Did this over on twitter after seeing a template that made me think of them. I tried my hand at a cartoony style. Vox is bi-panicking and Almis ace-confused

First rough concept of a Lobster for my fantasy comic about bugs (And arthropods!).

Def gonna do a few more tries~

There are comics someone made that they never put online. There are statues in a small town that no one has taken a photo of. There are books which haven’t been translated, illustrations left unscanned, art still yet to be discovered. There’s a lot of hidden humanity outside.

There were a lot of freshwater mussels on the 2021 US extinction list. They didn’t leave us with haunting recordings of them calling out for a mate they’d never meet, there were no drawings in vivid color. They were extremely important nevertheless and their loss is frustrating too. That’s why stream ecology and mollusks have always fascinated me. They were silent, stalwart little heroes and entire species were lost to pollution.

I’ve got a thing for Vox being a fuckboi who keeps thinking their tension is gonna lead to hate sex. 😂

wanted to try my hand at a vintage vox design! i was REALLY inspired by 2013 baby vox and his black and white screen (and by vox in @mothballmilkshake ‘s Competing Frequencies, just write that fic on my tombstone at this point)
