Mando'a Lesson - A Wolfwren Fanfiction

Mando'a Lesson - A Wolfwren fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! This is the sequel to my halloween High School AU that a lot of you enjoyed! You will find the beginning of the story below but if you want to read the whole thing, the link will be at the end!

Shin unlocked her front door like a thief. She passed her head through and listened to the quiet home, waiting for Baylan’s calm strong voice to ask her if she was back from school. But he never spoke, because he wasn’t home yet. She had chosen this day specifically because Baylan worked later than usual. Once she was sure of it, she let Sabine in and locked the door behind them.

“This way,” she told her as she hurried up the stairs without giving Sabine a moment to look around the entrance hall or the living room.

Upstairs, she snuck Sabine into her bedroom. Her girlfriend paused on the threshold, taking in the room. The walls were that most neutral shade of gray. Shelves heavy with trophies hung on the walls, leaving little to no space for posters. A single one hung over her desk, an ad for a fight between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Maul. The room was clean without so much as a straight piece of clothing on the floor. Sabine took off her orange leather jacket, sat on the desk chair and pivoted it to face the room.

“I could help you repaint your room, if you’d like.”

Shin rolled her eyes and sat at the foot of her bed. She set her school backpack beside her and opened it.

“Help me pass Mando’a first, we can talk about repainting my room later.”

She pulled out her notebook and flipped through it. Her brain was completely phobic to Mando’a. She had been studying it for years at school, yet she could barely remember the minimum. And she had put it off for so long, focusing on her strongest subjects and her competitions that, now that she was actually likely to fail, the private lesson was an emergency. Lucky for her, her new girlfriend was fluent in Mando’a.

Life Could Be a Dream - a RubyxChristina fanfiction

A/N: Hey guys! Here’s an extract from the first part of my new two-shot, in which Christina inherits a strange book. If you’re interested, the link to the full story is at the end!

"What are we looking at?" Ruby asked.

"A book," Christina replied.

Ruby rolled her eyes.

"I couldn't have guessed it myself. And something tells me this isn't the kind of book we want to open."

Christina touched one of the cogs on the cover, making it turn one notch to the right. They held their breaths, but nothing happened.

"We need the combination," Christina said.

She looked more closely at the mirror in the middle of it all, in case something was hidden inside. All she saw was her eye staring back at her.

"Again, should we open it?" Ruby asked. "It could be trapped. If those Butchers didn't really like your father but wanted him to have it, it probably wasn't out of the kindness of their hearts."

"I've thought of that."

Christina pulled on the straps lightly, but they wouldn't budge. She looked at the back of the book, but there was nothing. She was pulled out of her thoughts when she felt Ruby's hand on her shoulder.

"I know that you're excited about a possible new magic book, but it's locked for a reason. And I don't need to remind you that you're not as equipped to deal with magic as you used to be. The mark is one thing, but whatever's inside, it might be stronger than the mark."

Christina pursed her lips.

"What do you suggest?"

"I'm not going to stop you from trying, because I know then you'll go behind my back. Just promise me that you won't try to open it if I'm not there. I'll place a circle around the book, make sure whatever's inside is contained in case it tries to come out."

Christina looked at Ruby. Under her tutelage, Ruby had made immense progress in the past year, and she was now a very competent practitioner. Christina never tired of hearing her lover speaking so confidently about magic.

"What?" Ruby asked.

Christina pulled her into a kiss.

"Nothing. You get started on the circle, I'll go get some things that might be useful."

Northern Lights - a Wolfwren fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! Merry Christmas! This year, I decided to write a sequel to one of my earlier stories, "In this Short Life..." wherein Sabine is a singer and Shin a professional snowboarder. This is just a whole lot of Christmas fluff so I hope you'll enjoy it! Here is the beginning and the link to the full story will be at the end!

