how do you think cecile would react to you falling for him instead of one of the main characters? would he push you away? or do you think he’d try to pursue you as well?

i honestly think he'd just look at you funny and beat the shit out of you. then spit on your dead body and leave. unfortunately for him, id just moan

seriously, though? i guess it really depends on how close you are to him. if he's still untrusting of you (which will last for a long time because he's not easy to romance, i imagine), then he'd curl his lip at the idea... and maybe almost pity you. like, seriously. of all people. you want the one man who wants to strangle you like a raggedy ann doll. pick your standards and your deadbeat body off the floor lest he trip on you. where the fuck are the palace maids when you need them?

if he's more accepting of you, then i think it'd send him into a big dilemma. he's not interested in the why's and when's and how's.

he just knows that it's wrong.

you just had to ruin it all, didn't you? and what a fucking shame, at that, because he was just starting to trust you. your interest in him is legitimately a betrayal to him because he can't have people burdening him. yes, this love is a burden. the moment you care is the moment you tether others, and that's not very convenient for his job.

he can't believe it.

all this time, through out everything that you two have gone through, you've been harbouring this dirty desire, haven't you? it sickens him. (love sickens him, it always does. he was not made for it.) he can't even stand to look at you.

so he doesn't.

he's not above abandoning you high and dry; remember first and foremost that he has a duty. he can't be troubling himself with such matters, and really - he's doing you a favour. no good comes of loving men like him. he flinches in the face of intimacy, he snarls at vulnerability. he won't do it, he can't.

he can't put himself through the painful ordeal that knowing; yes, he is, in his own way, starting to care for you too. just leave him alone. please.

but you never do. you never fucking listen, don't you? this one time, he tries to be nice, and you spit in his face by chasing after him. you better not regret what comes next - when cécile finally decides that you aren't too bad to hunt down.

alas... one never knows how well a prey animal can fight back, much less if they are prey at all and not another predator disguising themself under sweet wool. because let's face it; the way you torture him? by making him want you back? you're no innocent lamb. you are another foreign wolf, and now... he can't tell if he wants to kill you, or make you his, or both.

atleast that's what i think! :p cécile realising that mc likes him and then realising he likes mc is just gonna be a shit show of push and pull like a tag of war and honestly, im here for it. it's gonna be a LOT of push, kinda like a constant warning. but once he finally decides to give in, there is no going back. he's not gonna push you away anymore - he's gonna pull you in like a black hole consumes all. The team has been celebrating and resting, but we are back to work! I've to organize a bunch of invoices, so expect our 2024 wrap-up and 2025 plans in a few days :^)

✦ How would the LIs celebrate the new years?

Our new years! Kind of, because everyone celebrates the new year differently. Here in Spain we eat 12 grapes for each second into the next year—at 23:59:48, so I'm going to use that tradition for this!

Limbo has a kind of "new year celebration" but that's something for another time :^)

✦ Amon: Goes partying with friends. Drunk-calls everyone at 12 o'clock saying how much he loves them. Gets home at 8 am the next day.

✦ Raeya: Chill at home, preferably with family. Dresses up super cozy, with an ugly Christmas sweater. Loves cooking dinner for everybody and goes to bed early.

✦ Gael: Also chill at home, or at a nice hotel with his partner to see some fireworks together and have a romantic end and start of the year!

✦ Envy: They'd like to go to a kind of remote place to have some peace, like a cabin in the woods to watch the stars, stretch the night, and see how the fireworks light up the city from afar. He hates the noise from up close but the colors are pretty.

✦ Ara: You bet she's either at a friend's houseparty, hosting her own, or at a huge new years celebration party! Dances all night, probably stumbles upon Amon if they both go out, and smokes some weed!

✦ Xal: The less people the better. Celebrates at home but it's kind of like any other day for him. He maybe hangs out with his closest friends and partner to have some drinks, play videogames or board games...

✦ Father Pride: With family! Raeya and him would surely celebrate together if both of them are single, but he'd like to have all his children with him from once in a while. He sets up a lot of nice decorations, buys party bags with hats, wigs, etc.

✦ Lázaro: Another one who goes partying, but not to some rowdy place, but to an elegant meetup. This night is for them and their friends, so they book a table at a nice place to have some cocktails and...more stuff. They dress up very elegantly.

✦ Cécile: Doesn't see the point of celebrating something as the Earth doing a full spin around the sun, but prepares grapes anyway and calls the few people he genuinely likes to congratulate them. May be persuaded into a bigger celebration if he's dating someone, though.

But first of all, we'd like to thank y'all for all the feedback in our Ara & Amon's reworks post. We are sorry for not replying to everyone, as we have to take into consideration a lot of feedback from a lot of places; but please know that we read you! We hope that was reflected in the final version of those sprites :^)

Now let's jump into it! Raquel has learned a lot from previous feedback, so this time around, our discord members and Kickstarter backers thought there wasn't a lot to correct—but the second iteration has already improved a lot for you Tumblr folks to see and judge!

Let's start with our dear Praefectus Raeya!

For Raeya, Raquel wanted to give her outfit a redesign, and change her silhouette. The rest has been mantained!

