Favourite daughter!
Yeah, we are fucked up
One of my favorite Sanji headcanon's is that he has the best sea legs of the crew, tied w/ Jimbei after he joins. But he also absolutely has the WORST land legs when they make landfall.
I think this because, prior to Kamabakka, the longest period he spent on actual land seems to be starving on a rock with Zeff.
I totally buy that Germa likely had some sort of stabilizing tech on their snails, definitely in medical and engineering areas. You need a measure of stability in your evil laboratory.
But any ocean-going vessel does need to actually move with the sea. Otherwise, it won't move at all. So, I think other areas were less stabilized.
Thus, Sanji went from weird snails that swim the seas, to cruise ship, to trauma rock, to a restaurant ship before joining the Straw Hats. Moving on a ship likely feels more natural to him than on land.
I think he has trained himself to adjust pretty quickly, as a necessity, and also because the Mosshead definitely would call it out. But even still, his first few steps on any island are not as graceful as his usual stride.
Okay, ramble done.
I just love this page. Atsushi realizes that he almost lost someone who he never took the time to understand. this boy, this stranger, who has burrowed so deep into his mind, who has been completely incomprehensible to him, who died for him, is, beneath it all, just like him. they're the same. they always have been.
its regret. about the words he's said, the wound's he's inflicted, the fact that he did not see the boy right in front of him. he walked away, a specter, misunderstood, never being told that its okay for him to live. okay for him to exist in this world.
for the first time, he thinks he understands akutagawa ryuunosuke and its breaking his heart. he's breaking his heart.
the most beautiful ending was for sukuna (and uraume) because not only did we get a good afterlife scene of him going north for and with uraume but gege also showed in the epilogue how he was always destined to go north because he was always a chill guy and had depth, despite keeping an aloof demeanor. He took uraume and raised them like he was always meant to be an amazing father. What he did was a reaction to how he was treated but at the very core he always carried light. Ending the manga with "how did YOU not grow cold with me uraume?" to uraume's first "how are you not cold next to me sukuna-sama?" was the most beautiful way to describe their relationship, they both might have seemed cold to others but they were a source of warmth for each other, both of them kept the other intact in some way. Ride and die for eternity.
It reminds me of the quote, "when is a monster not a monster? Oh when you love it"

This truly was our Jujutsu Kaisen
THEY ARE BACK!! I can't believe my two fav characters of my two fav mangas are back on the same month!! And after so much time!
the fact that atsushi saw akutagawa was alive and thought 'i must save him', not out of 'i must save him so we can defeat this villain' but simply out of 'alive. must save'
which is his default thinking at any point but isn't it ✨️refreshing✨️ for akutagawa to be part of this mindset
Asagiri loves fake out deaths so much that both Yosano and Fyodor's abilities are, LITERALLY, fake out deaths.
