelings about having kids and how they are with them!

✦ Amon: Kids love him—he's one of the pack, after all! The cool guy with the eye patch! And Amon loves them back, of course, but only for a short while. He gets easily overwhelmed. He'd be fine having one or maybe two kids of his own. Being a parent is difficult, which doesn't mean he wouldn't do his best to be the greatest dad to ever exist, but it'd be a bumpy ride for him for sure.

✦ Raeya: She's used to be a role model for kids, so when they meet her in person, she's slightly nervous about giving a good impression, so it's hard for her to let go and just have fun. She has thought about having kids in the past, but she's not confident she'd be a good parent.

✦ Gael: He dreams of having a family as wonderful as his own. He's very sweet to kids, can read them very well, and would be an amazing, understanding and loving parent. He's a worrywart, though, and tends to pamper and overprotect kids in general, so you can guess that'll become "worse" with his own kids.

✦ Envy: Kids make him nervous and they usually don't like him because of their looks. Also, in general, kids fear him because of what's said of him. He's not cruel to kids in the slightest, but they put him on edge. They don't really like the idea of having kids of their own, unfortunately.

✦ Ara: Ara is the best sister in the world (quotation needed), and kids are obsessed with her because "her hair looks like a cloud and smells like candy." She has a lot of experience with kids and can make the naughtiest child behave like an angel. Wouldn't mind forming a family of her own in the future!

✦ Xal: Scared of kids, uncomfortable around them. He has this perception of kids being usually mean and he thinks they are always judging him. He tends to stay away from them, but that doesn't mean he's not nice to them, or tries to be. Doesn't imagine himself being a parent, but he doesn't dislike the idea.

✦ Father Pride: Well, he has raised six of them, so what can I say! He loves kids. Unlike Amon, Pride has all the patience in the world, never gets tired, and sees kids as little people everyone should learn from. Having more kids, though...........maybe he has had enough of that!

Feels good to be back! This is our first post-Kickstarter devlog and I'm so excited to be writing it.

First of all— Lost in Limbo was successfully funded on September 20th, 2024! 🎉🎇

Yep, it has been almost two months, but it's still something to celebrate! Thanks to every single one of you for making this possible! We didn't meet all our stretch goals (there were a lot and taxes are a pain) but that doesn't mean we are giving up on those. More on that another time.

There's a lot of things we want to show y'all, so let's jump into it!

A sneak peak of Envy's postcard!

Raquel has been working hard on getting the "special postcards from your favorite LI" ready to send them to print ASAP! Initially we were going to use art we already had of the LIs, but we thought it was more exciting to offer y'all exclusive art pieces. After this, Raquel will focus exclusively on the rework of the sprites!

We hosted a few polls and got a lot of feedback. If you missed it, you can check it here!

Astro says hello :^)

As you know, the Extended Demo will feature more locations, including a glimpse of the MC's city, Faybourne! Astro is getting the main street ready for you and your bestie as you go on about your day. I've calculated around three / four different and new locations to properly pace the demo as we imagined it in the first place!

The writing deparment (me. i'm the department) has been focusing on the Extended Demo script. I have a lot of things to play with, like the flavor choices, the personality choices, and more. I want to create a proper balance because one of the things y'all asked for was more choices, and the pacing needed a bit of fixing, as we already knew!

The Extended Demo will actually introduce characters you've heard about, like your mom, your ominous grandmother, and your bestie. So no more talking about them, you'll actually get to meet them like we wanted to!

There will also be more time with the LIs, and hopefully the amount of time you spend with each one of them will feel more balanced, too.

Programming has been an adventure! Huge shoutout to Feniks for helping me figure out how to properly make a toggle for the timed choices as well as helping me polish the personality system. What a lifesaver!

So the timed choices toggle now works perfectly. That means you'll be able to turn them off if you'd like to play the game without being jumpscared by a timer—that doesn't mean you won't be able to mess up, though, on purpose or not :^) This is a dark game, after all!

