Blake: Wait- Where did Jaune grow up again? Do you know?

Ruby: Uhhh...Ansel? East of Vale? He’d go camping out in Anima though so he knew where to-

Blake: Hmmmm.... *Locking eyes with a giddy Nora*

Ruby: What? Does that matter?

Blake: Well in many regions of rural Sanus the heart goes to the youngest in the group to help them grow stronger.-

Ruby: I’m barely younger! And I don’t need a heart to g-

Blake: But on Anima, it’s a romantic gesture.

Weiss: It WHAT!?

Yang: Wha-ha-ha-hat?

Blake: It’s a confession, or if you want to be more literal, ‘I am asking permission to romantically pursue you’ it’s actually how Valentine’s Day started.

Weiss: How could that be considered romant-

Ruby: I was supposed to eat it!?

Yang: D’aaaw... poor Jauney, had his poor gross deer heart broken again...

Nora: You wish~~~

Weiss:...Ruby you didn’t-

Ruby: I didn’t even touch it!

Nora: Tell ‘em Blakey!

Blake: *Sighs* A rejection would have been tossing it on the ground, or even passing it on to another person, Ruby, you said he could have it every time?

random idea for my head cannon of jaune

walking through remnant was a long and drawn-out process. especially when you didn’t pack rations before you set out. ruby would argue that she had a lot to think about before leaving but she knew she’d screwed up. she was taught to fight not to plan a caravan. luckily jaune knew how to hunt and process his kills, sure it was sad to kill a cute bunny or a gentle deer but hey they had to eat law of nature. she only cried a little  the bad news was that jaune processed the kills while they were around. and seeing her crush bestie friend ripping the guts out of an animal before skinning it. she got a little sick to her stomach.  Jaune: “okay, ruby you want the heart?” *still got his hands covered in the deer* Ruby: *kinda scared* “what?” Nora: *gasps* “Renny it’s happening!” Ren: *pleasantly surprised* “ahead of schedule as well, congratulations ruby” Ruby: “why am I being congratulated? what’s going on” Jaune: “the hearts something that can be eaten raw, I wanted to know if you wanted it” Ruby: “okay funny guys, really funny. you almost had me” *looks around* “you’re joking, right?” Jaune: “as serious as a heart attack” Nora: *gasps* Ren: *smiles happily* Ruby: “I couldn’t” jaune: “I don’t mind, you should have it” Ren: *shakes his head, still smiling* Nora: *pantomimes eating* Ruby: *panicking*  “YOU EAT IT!” Nora: “ohmygodohmygodohmygod,” *grabs ren by the shirt and shakes him* “IT’S HAPPENING!” jaune: *shrugs and takes a bite out of the heart like an apple* Nora/Ren: *applauding* Ruby: *face pales* *softly to herself* “what the heck” ———————————————————————————————————– so fun fact about deer hearts they can be eaten raw. in vale the heart is traditionally given to the youngest member of the group to help them grow strong in minstral the heart is given to someone you care about and is seen as something romantic  in the kingdoms, proper no one eats deer heart  so three different things were happening during this story for Nora and ren, it was jaune giving a romantic gesture (a very major one) to ruby who then reciprocated (in a major way) basically announcing that they would be courting each other  jaune made a kill and as a skilled hunter offered the best part to ruby who was the youngest as a gesture to show he cared about her. but she didn’t like deer heart so he ate it for her ruby just watched her … jaune, kill an animal rip its guts out through its butt cut off its skin then eat the heart out of it still raw after offering it to her

Jaune’s and/or Yang’s auras adjusting based off ‘idiot isn’t gonna stop hugging the living bonfire’ or ‘he’s not even flinching anymore, just let him in’ is somehow the most in character dragonslayer metaphor I’ve seen in a bit.

I’d imagine Yang being low/mid-key clingy, she’d probably be touch-starved to hell and back.

And I’ve always liked the idea of Jaune calling Yang ‘Sunshine’, in this case he’d also call her ‘Sunburn’ when snark warrants it.

Dragonslayer headcanon au

Yang's skin litterally burn like a sun and no wanta to touch her. Until she meets a guy that is somehow immune to her buring skin

Jaune and Neo fight, Neo is winning until Jaune traps her in a bear-hug. Jaune doesn't know what to do at that point because if he lets go she'll just be start winning or escape again, so he just turns on his heel and starts running with Neo squirming to get free. That's what everyone sees when they get to Schnee Manor. Neo is 'captured', but oddly cozy.

Jaune helps Oscar stand up as Neo comes running around a corner, looking for the exit. The three of them stare at each other for a moment. 

Jaune: “I don’t have the aura or the time to fight you The AceOps are about to detonate a bomb and take this whole place out” 

Neo, not believing him, brandishes Hush

Jaune knows he can’t leave without the Relic. They fight for a few moments. It seems like Neo could win until Jaune grabs her in a tight hug. 

Neither of them know what to do for a moment until Oscar yells at them to run. 

[Later]

Jaune and Oscar arrive at the front line of the Atlesian trenches. RNBW had come out to meet RYE already.

Jaune crosses the battlefield and walks up to Yang: “Oscar, and the Relic” Calling back to her questions the night before. He had finally gotten them both back

Neo gave up struggling after the bomb detonated. The knight had been telling the truth. But as long as she didn’t let go of the Relic, he didn’t let go of her. 

Yang: “So, everyone is just okay with this?”

Weiss, sitting on her staircase. Her home was slowly turning into a refugee camp: “I say we take the win...”

Taiyang: Yang, where?

Ruby: Don’t tell-

Yang: *Playing on her scroll* Across the hall, blond guy.

Ruby: Yang! How could you!

Taiyang: Ruby, I just wanna talk to him...

Ruby: Dad! Jaune’s nice! you don’t have to-

Taiyang: *Knocking on JNPR’s dorm room door* I just wanna shoot him...

Ruby: Daddy no!

Taiyang: *Still knocking* Daddy yes!

Jaune: *Opens door, in pajamas* Hello?

Taiyang: Jaune Arc?

Jaune: Yes?

Ruby: Jaune get bac-!

Taiyang: *Levels shotgun with Jaune’s chest and fires, knocking Jaune back into the room*

Ruby: *Screams, running in after him*

Taiyang: Listen, Sweetie, I know that seems drastic but there are-

Yang: *Walking into the hall* Waaait for it...

Taiyang: What? Wait for-

Jaune: Ahhhh, ow that hurts...fuuuck...this was my last clean shirt...

Taiyang:...what?

*Both Xiao Longs look through the doorway. Just in time to see Ruby pulling what was left of Jaune’s t-shirt off, revealing a massive bruise on the boy’s chest, but no other visible injury*

Taiyang: What?

Yang: Yeah, didn’t work when I tried that either, Loverboy is...sturdy...

Taiyang: That should have at least knocked him- *Gets tackled by Prof. Port*

Yang: *Sitting down by her quickly hogtied father* At least I did mine when he had armor on, did even less...

Taiyang: This could not get worse...

Yang: Well, Ruby did have fun playing nurse last time, I don’t know if they ended up at second base or third by the end, Ruby wouldn’t say, you might wanna send some condoms along with your apology note, Wingman-in-law.

Taiyang: *Groans against the floor*

Ruby: daddy i have a boyfriend

Tai: really?

Ruby: his name is jaune.

Tai:(holding a shotgun) and where does jaune live?
