Creating boundaries in your witchcraft is healthy, respect your own boundaries and don't let anyone give you shit because of them
Taking care of yourself is just as important as researching your practice, you need to be okay before anything else
Making your craft accessible to your mental and/or physical disabilities is a right, not a privilege
Witchcraft can 100% be used as a coping skill for mental illness (as long as it is practiced carefully and realistically)
You do not ever need to disclose your craft to anyone
You are not less of a witch for having different needs than Neurotypical or Non-disabled people
Your craft is as unique as you are and that is a good thing
No. You don’t have to wait. There is no prerequisites for being accepted into witchcraft. You wanted to be a witch and now you’re a witch. End of story. Now, I would advice you work on meditating and protection because you’re just gonna need it on your journey, but to flat out say you’re not allowed to do anything else but protection and meditation for a disclosed amount of years or whatever, that’s ridiculous. Do what feel is calling you.
You shouldn’t tell people how to work their damn craft. If they want to hex or curse you let them. Hell, a few practices see cursing and hexing as major part of their ancestors history. If you don’t want to curse/hex don’t. But you don’t get to tell me or anyone else what to do like that. So try again.
Absolutely not. No you don’t. It is your magic. Yours! You know your limits, your strengths and what you can do. The spell will adjust. Use what you can. Do not worry about doing it down to the letter. Yes there are main components to a spell but even they can be altered to what you have. It’s about intent! INTENT! Do not think for a moment that you have to bend over backwards to a spell “correctly”. That’s just how they did it and that’s okay. Just follow the main points, I assume you know common sense, and you should be fine.
Finally someone said it!
Why are ‘witch tips’ always like “use quartz as a substitute for any crystal!” and not the good stuff like “River spirits are almost always looking to fuck shit up, so if you rile em up and then feed them a name, they’ll lay someone tf out.”
Nuala Archer, From The hour of Pan/amá; “Longing for community, Portrait Series: Plague of Inc.’est”
Color correspondence lists are only as useful as they resonate with you. If you intensely hate yellow, it is not going to represent happiness effectively in your spellwork. If healing is blue and calm instead of green and lively for you, you're not wrong. These things are not truly universal--they bear cultural and personal meaning.
As I've said before, I use red for boundaries, and it works damned well for me. It might not for you, though. Try to make your own list of color correspondences, instead of assuming one in a book or on someone's blog is perfect for you.
