Lenovo pushes Vibe Z

Lenovo has brought a new youth-oriented flagship smartphone Vibe Z, which was formerly known as K910. Model Z misappropriated metal case Vibe X and Operating System Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with the potential to upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat.

Lenovo Vibe Z grabbed a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of FullHD (1920x1080 pixels), quad-core SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 with a clock speed of 2.2 GHz and a graphics accelerator Adreno 330. Vibe Z got hold of 2 GB of RAM and two cameras: a 5MP front facing camera for video calls and a rear 13MP camera with LED-flash. The thickness of the new model is 6.9mm.

However, rounded metal body of Lenovo Vibe Z found themselves with more rounded edges than its predecessor and more spacious what became place for the second SIM-card. The battery capacity is 2500 mAh. The smartphone supports all of the standard connection options including NFC.

Jibo wants to be a part of your family

This story began with the release of a science fiction drama Bicentennial Man in 1999, the one starring Robin Williams himself! The great masterpiece is not forgotten, furthermore we can see the similar storyline today in a real world.

The robot was presented by MIT Media Lab, to be a small household assistant and for sure is not planned to replace any of the living persons at home, but being a sweet link between our world and computing. As told by Cynthia Breazeal, director of the Personal Robots Group, Jibo can be your personal photographer, messenger, video-chat avatar tracking your face position to keep a nice picture for the mate you are speaking with. He can automatically take photos or record video for your home collection using his 360-degree sound intake range and two eyes, being as well a multi-purpose camera.

11 inches high and weighing only 6 pounds robot can identify each family member using his face and voice rendering sensor in order to interact, whether it is a simple conversation or a task they are asked for. The robot boy can’t even stroll, but he can catch you with his eyes turning face-to-face in front of you. He also has touch sensors throughout his aluminum-plastic-glass body inlayed with LED lamps creating the color-lighting show when joking or amusing the guests. Two speakers allow the robo-friend to speak with people surrounding him and even to tell stories to the kids before they get asleep.

Ever wanted to have your own home secretary reminding you about upcoming events or meetings or even delivering your messages to the persons around? All these and even more may be integrated through the upcoming software, which should be installed via Wi-Fi receiver embedded.

Jibo is not available yet, but can be pre-ordered now for about $499 and shipped on Christmas of 2015. But if you choose the developer’s kit for $599 you might see it beforehand in the fall of 2015.

The new 13-inch Alienware gaming laptop will land on Earth

Alienware that is supervised by Dell has introduced a new laptop for gaming. Regarding the design the gaming PC is slightly different from the existing models by back light, but the most interesting hidden in the Alien head.

This 13-inch version of the gaming laptop is a new venture for Alienware, while the size screen for an ordinary gaming PCs includes minimum one inch more. The complex has lost weight and now it is much thinner than the current 14-inch Alienware, but still remains considerably larger than its non-gaming counterparts.

Alienware 13 will work on ultra-low-voltage processors from Intel Core the standard i7-series and mobile GPU Nvidia GeForce 860M that supports a resolution of IPS screen up to 2560x1440 pixels. There's no word about 4K resolution, possibly because it is still too highest pixel density for such a diagonal. Alienware offers to choose an 8 or 16GB of RAM and capacity each of two SSD. Other forward-looking specs are a WiFi: 802.11ac, USB 3.0 and Bluetooth 4.0.

Alienware still hides exact spec details, price, and release date.  We expect a new generations of Alien products including 13-inch laptop that will be released before the end of 2014.

Moto X flagship from America

Oculus gets us deeper into virtual reality

Our common reality has been already persuaded to change by the first DK1 then DK2 and it seems that this process will not stop in the beginning of it. Built on the basis of Developer Kit 2, a new prototype Crescent Bay is a transitional stage on the way to the next generation of Rift. And this state of DK2 should prepare us to face the new generation of Rift Developer Kit 3, which will be revealed to us a bit later.

Unlike the progenitors, the Oculus DK 3 will have 360 degrees head tracking, an extended amount of positional tracking and integrated high quality headphones fastened on the frame, which makes the sound be as exciting as the visuals. RealSpace3D audio technology used comes as the combination of HRTF dimensional and complex reverb algorithms, which creates a feeling of actual presence right in your own head. Oculus also said that game engine Unity will be set in a Free and Pro versions.

