Good Morning To Those Who Wish People A Good Morning, Those Who Mean That It Is A Good Morning Whether

Good morning to those who wish people a good morning, those who mean that it is a good morning whether anyone wants it or not, those who feel good this morning, those who feel it is a morning to be good on, those who suppose they mean all of these at once when they say good morning, those smoking a pipe of tobacco out of doors in the morning, and those who never thought they’d see the day they’d be good-morninged by Belladonna Took’s son.

If you live in Wisconsin make sure to vote for Brad Schimel in the Supreme Court Elections on April 1st (this Tuesday). He's running against a far left judge and if he wins, the Republicans take control of the WI supreme court. If he loses, WI will redistrict before the midterms and remove two Republican seats, which will seriously threaten the slim majority Trump has in congress. I know non-presidential year elections fall under the radar, but this one is important. Vote. Get your friends and family to vote. Anyone you know who likes Trump should be voting in this election.

The ACA is why insurance is so darn expensive. If insurance has to take on more risk and pay out more for "preventive" services then they have to jack up the costs to make money. The federal subsidies are the only way this is affordable. Too bad we can't just make it possible for people to shop around and compare pricing for medical services so the free market can regulate pricing.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

The ACA *subsidizes* insurance for anyone who makes less than 400% of the federal poverty line. *And* it mandates insurers cover anyone regardless of prior illness with no lifetime caps, *and* cover a broad range of essential services. https://t.co/BHJPq5MgLF

— Matthew Chapman (@fawfulfan) January 17, 2024
The ACA also regulated pricing of insurance plans, so insurers can't arbitrarily jack up prices without an explanation, and required them to spend corporate profits on care if they exceed a certain level.

And employer-provided plans were required to cover essential services too.

— Matthew Chapman (@fawfulfan) January 17, 2024
There was basically no insurance for individuals before the ACA. Plans that did exist could be denied or revoked for any reason, or exclude basic things like checkups or preventative care.

If you didn't have insurance from your employer, you were screwed. And maybe even then.

— Matthew Chapman (@fawfulfan) January 17, 2024
The ACA also expanded Medicaid, turning it from a tiny safety net for low-income families into a broad-based free public insurance plan available to anyone making up to 138% of the federal poverty line.

In 2010, just 54 million people were on Medicaid. Now it's 88 million.

— Matthew Chapman (@fawfulfan) January 17, 2024
And all of this expansion of health care was financed by new payroll taxes on the ultra-wealthy.

The ACA was the largest transfer of wealth from the rich to the poor since the Great Society. Which is why the GOP hated it and spent a decade trying to kill it.

— Matthew Chapman (@fawfulfan) January 17, 2024
This is why it's wrong to claim, as many do, the ACA was "originally a right-wing plan from the Heritage Foundation."

The Heritage plan was *just* to fine people with no coverage. None of the other stuff. No subsidies, no consumer protections, no Medicaid, no taxing the rich.

— Matthew Chapman (@fawfulfan) January 17, 2024
All of that stuff was a progressive Democratic health care plan.

And it was so successful that people just take it for granted now that this is how insurance works. They don't even remember how bad it was before Obama, Biden, and congressional Democrats came in and fixed it.

— Matthew Chapman (@fawfulfan) January 17, 2024
Can we do more? Absolutely. Some states are looking to create public options in the ACA exchanges where people can buy into Medicaid, to get to true universal health care.

But it's worth noting, these proposals are only possible because they build on top of what the ACA created.

JUST A FEW LIES ABC NEWS LET KAMALA GET AWAY WITH

JUST A FEW LIES ABC NEWS LET KAMALA GET AWAY WITH

CLAIM: Vice President Kamala Harris claimed Tuesday during a debate with former President Donald Trump that there were currently no active-duty troops in any combat zone anywhere around the world for the first time this century.

VERDICT: False. There are currently active duty U.S. troops deployed to Iraq and Syria who have been under frequent attack by Iran-backed militia forces over the past year. There are also thousands of active-duty U.S. sailors deployed to the Middle East who are facing attacks by drone strikes and missiles fired by the Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen. Earlier this year, three U.S. soldiers were killed on the border of Syria by Iran-backed forces.

CLAIM: “The Trump administration resulted in a trade deficit — one of the highest we’ve ever seen in the history of America,” Harris said.

VERDICT: FALSE. The trade deficit climbed to around $653 billion in Trump’s final year as president, in part because of depressed global demand for U.S. goods and services and a U.S. economy that recovered sooner than most other developed economies. But it never rose to the levels seen under President George W. Bush or the Biden-Harris administration. In fact, the trade deficit under Biden-Harris has never been as low as it was under Trump

CLAIM: Harris claimed that she supports Israel, after Donald Trump said she “hates” it.

