It's warhammer. All human bones come from the Holy Human Form, and are therefore holy bones.
sisters collecting some potentially holy bones
He could have realized that he's good enough. He could have come to terms with his need to be the best, instead of being consumed by it and spat out. He could have not lost his brother and best friend because of pride.
‘if only fulgrim didn’t pick up the sword he could have’ could have what. could have what. stayed under the oversight of a distant father figure? kept pressuring himself and his sons to be perfect and flawless all the time? been disposed of when he’d served his purpose? i hate you
That model is still less gay than the original Dark Angels.
Ironic that a book about women writers and feminism starts its chapter on science fiction by ignoring the presence of a very important woman writer.
Yes, this does count as an aerospace question. And yes, their aerodynamics are quite bad. They would not fly very well with modern technology.
That "with modern technology" part is the key word, there. Because according to the lore, a lot of them can canonically fly very well.
Most canon speeds for 40k aircraft are 2000 kph or more, at about a mile above sea level. The speed of sound at that altitude is a bit over 1200 kph, for reference. Having 20,000+ km of range (eg they could fly from anywhere on earth to anywhere else on earth) isn't uncommon, either.
Many are also single-stage-to-orbit spacecraft (meaning that when they go to space, they take the entire spacecraft with them, and don't have boosters that they drop partway up like real world rockets), and all of those are reusable (meaning they can make multiple flights to and from orbit) and able to withstand reentry without any heat shielding beyond whatever armor they might have (and they are armored, with larger craft like the Thunderhawk being similar in durability to heavier tanks like Land Raiders).
There are a few conclusions you can draw from that.
Any of these aircraft would experience immense drag when flying (or when reentering the atmosphere). Not only does this mean that their airframes would need to be able to withstand the stress from that drag, they also need engines powerful enough to push them against it.
The combination of their range and single-stage-to-orbit capacity (and payload) means that they are powered by something far more energy-dense than any real world fuel.
I have a feeling that a space marine (talking about in armour here btw) might actualy be more earodynamic than any of the space marine planes
You know what? Yeah
THE PRIMARCHS - Sons of the Emperor (NEW!) I've made a bunch of tweaks and improvements to my Primarch chart, including a bigger key, better lighting and shading and better contrast. With this project, I wanted a diverse set of Primarchs to reflect more of the human race. - Dorn as an Inuit - Lorgar as Levantine (Christ) - Alpharius as Persian (Order of Assassins) - Corax as Native American (Cree) - Horus & Magnus as Egyptian With better lighting I can show that vision more clearly
Slaanesh is the god of obsession and excess, first and foremost.
What is a Space Marine most likely going to become obsessed with? Battle.
A whole chunk of the legion probably went the same route as Eidolon, doing whatever off-the-rails experiments on augmenting themselves to become better marksmen or swordsmen or whatever else (side note: sniper marines aren't done enough as a concept). They didn't do this because they were worse than the average marine from other legions, they did this because they wanted to be better than everyone around them.
Also, in Fulgrim, we see how Space Marines react to arousal in the Maraviglia. What do they do? They start killing the people around them.
The Flanderization of Slaanesh is one of the worst things to happen to the Emperor's Children's characterization. Slaanesh is not the god of sex.
everyone thinks EC are pushover stupid self absorbed weaklings and I think if that’s how you conceptualize us hust because we like partying and body modification and music and drugs. if you think we aren’t still the poets and artists and musicians and composers and so much more under all that. I love the "the navy would love to have you" "not gay enough yet".
theyre unlocking new types of guy over on reddit apparently
I like this perspective on what a dream job is. I'd probably still do what I want to do now: find new, improved ways of blowing up massive amounts of explosives in a vaguely controlled manner with people on top of them.
The people who say shit like "I don't dream about labour" when asked about their dream job make me sad. It's not their fault and it's an obvious conclusion to come to in the environment that we live in, but they really do seem to make no difference between work, and being exploited. You do want to work, it is inherent human nature to want to do things, you just don't want to slave for shit wages while making profit for someone else.
If art wasn't an option and I didn't have to worry about being profitable, I know what I would be doing: Keep a little shop selling secondhand-thirdhand buttons and buckles.
Thrift shops and secondhand stores could dump (or sell, whatever) their unsold and unwanted goods to me, and I could spend all day going through the heaps and picking them apart, plucking the still-perfectly-good buttons, zippers and buckles out of discarded things with threadbare fabrics and sell them.
Probably also making those little trinket storage boxes out of hollowed-out books. By hollowing out books that nobody wanted or read.
Femboys, Warhammer 40,000, Battleships, and whatever else crosses my mind
