I’ve been seeing some WASP NEGATIVITY lately so just a reminder that insects are important and interesting whether you find them “cute” or not. Which btw wasps are cute actually but anyways… (also sorry for the US-centrism)

Protection

Why do I need to protect myself?

There are many dangerous or otherwise harmful energies/spirits/beings that, if you're not to careful about, may latch on to you. This could be anywhere from mildly inconvenient to downright harmful to your physical or mental health. This is much less likely to happen if you are protected.

Grounding

Grounding not only protects you, but is essential to staying strong, focused, and clear-headed. One of the easiest ways to do this is meditation. Focus on your breathing and your own energy. You can also exercise or spend some time in nature.

Asking a guide/deity

In this method, you call a higher being to you to be present with you and protect you from outside forces. Simply call to them with your intention, or in your mind, or even out loud if that makes you feel more sure.

Shielding

Sheilding is a very popular and highly recommended method of protecting yourself. The way I do it is visualizing the energy at my core, and then visualizing it growing around me. I set the boundaries and what is allowed in. This should be done every day or so, as shields weaken over time.

Crystals

Moving on to the tangible objects, crystals can be used to protect a person or space. All black crystals are grounding/protecting, but there are several others, including tiger's eye and selenite.

Symbols

There's a reason most witches have a lot of pentacles. They're an age-old symbol of protection. Wearing a pentacle on you charged with your energy and intention is a good form of protection. Other protective symbols include the evil eye, hamsa, solar cross, and triquetra.

Please tell me if I made any mistakes!

🖤 Spell Jar For Protection 🖤

🖤 Spell Jar for Protection 🖤

Ingredients/Equipment

Chilli Flakes (or Chilli Powder, whatever's around) - to ward off unwanted guests

Rosemary - purification, protection

Salt - absorbing negative energy, protection, purification

Black Pepper (both peppercorns and grounded) - banish negativity, protection from evil

3 Bay Leaves - protection from harmful energies

Protection Sigil or a Banish Negativity Sigil

Preferably Black Candle to seal the jar (white may be used as a substitute as I have done)

A Jar

A Funnel (trust me, if you don't use one shit will go everywhere, make and use a homemade paper funnel if you need to)

Spell Method

Cast a protective circle or do your own pre-spell rituals, whatever works for you and light the candle

Cleanse your equipment and ingredients (I use specific ritual incense but again whatever works for you, sage burning, etc)

Put the ingredients in the jar one at a time, repeating a chosen affirmation for protection with each one. The order doesn't nessicarily matter as the intent is what's most important. However, I recommend leaving the bay leaves until last

Use a marker to draw a sigil that represents protection or banishing negativity on at least one of the bay leaves. If you need to break up the leaves to fit them in the jar that's okay; again, the intention is what's most important

Close the jar and seal it with the wax from the candle

Missionaries are inherently xenophobic.

Missionaries to Jews are inherently antisemitic.

There is no debate here - the above statements are inescapable true. Intentions do not matter. It LITERALLY DOES NOT MATTER that Christian missionaries BELIEVE they are doing something good by saving other people from hell. IT. DOES. NOT. MATTER.

Because the people you're missionizing ALSO have beliefs, that are part of their own religions and cultures and histories and ethnicities. And your assumption that only YOUR beliefs are correct and must be spread is the LITERAL definition of xenophobia.

Missionaries and bigotry are not seperable.

If you proselytize in your personal life (congratulations, you are also a model of xenophobia and bigotry), or if you support missionaries or missionary activity (ideologically or financially), you are now being instructed to unfollow me, because I don't like you as a person, and I can't respect you while you willfully disrespect others. In either case, you are also now being instructed to cut that shit the fuck out. No one wants to hear about the love of Jesus from you, and if they do, they will ask you DIRECTLY and EXPLICITLY. Literally no one else gives a fuck.

I will be accepting apologies in writing and reparations via venmo.

Mental & Emotional Health Protection Spell Jar

image

D’you ever get those days where enough is ENOUGH and you just have to spell jar the shit out of a protection spell (shuddup that totally makes sense)? Well, that was how I felt his morning.

This here is actually my first spell jar, one to protect my mental and emotional health.

My method and ingredients are mainly based off this protection spell bottle by @greekwitchchild with a couple of minor changes.

I don’t have oak leaves to hand, so I used chamomile flowers in their place for protection, peace and happiness.

Instead of writing my sigil on a piece of paper, I wrote it on the bay leaf I used in the jar. Full disclosure - the leaf was brittle and did crumble a bit as I inserted it. So, on the fly, I added though the sigil be broken, my intent remains whole into my “spell” (saying out loud the purpose of each ingredient as I added it to the jar).

The partially burned candle and jasmine incense stick were left from a circle casting I did while meditating a couple of days of ago. So I used them again to cast my circle and purify my space while I worked.

I shall be carrying this little beauty with me as I visit my boyfriend for the next 7 days or so. Negativity can fuck right off <3

Imbolc is very near!

February 1, 2022 to February 2, 2022

What is Imbolc?

It is the start of Spring, which is a season of magical energy associated with the goddess’s feminine side, new beginnings, and fire. It’s a fantastic time to concentrate on divination and honing your own magical skills. Use these ideas to your advantage and arrange your work accordingly.

How do I celebrate Imbolc in a simple way?

1. Visit a stream, river, or water

Imbolc was traditionally a time for pilgrimages to holy water, such as a spring or a well, to purify ourselves and bring fertility to our dreams. Why not go on a family excursion to find some water near your home, such as a river, stream, or well? Splash some water on yourself if the water is pure, and establish your goal to cleanse and purify. To deliver messages of hope and healing, Glennie Kindred suggests dipping a piece of ribbon in water and then hanging it from a nearby tree (trees near water are especially sacred). She also urges us to express gratitude to the spirits of the places we visit by picking up any trash we notice nearby. (greekparent.co.uk)

2. Drink milk or spiced cider

Milk or spiced cider are good options. Set a beautiful supper table with candles, evergreen boughs, spring flowers, dragons, sun symbols, or anything else that speaks to you about Imbolc. Make use of the fine china. Allow your children to make their beds in a unique fashion to resemble Brigid’s.

3. Decorate your altar

Because Imbolc’s energy is about creating plans but not yet acting on them, letting go of old energy that no longer serves you is a crucial step to take. You can begin by emotionally clearing your altar (and your entire home if you feel the need!) as well as physically cleaning it. Wipe it down with Florida Water before replacing the towel and sweeping the sluggish energy away with a besom.

Adding a bunch of candles to your altar for Imbolc is a simple way to change it up! These are meant to welcome the light and pay homage to the goddess. Red candles can be used to further portray the fire element. Fire and the hearth are also represented by cauldrons.

NICNEVIN: SCOTTISH GODDESS OF SAMNHAIN

“In modern practice Nicnevin is believed to ride out on The Wild Hunt at Samhuinn Eve as The Queen of Elphame with her spirits and mysterious creatures, whereas others say her sacred days are 9th and 11th November. Yule or Midwinter is also said to be sacred to her. Nicnevin can be called upon for aid in otherworldly travel, communicating with spirits, protection at night, and pretty much everything within the domain of witchcraft. “
