“Because to influence a person is to give him one’s own soul. He does not think his natural thoughts, or burn with his natural passions. His virtues are not real to him. His sins, if there are such things as sins, are borrowed. He becomes an echo of some one else’s music, an actor of a part that has not been written for him.”
— Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray
I love light academia because it's such a twist on reality. It's like living like everyone else lives but in a more exciting way. You care about details, you perform mundane tasks with such passion, you read books like there's no Tomorrow. It's almost as if there's this imaginary parallel universe that you're transported to once you're into the light academia Aesthetics.