The sun was setting when Sabine’s plane landed. Winter so high up north made the days goes by in a flash. Sabine remembered it well from her childhood in Alaska. Dare she say that some winters, she missed the early nights and the snow. She certainly had the previous year, when she had celebrated Christmas with Hera and her family in Palm Spring. But this year, Shin had invited her to spend the end of year with her in Norway, and Sabine was quite excited.

She carried sunglasses and a cap to hide herself, but it seemed this far north not a lot of people cared that a platinum album artist was waiting at baggage claim with them. Stavanger had the advantage of being a fairly small airport compared to Heathrow, where she had taken her correspondence to Norway. Everyone was just staring at the turnstile, not at their neighbor. She texted Shin as she waited. Her girlfriend told her she was at the arrival gate just waiting for her. Sabine was really excited to see her again. It had been months since they had seen each other. Sabine had been busy with her tour and Shin with practice. The national selection for the winter Olympics was coming up, and Sabine was a little excited about it. Maybe even more than Shin seemed.

In short, they had both been busy. They had made long-distance work for almost two years now, and Sabine was thinking this vacation could be the beginning of the next step for them.

Sabine’s suitcase rounded the corner of the turnstile and she swept it up. No guitar this time. She wasn’t there for work, even though she knew Shin liked to hear her play. Sabine did not want to think about music for the next two weeks, at least. She had just grabbed the handle to drive it toward the exit when her phone rang out. It was Hera. Sabine picked up swiftly.

“Hey, I just landed. Can I call you back?”

“I just wanted to make sure you’d survived the London airport. It looks like you had quite a blast.”

Sabine frowned.

“What do you mean?”

“There’s a video of you singing All I Want for Christmas is You on the airport piano. It’s already approaching ten million views. Should I call the studio, offer up a Christmas album for next year?”

Sabine sighed. She’d thought the performance would placate the people swarming her for an autograph. She hadn’t expected people to be filming.

“Alright, I’m exiting the baggage claim, goodbye Hera.”

“Bye Sabine. Say hi to Shin for me.”

Sabine had just hung up when she passed through the arrival door. A handful of people were waiting for their friends and family members. Sabine looked around for Shin. At first, she could not spot her girlfriend. Then, she saw her emerge from behind a bouquet of roses. It was quite a big bouquet and had probably cost a fortune. Sabine smiled and ran up to her. She pulled Shin into a hug. Shin barely had a moment to raise the bouquet above her head before it became trapped between them.

“Hello my dashing knight,” Sabine joked.

Rock Wars - a Wolfwren fanfiction

A/N: Hello everyone! The first chapter of my long awaited rival rock bands/secret romance AU is finally up! Here is an extract and if you want to read the whole chapter the link will be at the end!

Shin glared at her.

“Sabine Wren, stalking is beneath you.”

Sabine whirled around to face the blonde.

“The only thing beneath me is you, once we crush you again.”

Shin got into her space, fiery glare finding Sabine’s eyes.

“Say that again.”

Before Sabine could, Hera grabbed her arm and pulled her away.

“I’m not letting you disqualify us before the contest has even begun.”

Sabine followed her, though she glanced back at the Nightsisters. Trilla gave her a little wave, looking smug as always. Reva had to pull Shin toward the stage. Sabine sighed and set her bass back in its case.

“Sabine, I don’t want you to come anywhere near them if you’re going to start a fight,” Hera ordered her.

“It was just a bit of pre-competition banter. I’m not going to fight them.”

Hera gave her an unconvinced look. Sabine snapped her bass case shut and picked it up. Pulling her phone from her pocket, she saw that she had received a message. The sender, Wolf, had sent a grainy, zoomed in picture of her back on stage. The caption below read ‘I think I know exactly what you should do.’ A reference to their song. Clever, she mused.

“Sabine, come on, we’re going to the VIP tent,” Ezra told her.

“I think I’m going to hang back,” she replied just as she heard the first few notes of the Nightsisters’ song. “Stake out the competition.”

Hera gave her a suspicious look.

“No fighting.”

