i love books omggg š«¶š«¶ what's your favorite book? mine is crime and punishment by fyodor dostoevsky !
oh my god there are so many books to read and instruments to learn and languages to speak and poems to write and oranges to eat and ideologies to study and songs to sing and films to watch and people to kiss and
nothing is as tender as annotating your favourite books. itās like leaving a piece of your heart on the pages for somebody else to find.
āAnd into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soulā
ā John Muir
i think having āhaving a coke with youā with you by mark leidner is the greatest love poem of all time
āOpiniated History of Mathematicsā is a Spotify podcast that I listened to at the beginning of the year because I was intrigued by how opinionated one could really be about tHe HisTORy oF mATheMATics. I was pleasantly surprised because not only was this guy OPINIONATED AS FUCK, he was OBSESSED with slandering Galileo and every single opinion of his was a super hard hit or a massive miss.
Highly recommend playing some video games and listening to a few episodes. Unfortunately, I stopped because he started insulting teachers and I think he even quoted āthose who can, do. those who canāt, teachā.Ā And by that point he just kept repeating the same opinions over and over and it was getting stale.
Overall, a solid 7/10 experience.
large textbooks filled with extra papers which hold the answers to the problems you thought were too brilliant to be thrown away, or the simple short summary of a part you were struggling to understand before
having your textbook absolutely ruined by highlighters and sticky notes all over it, those little tips and ideas you picked up from the lesson. anyone who opens that book immediately knows that youāve studied the crap out of it and know the concept by heart.Ā āthis is the most annotated book iāve ever seenā is literally the highest form of compliment for me.
solving math or chemistry problems to a soundtrack album or ambient sounds, extra points if itās in afternoon lol
when youāre so focused and keen on getting to the final answer that your hand physically canāt keep up with your eagerness so you end up with the most incoherent solution. but youāve finally got the answer right!
being self-taught in a subject or a few chapters of the textbook, and still smashing the quizzes and the exams
coming up with a new solution to the problem, or seeing the problem from a new perspective, and finally being able to solve it because of just that.
confidently walking out of the exam room. 0 doubt in your mind that you crushed it!
actually feeling how youāve grown academically, and how much more knowledgeable you are compared to the beginning of the semester
casually and confidently having conversations with a professor about your studies, exchanging ideas and discussing the existing theories, methods, on-going research and all
all of this is everything i want in life- godĀ
