This is probably gonna sound ridiculous to some because they couldn’t get married in that day and age and they’re dead in the Arctic. BUT I think that if crozier and fitzjames had gotten married, James would have taken Crozier as his last name because it would make him feel like he belonged to someone. It would make his name not feel like a bad pun anymore. Anyywaaayyyy
