What I really love is....Whumpee being sick or injured enough that they were delirious with a high fever and semi-conscious for like 15 (or more) hours, but when they finally woke up they tried to say something completely unrelated.
Like “your apartment is beautiful” or “your bed feels comfortable” when they woke up in Caretaker’s apartment.
Or “you look really tired” or “have you ever slept?” to the Caretaker, as if they were not the reason that kept Caretaker up.
Just...something unrelated to their own condition, as if they were not sick/hurt/miserable at all
“That’s practically a blizzard out there- you’ll never find them!”
“Well I at least have to try!”
i love the term “found family” because it can mean anything from “over the course of our epic adventure we gradually came to realize that we had found the loving home and family we were all searching for in each other” to “i woke up in the same dumpster as this troop of idiots who immediately forcibly inserted themselves into my life despite my loud and repeated objections and increased the amount of problems in it by 200% and it hasn’t even been a week but i’m already prepared to die for every single one of them without a moment’s hesitation”
Mr. Peter Parker 👀👀
One of my favourite rare/underused whump tropes??
Locked in a freezer.
Especially those kind of ice chests?? Like freezer boxes?? Only just big enough for someone to fit in, not much room to move at all.
Someone beaten and shoved into one of those. The bad guy either locks it or shoves something heavy on top. Our character jolts their back into the lid, realising with horror that it won’t budge. Maybe they’re manhandled in, bound and gagged, praying for their friends to find them.
Or one of those walk in freezers in stock rooms?? Our character is moving some boxes around when whatever’s propping the door open shifts and the door swings closed, locked. Or perhaps our character is fighting our bad guy, who shoves them in and locks the door, making eye contact through the little window before leaving. Or maybe our characters friend or co-worker closes the automatically locking door, without realising someones in there.
Maybe I’ll go on about it another time but I think the concept is pretty niche, I never really see it
“I’m a grown man, I am not gonna use kitty-cat plasters!”
“Character B, you’re sick! Please just lay down and rest.”
“I’ll rest when I’m dead!”
“And that’s gonna be far sooner than you think if you don’t just lay down!”
“Please don’t give up on me.”
Bonus points if caretaker really wasn’t planning to
Hey everyone! I wanted to make a little introduction post so:
My names Tobias!
I’ve been kind of in the whump community for a year or so now but I’ve actively loved whump for years.
I’ve been a little hesitant about making a proper whump blog((bit scared my friends might find it)), but I decided its better than trying to secretly interact on my main and hope no one really sees lmao.
I’d like to interact more with the community, as well as start posting my own stuff. Maybe prompts, tropes or something similar. I also plan to make some whump guides for some favourite shows of mine that I don’t see much on here about.
One of the main points of making this blog was to be able to be a bit more open and honest about the kind of stuff I enjoy in whump, and so because of that I will say now that theres a trigger warning for the whole blog. I like a lot of darker things and I understand not everyone does. I also understand that theres a bit of stigma around some darker subjects in the community but I’ll talk about that another time.
But yeah, just thought I’d say hi :)) Hope to be interacting a lot more soon :00
normal halloween fantasy world w/ vampires & monsters & all that good jazz but the skeletons are just normal people who happen to be deceased but stuck around
like ghosts get the option to stay w/ their corpses instead of passing on so now everyone’s family is made up of like 3 living generations and your great-aunt Bernadine
Hello, I’m Tobias! General trigger warning for the blog, more specific warnings in tags
