concept art for an "All Quiet on the Western Front" graphic novel i'm currently working on
date idea i scream at my laptop playing this game and tell you useless facts about german military equipment and you watch
its the last one really
truly
when i have a crush i dont kick my feet or twirl my hair instead i am in my kitchen at 3am pacing in circles with my hands clasped behind my back like a middle-aged divorced detective haunted by a cold case he just cant crack
textures
i love people in a way i can't really explain; it's kind of like the part of humanism that praises the human condition from a physical perspective, because every time i draw or paint faces i feel kind of grateful to be able to notice details that don't really matter in general
ww1 this aviation that but the ace deck might come to life who knows
i dont play cards lmao
concepts for "historically inspired" nutcracker costumes i got the idea of a really long time ago
for clara i went with regency/early biedermeier fashion (im guessing since it was in style mostly in prussia and austria southern germany where the story takes place would have also been affected in the 1820s??)
for the nutcracker it ended up being a mix between different napoleonic era prussian hussar uniforms(late 1800s-1810s)
i dont know if want to do anything with these but at least it was fun
bonus scrapped designs for clara's dress
On November 10, 1928, the first installment of “All Quiet on the Western Front,” Erich Maria Remarque’s acclaimed novel of World War I, appeared in the German magazine Vossische Zeitung.
thank u for being here because without you i think my all quiet on the western front fixation would be struggling much much more
haha i'm glad to see you guys coming :)) this comic is the manifestation of my insatiable passion for my research and comics, but most of all for this book, so we both going through it lmao
So ignore the quality and Hans’s hair disappearance. I’ve just sat on this so long I may as well post it