It is expected that the headset will be quite light, and will not cause swelling of the neck during prolonged usage. The performance of the device will be upgraded as well to finally end up with the annoying slowdown of the graphics, which can cause slight suspension of the picture. Prototype Crescent Bay allows you to operate only in a range of about 3 feet for the moment, but hopefully it will be improved in a retail version.

Now Oculus is open to third-party development, which can become absolutely new path of development making VR platform the most stable in the future. Oculus Rift DK 3 will not be perfect, but it must be better than others. We do not know what improvements are waiting for us and when they come in force, but we hope that they will be worthy and timely.

Olympus Stylus 1

Earlier, Olympus introduced a new generation of mirrorless camera OM-D E-M1, and now the Japanese manufacturer has another main digital compact camera - Stylus 1, also known as the OM-D Mini. Olympus Stylus 1 is fully retained the design of older model, but the word Mini clearly indicates that the new product is much less.

Olympus Stylus 1 is equipped with BSI 1/1,7” CMOS matrix with an effective resolution of 12MP and a measure of the sensitivity of ISO 100-12800. High speed operation provides the graphics processor TruePic VI which allows to saveing a series of 7 shots in just one second. The manufacturer also declared support of recording Full HD-movies (1080p, 30p) with stereo sound in RAW-format and slow-motion recording function at the frequency of 120 or 240 fps. Circle around the lens works in one of two modes: analog and digital exposure adjustment for easier manual focusing and zoom ratio control.

Olympus Stylus 1 got a new 3 "swivel touchscreen display (1.04 million pixels) with the ability to focus in a single touch and the electronic viewfinder (1.44 million pixels with 100% frame coverage and 1.15-fold increase). Application Olympus Image Share 2.1 uses a screen of smartphones and tablets as a remote viewfinder. Olympus also took care of the optical image stabilization system and the Neutral Density filter. Camera has built-in flash, the port micro-HDMI, a memory card slot SD / SDHC / SDXC and wireless adapter Wi-Fi. In addition, the camera is equipped with c GPS-module to add to pictures the information of location.

Motorola has announced Moto 360 SmartWatch

Motorola has launched their new smartwatch Moto 360. The gadget is one of the first devices with Android Wear OS, such as Samsung Gear S making it more superior comparing to the Galaxy Gear 2 and iWatch.

One of the advantages of Android Wear is the possibility to manage all of your devices around, not just connecting to the smartphone of yours. Therefore Moto 360 will be a powerful managing tool for your smart garage doors, thermostat, TV, wireless speaker etc. You also can operate your Moto 360 smartwatch by using the voice commands. Android Wear supports such common functions as text notifications reading, data fitness training, medical supervision, calls rejection or acceptance with possibility to speak with your friend not extracting your phone from the pocket  and much more. Moto 360 comes with a 1.56 inch OLED display with a resolution of 320x290 pixels (205 pixels per inch), 512MB of RAM and 4GB of built in storage. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will ship in the end of the month with a new S Pen

This week Samsung has proclaimed about new reincarnation of the most popular smartphone from the Galaxy Note series - Galaxy Note 4. Brand new device takes on board the new upgraded S Pen, which has become even lighter than before.

You could easily get the S Pen from the device's tunnel-groove to use it, but the Samsung engineers have decided that the way it used to be is still not perfect. And to be frankly, they are right, as the process of removal and placing it back is too complicated comparing to a simple notebook and pen usage, therefore this sophisticated process was improved had to be improved first of all.

Other smartphone specs were not changed. There is still a Samsung Exynos 5433 processor, Adreno 420 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal memory. There are two cameras: one are 16-megapixel and 3.7-megapixel, which can be used as a Selfie sensor together with IP67 waterproof casing resistance status. All kinds of wireless connectivity, which you may need are also supported in this device.

The new Galaxy Note 4 is equipped with S Pen stylus from Samsung making it much more easier to make the notes and drawings on the 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display.

New development from Samsung is already released in South Korea and China and is expected it will set sail to West Coast in the end of this month. Estimated date of arrival is 17th of October 2014.
