30 days of shadow work challenge
hey everyone! i’ve found myself in a bit of a journalling/shadow work rut and thought i would give myself a little challenge to do for the next 30 days. i know that this is pretty common for a lot of people, so i thought i would share my challenge with you so we can keep each other accountable and do some reflective work 🤍 obviously you don’t have to do all 30 days, and this can purely be a prompt list if you need it! you can join in whenever you like 🤍
what is something you wish you could be doing right now? what’s stopping you?
if you could receive the truthful answer any question of your choice, what would you ask? why? what response would you hope for?
if you could change anything about your childhood, what would it be?
name 3 of your least favourite things about yourself. then challenge them - why do you think that way? what could you do to change?
what relationships in your life bring you joy and which ones don’t?

write a letter to someone who hurt you - no matter how long ago. write everything you wish you could say to them, every emotion that comes up. burn, tear apart or flush away the letter
how would you treat yourself if you were a young child? how could you make them feel loved? see where you could incorporate that into your life
what triggers your temper most? why does it make you angry/frustrated/sad?
if you had everything you ever wanted, what would your life look like?
what emotions or feelings do you avoid? why?
what are your core values? do they align with the life you’re living right now?
what do you hate about yourself and why do you hate it? did someone tell you you should?
what negative patterns keep repeating in your life?
when you lash out, what part of you wants to be protected?
what is something you fear others knowing about you? why do you fear it?
in what ways do you consciously or unconsciously punish myself?
what is a grudge/instance that you are holding onto that no longer serves you? why are you holding on to it? how can you let it go?
what are your pet peeves? where do you think they come from?
when was the last time you felt wronged by someone?
when are you the hardest on yourself? why? can you find a way to be kinder to yourself?
how do you respond to situations that make you angry?
what are you the most proud of in your life?
in what ways are you hypocritical?
when am i my truest, most authentic self?
what advice would you give to yourself 5 years ago?
what boundaries do i need to set and reinforce in my life?
what things make you feel the most alive and present?

here I will leave some very useful tips for those who have been in practice for some time, as well as for beginners. I hope this text will illuminate and help each one on their way! ✨

• to do energy cleaning in your home, put in a glass: water, coarse salt and charcoal. position it behind the entrance door.
• bury egg shells in a pot or in your home garden to ensure abundance and fertility in your home.
• do not put the ashes left over from the incense out, they can be reused in making the black salt.
• burn dry rosemary to attract protection, purification, psychic abilities and openness for healing.
• to attract positive energies to you, spread several mirrors around your home, just avoid those with sharp details on your edge. they also help to clear the mind.
• to ward off any bother that is bothering you, write the key words of the situation on a white candle. light the candle and ask the fire beings to burn this evil that you want to destroy.
• make a wreath with chamomile flower and hang it on the door to protect the environment throughout the year from physical and spiritual damage.
• use cinnamon to improve your individual skill with prophecy through divination, channeling and working with oracles.
• when making your own oils, use olive oil and dried herbs of your choice.
• press and store rosemary leaves in your books. this will increase your wisdom during your studies and your memory, making you learn more easily.
• burn some thyme on your altar to clean up your magic space. thyme when burned with incense strengthens psychic power.

Spiritual hygiene is basically keeping yourself, cleansed, protected and grounded spiritually. People tend to try and do this through daily practices, which for some can be hard to upkeep. As someone with depression and can be lazy at times- sticking to routines can be difficult for me. So here’s some “basics” you can try to slowly add to your day to day that will give you a regular spiritual hygiene routine.
Cleanse yourself when you shower: This can be as simple as asking the water to cleanse you while you shower. Sometimes showering can be hard- for times like this i recommend a cleansing spray. Quick and fairly low spoons. But if you want to put more energy into this step you can enchant your soap/body wash for cleansing, hang eucalyptus above your shower and ask it to cleanse you, make a shower sachet, use spellcrafted oils for cleansing, ect.
Enchant your jewelry and/or skincare for protection: Obviously this one is for when you feel up to doing an actual spell. But, once its done you can just put your jewelry or skincare on for the day and be good to go. Every once in awhile take a moment to check in with your jewelry/items and see if it needs to be cleansed (or make a jewelry cleansing bowl) or needs to be re-enchanted.
Ground yourself when you wake up: once you wake up take even a minute to ground and center yourself. This works both if youre a person like myself who needs to lay in bed for a few minutes before getting up, or if youre a crazy person whos ready to go right away.
Even doing these three things through the week will help build you a strong spiritual hygiene routine and daily practice. Remember to take your time when building a daily practice, and forgive yourself if it’s not done everyday. ✨🫶🏻