The personality choice system lets you decide how the MC reacts to things including the nature of your romance with the LI. That means dialogue will automatically change in certain parts of the game to reflect the personality of your MC, some options will be locked, some unlocked, etc. There's three different personalities available.

For colorblind folks, the choices will have a different icon when you hover over them for you to know they're different!

Also, I've started coding some extra mini cgs Kayden's been working on! There'll be more in the Extended Demo to enhance the experience, so we hope you enjoy them! :^)

All the packaging stuff has arrived to our provisional headquarters (Raquel's home), and our business cards have been secured! Every backer with physical goodies will receive one for free :^) This month has been all about managing Backerkit, orders and merch, as well as preparing the Extended Demo. We hope we can receive everything very very soon and start shipping packages starting December!

For now, that's it! There's a lot of stuff going behind the scenes, a lot of things that need attention, and a lot of planning happening. Also the catastrophe the DANA has been on our cities is keeping me a bit on edge, but I'm trying to focus on work. This Saturday I'm going on a trip to Greece with my family, so I'll disconnect then! It's our first time traveling to a different country since I was like...seven years old? And we have been saving up and preparing a lot for the trip, so we are excited :^)

So let's say the MC is just EXHAUSTED and falls asleep somewhere that isn't their bed (like the couch or at a desk or something), and their LIs come across them. What do the LIs do?

✦ An exhausted MC falls asleep somewhere that isn't their bed. What do the LIs do when they come across them?

✦ Amon: Picks the MC up in his arms and carries them to bed. Can't resist the urge to pepper kisses on their sweet face as he does so because his heart is just too full right now.

✦ Raeya: Tries to wake up the MC gently, but seeing how tired they are, she just picks them up instead. "Your back will hurt. Come, let's go to bed."

✦ Gael: Wistfully watches them sleep for a moment. Then he wakes them up with caresses and sweet nothings, leading the MC to the bedroom and helping them out of their clothes if needed.

✦ Envy: "Tsk. This idiot..." Fetches a blanket and places it around the MC. Drops a quick, (hopefully) stealthy kiss on their head and vanishes.

✦ Ara: If the MC is asleep on a couch and she can join them, she does so (not before bringing some blankets along). If the MC is really in an uncomfortable place, she wakes them up and leads them to bed by the hand.

✦ Xal: Joins the MC. No matter what nor where. If they're asleep on the couch, he'll put some blankets on the ground and sleep next to them, holding their hand. If the MC fell asleep on a chair, he'll sit next to them and sleep right beside them.

✦ Father Pride: Would feel bad waking the MC up, but he'll try to make them as comfortable as possible in their current position, putting fluffy blankets across their shoulders and a pillow under their head. Also leaving a glass of water nearby and the bedroom door wide open with a light on.

✦ Lázaro: Wakes the MC up by kissing their forehead. "Now, now; we have a bed for a reason." They will put the MC to bed and massage their hands and shoulders until they fall asleep again.

✦ Cécile: Somehow he wouldn't spot the MC at first because they should be in bed. He would prepare the bed in silence and spend some time watching the MC sleep this way before pinching their nose so they can't breathe. When they wake up with a start, he just stares at them. "You are in the way. Go to bed." He'll then fake he's busy tidying the place up while he makes sure the MC is putting their ass to sleep.

it's pretty easy to guess what cecile would think of mc romancing gael, but what does gael think of mc romancing cecile??

What does Gael think of a MC dating Cécile?

Oh he'd be the complete opposite. If the MC dating Gael would make Cécile want to absolutely obliterate the MC, Gael would be thrilled to see the MC and Cécile warming up to each other. He's the only person in Cécile's life so watching the MC learning to love Cécile and support him would make him so happy.

A different thing is if the MC wants to make him worse. Because some of you want to. You may have to fight The Mindbender to death :^)