For the second round of feedback, our backers thought her nose and eyes weren't still on point, so Raquel spent more time with them. Now, the red circle inside Raeya's pupil has been brought back, and her nose and lips have been modified to better represent her features.

Also, some backers thought the gold / bronze were too distracting, specially on her boots, so that has been toned down!

For our fan favorite edgelord, Raquel improved the silhouette of their hair to make it more spiky, gave him a better posture / stance, and redesigned their clothes to make them more goth.

Our backers pointed out that his left hand and the index on his right one were a bit wonky, so Raquel fixed those. I think they look much better now! There wasn't a lot of fixes needed compared to Raeya, so that's good!

On another note, some folks liked his new hair, while others thought it was too spiky. Ultimately, we've let Raquel choose, so the spikes are staying!

I just played the demo for the first time yesterday and like. I have never found a dating sim where I don't know who to pick. Usually I can zero in on 1 or 2 mains, but here when i started learning more about them it was like

Your honour I must have them all. In the most normal way possible, I want to Bite Them. I need to wife them up Expeditiously. It is non-negotiable. Hand in marriage Right Now.

Ohhh so I remembered the coffee scene from B99 and I was wondering if the MC ran at a LI who was holding something, on a scale of "immediately drops everything and catches you in a bear hug" to "steps out of the way and lets you miss like a loony toons character" or even "starts running away while screaming at you to stop doing this" how would they react???

So my problem with most ‘get to know your character’ questioneers is that they’re full of questions that just aren’t that important (what color eyes do they have) too hard to answer right away (what is their greatest fear) or are just impossible to answer (what is their favorite movie.)  Like no one has one single favorite movie. And even if they do the answer changes.

If I’m doing this exercise, I want 7-10 questions to get the character feeling real in my head. So I thought I’d share the ones that get me (and my students) good results: 

What is the character’s go-to drink order? (this one gets into how do they like to be publicly perceived, because there is always some level of theatricality to ordering drinks at a bar/resturant)

What is their grooming routine? (how do they treat themselves in private)

What was their most expensive purchase/where does their disposable income go? (Gets you thinking about socio-economic class, values, and how they spend their leisure time)

Do they have any scars or tattoos? (good way to get into literal backstory) 

What was the last time they cried, and under what circumstances? (Good way to get some *emotional* backstory in.) 

Are they an oldest, middle, youngest or only child? (This one might be a me thing, because I LOVE writing/reading about family dynamics, but knowing what kinds of things were ‘normal’ for them growing up is important.)

Describe the shoes they’re wearing. (This is a big catch all, gets into money, taste, practicality, level of wear, level of repair, literally what kind of shoes they require to live their life.)

Describe the place where they sleep. (ie what does their safe space look like. How much (or how little) care / decoration / personal touch goes into it.)

What is their favorite holiday? (How do they relate to their culture/outside world. Also fun is least favorite holiday.) 

What objects do they always carry around with them? (What do they need for their normal, day-to-day routine? What does ‘normal’ even look like for them.) 

How would each ro act after the first morning after waking up next to mc?

✦ How do the LIs act after waking up next to the MC for the first time

✦ Amon: Gives the MC a casual "Mornin'" while stretching. He's not a morning person at all so he hugs the MC from behind and buries his face on the crook of their neck, breathing them in. He falls asleep soon after and doesn't let the MC leave the bed.

✦ Raeya: She wakes up before the MC, a bit disorientated. She has to take her time just trying to make sense of her emotions as she watches the MC breathe. She doesn't wake the MC up and goes on about her duties, leaving a letter behind for the MC.

✦ Gael: He's fast asleep, a rare occurrence. He looks so peaceful with the timid morning sun caressing his face. Then his lashes flutter open and he looks at the MC with a smile, lifting a hand to lovingly brush their cheek. "You look heavenly," he mumbles.

✦ Envy: The MC has to wake them up because damn he's sound asleep and he's holding the MC too tight—! They're, of course, terribly flustered and grumpy about being woken up and having been caught in such a position. "C-can't you see I'm trying to sleep? Go away if you are bored."

✦ Ara: She wakes the MC up with kisses, tickles and a bit of wrestling! She's so so happy to have spent the night with the MC and she wants them to know. She wants nothing but to just lay around for a bit and talk, enjoying a lazy morning!

✦ Xal: He's mortified. He doesn't know what he's supposed to do now—he never expected to get this far to begin with. He has to act cool but doesn't know what to say or do, wants to touch the MC but is afraid of waking them up...So he just lays there, still and barely breathing, watching them sleep.

✦ Father Pride: Gently wakes the MC up with kisses. It all comes natural to him. "It is morning, my dear," he whispers in their ear. "There are things I must attend to."

✦ Lázaro: They're already up and about, preparing breakfast. Their hair is a mess, their pajamas are a mess...They're not used to waking up this early, but they want to do something romantic for their first morning with the MC.

✦ Cécile: Most likely didn't sleep. He instead spent the whole night watching the MC closely, careful of every breath they take, feeling them alive next to him. Probably has touched the MC's lips or hands to see them react in their sleep. When the MC wakes up, he's already up, dressed, and completely fresh.