“Girl scout’s honor,” Sabine replied, placing her phone on her chest.

Hera shook her head and didn’t comment on the fact that Sabine had never been a girl scout, and more the type of girl to prank the girl scouts. The Specters without Sabine left the backstage. Sabine turned around and watched their worst enemy perform.

And I brought Murley back because he was evidently a big star and I didn't know it. So...loth cats, who knew?? (...my dog knew. He didn't like Murley.)"

Scars Will Heal - A CindyxAlice fanfiction

A/N: Hey guys! I’m back with a new story! This is a canon divergence story where Alice and Cindy both survived the night at Camp Nightwing and are now determined to break the witch’s curse. Here’s an extract of the first chapter, and I will be updating three times a week. If you want to read more, the link to the full story will be at the end! Enjoy!

In early October, when the air would shake the last of its summer heat, it wasn't unusual to awaken to thick fog. The low clouds covered all of Shadyside for hours, and driving for even the smallest of errands became dangerous, at best. By midday, however, when the lunch break rang through the school, the fog would be gone. As the sun rose in the sky, the fog would disperse, layer by layer, so that by the time Cindy left her last morning class, only a few wisps of pale mist clung to the sidewalk.

This was what waking up in the hospital felt like, Cindy found. The heavy fog over her mind lifted, layer by layer. First, the sounds. Obnoxious, regular beeping nearby had woken her up, and for a moment, she thought it was her alarm clock. Then muted voices:

"I told him, 'Beddy, you can't just give those to kids like their candies.' I swear, one day he's gonna be in trouble, and I'll be there to say 'I told you so.'"

Sensations returned soon after, and Cindy remembered she had a body. But it was heavy, and she struggled to move even a finger. She knew she was laying down on something too soft, sinking into it a bit more with every passing second. She feared she would disappear into it completely if she didn't do anything to move. But as she tried, the pain returned. It erupted from the center of her chest and radiated over her entire body. Every breath felt like an ax to the chest.

Memories came flooding back, and Cindy's eyes opened with panic. Camp Nightwing, the trip to the witch's house, the tunnels, Tommy... She choked but realized a moment later it wasn't because of the sadness closing her throat and filling her eyes with tears. There was a tube in her throat, bringing air to her lungs, forcing her to breathe. It prevented her from speaking. She tried to reach for it when she felt a hand grabbing her own.

Her mother was leaning over her, looking somewhat more put together and yet more disheveled than usual.

"It's alright, Cindy, you're okay. You're in the hospital, you're okay."

Cindy wanted to scream that she wasn't okay, but she could only gag on the tube as she tried.

"Don't move, I'll go get a nurse."

Her mother left the room, and Cindy tried to calm herself. She was in the hospital, she was fine. She tried to take a deep, slow breath, following the rhythm of the loud ventilator beside her. New pain flared up with every breath, and exhaling wasn't any better. She remembered the ax hitting her square in the chest, but she couldn't move her head enough to see even the edge of a bandage.

Her mother returned a moment later with two nurses in tow.

"You weren't supposed to be awake yet," one of the nurses said, although Cindy had a feeling it wasn't addressed to her.

Together, they pulled the tube out of Cindy's throat. Despite the morphine floating through her bloodstream and the gentleness of the nurses, Cindy still felt like her throat was peeled from the inside. She gagged on the tube again, and every heave of her chest irradiated more pain over her ribs. When finally the tube was out, Cindy rubbed her sore jaw. A thin tube was wrapped around her ears and beneath her nose.

"The doctor will be with you in a moment," one of the nurses said. "Can I get you anything?"

"Water," Cindy huffed out with a broken voice.

She'd hoped the water would smooth the sandpaper feel of her throat. However, swallowing even the smallest amount of water made her want to scream. So she took sips every so often, hoping this one would be the one that wouldn't hurt, and being disappointed every time.

Once she felt she could speak again, she turned to her mother, who'd seated in the cozy hospital chair once more.

"Where's Ziggy?"
