The Rabbit and the Moon

There once was a young rabbit who loved to gaze upon the stars. She told her mother that she wanted to visit the moon one day and gift her with a clump of its soil, so that her rings could always shine with the most beautiful golden light.

Before she could fulfill her promise, her mother had fallen ill and passed away. Her final wish to the young Eevee was that she look to the moon when loneliness looms and be reminded she’ll always be here, watching over her.

Young December wandered alone for many months, longing for her mother’s loving embrace that would never come again. When loneliness shrouded her world, she visited her favorite clearing and looked up. Up at the moon and the stars where she would find comfort in their light.

Upon a shooting star dashing across the sky, she made a wish. A simple wish to go to the moon like she always wanted so she could be with her mom again. Believing it was wishful thinking something like that could happen, she retreated for the night.

In 2011, there were 10.

In 2012, there were 14.

In 2013? 28.

In the first half of 2014 alone, we have already suffered 38 school shootings. 

If that doesn’t horrify you, then I don’t know what would.

Glass Barrier

My glass barrier hides my pain so that no one has to deal with it, and is almost impossible to break. Of course, it cracks and my emotions spill out some times, but only a few have completely shattered it and saw who I really am.
