Since a lovely anon asked for the nighttime version of this routine, here it is!

Ok love your thoughts on Animorphs tv series pacing. Hear me out: episode 1? Starts with *David’s* POV finding the cube, being attacked by Visser three and “rescued” by the animorphs, and given morphing power. Episode 2 starts with book 1 and progresses normally through the series from there
I think like “Machete order”, this really reframes the slow escalation of paranoia, and in episode one when these strangers show up and are like “Yes david you have to abandon your parents, they can’t be saved” you’re like “fuck these guys”
But by episode [redacted] of meeting david in animorphs pov, youre like “DAVID YOU MORON THEYRE LOST TO US GET IN THE FUCKING CAR”
And Jake goes from episode one “David, face reality, shit’s bad and your parents are a loss” to episode two Jake “of course i can save Tom”.
I love this, because it's a great way to throw the viewers right into the story. In the original series, it was necessary to give us some kind of origin for the Animorphs — it's a superhero story convention, it's important in a kids' series, it gives out exposition nice and slow, and it sets the tone of the books. However, there are a lot of things like "touching this box lets you turn into animals" and "the enemy are sea slugs who live in brains and eat in a cavern under the school" that you can simply show on TV without having to tell anyone. Concepts like "andalite navy" and "kandrona" can be conveyed with a few shots, so there's no need to have a scene where Elfangor explains them to Jake or brain-dumps them to Tobias.
This adaptation would probably lean more toward YA than middle grade, because it'd require trapping and/or killing the focal character, but I think YA would make sense for an Animorphs adaptation. YA series are more able to depict violence and body horror than children's shows, and Animorphs isn't Animorphs without realistic violence and body horror. There's also a lot of potential for making the conflict between David and Jake even more complex than it is in canon, if we don't see why Jake is the leader, only a bunch of his close friends insisting that it's for the best.

- Jake, I cannot believe you’re gonna lose Nana’s apartment. We grew up together. We used to hang out there every day after school.
Dick marries Kori and becomes the king of Tamaran. He leads the efforts in terraforming Venus to become “New Tamaran.” Thus bringing together Human and Tamaranian in what many are calling a “new golden age.” However he is nowhere near as famous as his daughter, Princess Mar'i Grayson, whom the media quite absolutely adores. His story arc would focus on fighting off Anti-Tamaranian terrorists and dealing with race relations in the media.
Jason rules over an immense Yakuza-esque criminal syndicate that punishes the worst of the worst. His relationship with the others is strained but they all still love him. His story arc would center around coming to terms with himself and Bruce after rescuing Duke Thomas off the streets and taking him on as his ward.
Tim takes over the mantel of Batman alongside Cass (focusing mainly on Justice League affairs) as well as Wayne Enterprises, growing the company to twice it’s former glory. His story arc mainly revolves around him dealing with corporate espionage and struggling to fill Bruce’s Legacy on the world stage.
Cass takes over the mantel of Batman (focusing mainly on Gotham) and creates a world class charity that helps those in need around the world. Her story arc revolves around her learning to become a mentor for Helena and dealing with everything that goes on in Gotham.
Damian becomes the leader of the League of Assassins, turning those who follow him into a force for good. Not all of the league follows him though and he remains at war with them in the shadows: “The Right Hand of the Demon.” His story arc would center around him coming to terms with his identity amidst the mess that his Grandfather had created.
Helena becomes Robin under Cass and still has yet to grow to her full potential. The hungry media gobbles up any information they can get their hands on, all speculating what the next “Wayne Wonderchild” will go on to accomplish. Her arc would center around trying to step out from Cass and her father’s shadow and go out on her own to try and be her own hero eventually leading to the reformation of the Teen Titans.

Idk what the rest of the Batfam would be doing but I do know that Barbara would eventually become the President of the United States.
AU where (somehow) Palpatine becomes Emperor and all that jazz without killing off the Jedi, but before they can like... DO anything to fix it, Anakin (recently implied imperial heir and visibly off his rocker) has a meltdown of absolutely horrific proportions and beheads Palpatine on live television, then declares that he's installing Padme, his WIFE whom he adores VERY MUCH, as Empress.
Padme isn't even THERE, she's busy giving birth on Naboo and nobody's had the guts to tell her about the whole Empire situation. IDK maybe Anakin begged Obi-Wan to look after her while Obi-Wan was on a forced leave and got a "Well, I've certainly nothing better to do" in response, and Padme and Obi-Wan are both kinda bougie, they're on an ~*~electronics cleanse~*~ while Padme rides out the end of her pregnancy.
"Don't contact us unless it's an emergency," they said, not anticipating that people would fail to tell them about the fall of democracy.
Realistically, the Jedi manage to Handle the Anakin problem (which, like, nobody's that upset about someone tackling him in the middle of the Senate to take him down after what he just pulled, there are OBVIOUS justifications for this arrest, holy shit), and then let democracy come back before Padme ever finds out, and really someone should have told her and Obi-Wan the second Palpatine went "hey, I should have a crown, and absolute power, and also the opportunity to torture Anakin for shits and giggles," but I just think it would be really funny for her and Obi-Wan to come back to Coruscant, twins in hand, only to find out that Palpatine was a Sith Lord, the Republic is an Empire THAT NOW BELONGS TO PADME, and Anakin lost his mind so spectacularly that he now thinks presenting Palpatine's severed head to her on bended knee upon her return to Coruscant is somehow a good idea.
Maybe the Jedi just decided that, since Palpatine was a Sith anyway, and Anakin isn't really DOING much while warming the seat for his absent wife, they could just... wait for her and Obi-Wan to come back and knock some sense into him. Less of a risk of a Jedi getting hurt trying to arrest him?