VERDICT: MOSTLY FALSE. Harris has hired radical anti-Israel advisers and threatened to cut off weapons to Israel if it entered Rafah, she ignored Netanyahu on his most recent visit (after she was the presumptive nominee) not meeting him at the airport and boycotting his speech to congress to instead go to a sorority party, she offers only rhetorical support of Israel .

CLAIM: Harris INCORRECTLY labeled Trump tariff plan as a national sales tax. And claimed his tax would raise prices to consumers by $4000 a year.

Verdict: false. Inflation was very low during Trump’s presidency, including after his imposition of tariffs. In the first year of his presidency, prior to the imposition of tariffs, the consumer price index rose by 2.13 percent. In 2018, consumer prices rose by two percent. In 2020, prices rose by 2.5 percent. In 2021, prices rose by just 1.3 percent. By contrast, inflation soared under the Biden-Harris administration. In 2021, consumer prices rose 7.2 percent. In 2022, prices rose 6.4 percent. Last year, prices rose 3.2 percent.

CLAIM: Kamala Harris said: “Donald Trump left us the worst unemployment since the Great Depression.”

VERDICT: FALSE. Unemployment was 6.4% in January 2021 when trump left office, lower than it was in 2014, under Obama. Unemployment spiked to 14.8% in April 2020, only because of coronavirus-related shutdowns in democrat run states, When Biden took office, they inherited an economy that was already recovering.

That's how you justify being violent yourself? That's just an excuse. Because the media is against him. You aren't fighting genocide, you're trying to bring harm to some dude who thinks he's funny because you can't just brush him off as some internet idiot. Genocide is a big word and we shouldn't cheapen it just because some of the most privileged people in the world can't can't form a decent argument. Fight back with words. Saying things like "genocidal freaks need to be silenced" is horrible; are you going to commit the genocide to silence them? There is already a Seattle family mourning because their daughter committed murder for politics. Politics aren't that bad. Go outside and talk to your neighbors. Spend time with your family and enjoy the holiday. And if you do get violent I hope you rot in prison.

"i love you" should be platonic by default and if you want to use the phrase romantically, that's on you to clarify

Okay I'm finally doing the rant!

Even if somebody deserves to die (which is not our judgement to make) or needs to die for the safety of others (which is also a difficult judgement to make and must be a last resort) their death is still a tragedy and should never be praised or cheered.

You can believe that somebody's death was a neccessary evil while still understanding that it was evil nontheless. I don't think it's acceptable how many people right now are cheering for others to die. The death of an evil person is just one more person who will never be able to better themself.

I'm just begging people to research things like the French Revolution where the need for justice was turned into a desire for violence and nothing more. I'm asking you to wonder where it ends. Every CEO can be replaced by one with better security. Every politician can be replaced by one with more extreme policies to keep you in line. Your neighbor who works at an insurance company can be replaced by the boss, but her kids will never see their mom again.

Isn't that serious? Isn't that a big deal? Or will your 'great revolution' be carried out without fail, only hurting those with power that truly deserve it? Once all the big bads are gone, who'll replace them? Just another one of their buddies. Unless you take complete control so you and YOUR buddies get to make the unethical decisions! I mean, you've already killed several people to get here, might as well keep killing anyone who threatens your power! Oh- but you'd never do that. You're one of the good people! You've proven your goodness by salivating over the idea of waving a politician's head on a stick! Good people never look for peaceful solutions!

Empathy is just... gone it seems. People who disapprove of violence or question the helpfullness of this 'street justice' aren't thoughtfully debated, they're called 'bootlickers' and 'facists' and told to kill themselves.

You can believe that a system is corrupt and needs reworking without murder being your first choice! Murder should be the last choice! Maybe if you care about a system being changed you should research the system and attack it in ways that won't get people killed.

Stop cheering for murder!

(Oh, and don't bother ranting at me in the comments. I wrote the rant for you to save you the time:)

"Well as an [insert oppressed group here] what you're saying is actually really harmful due to the damage that these bad people cause the world. You don't understand the painful lives people live that make killing other human beings morally justifiable. I'm going to argue that killing people is okay, even though your original argument is towards the mindset of cheering evil acts like murder and thinking of oneself as a hero who can never make evil decisions rather than towards the neccessity of said evil actions. Some people laugh about murder to cope, you abelist! And you're also a hypocrite because you're totally okay with gay disabled people being murdered despite never saying anything that would imply being okay with that! I will continue to project my own beliefs onto you, turning you into a villain until I am pleased with the thought of your violent death! There is nothing wrong with me and I don't need to work through these issues rather than spread them online! I don't know you, but I hate you! Kill yourself, you facist!"

Seriously I could not care less what you comment. If your argument is that murder is good and people should be killed without trial and that I am somehow a bad person for questioning the morals of your belief, then... your opinion kind of means nothing to me..
