I can't fathom how utterly selfish you have to be to get rid of an animal's needed function to survive comfortably just because, "I don't want my house to be ruined." This should be considered animal abuse and I'm so glad people are now bringing light to this.
I legit can’t fathom why declawing is still legal. Why is it still legal to amputate part of an animal’s toes just because humans get annoyed with a natural behavior that is so deeply ingrained that it continues even after they’re removed? Declawing causes chronic pain, behavior issues, and disrupts natural behaviors. And because someone always gives the “hurr durr but what if there’s a medical reason” let me explain. Declawing is NOT the same as a toe amputation. Banning declawing doesn’t ban toe amputations. Declawing is an elective procedure that removes all the front (and sometimes all the back) distal most part of the toes. Toe amputations remove diseased tissue/bone. There’s a huge difference between taking off a toe (or toes) because they’re growing a tumor and amputating bones for human convenience.
Me: Yeah, I don't really understand how people develop celebrity crushes like they can't even acknowledge that you exis-
Also me when Hozier: I love you so much, I'd do anything for you, let us move into an old house in the middle of the woods where we care for the woodland creatures and fae whilst we sing together in harmony and explore the places that nature has reclaimed and did I mention that I love you so much and that you're just perfect in every way?

Video description and transcription:
Tiktok by Tyler from Fig (tylerandhistummy)
[Tyler faces the camera and speaks to it.]
If this video helps even one person, it was worth it.
So, I've got a ton of ingredients that my body reacts to: corn, citric acid, gluten, chocolate, bananas, peanut oil--I'm all over the place.
It was so hard to read ingredient labels and just find food that I could eat. Grocery trips were unbearable, they took like two or three hours usually.
But I always had this idea on how to make it easier. So I quit my job and helped build an app over the past few years. And that app's called Fig.
[A phone screen showing the app interface, which Tyler scrolls through. Top text reads: "First up: Do you follow any of these diets? Dietary restrictions are complex - it's ok to select more than one!" Underneath is a checklist of ingredients and dietary restriction, including categories with suboptions.]
What makes fig unique is we're trying to help pretty much everybody that has to avoid certain ingredients.
That means we've got a ton of things that you can select from--even really specific ingredients.
[Camera briefly returns to Tyler's face again.]
And like I had dreamed of for so many years, checking ingredients is as quick as this.
[A phone camera scans the barcode on a bottle of spices. Details about the product appear, including an ingredients list and allergen statement. The ingredient "citric acid" appears in red all-caps. There is also an accompanying message that says "This product does not match your Fig."]
And finding food you can eat is as simple as this.
[The app displays a scrollable list of food items, similar to a storefront. Each item has a save toggle and is accompanied by a photo, the product brand/name, and its size. There is a search bar labeled "search for a product." There are also menus for narrowing the search; one is set to "allowed," one is set to "Whole Foods," and another unaltered menu is titled "Category."]
[The camera returns to Tyler.]
So if you know anybody with food allergies, stomach issues, other dietary restrictions, I'd really appreciate it if you shared it with them.
[The appstore listing for Fig: Food Scanner & Discovery.]
It's called Fig, it's completely free, and you can get it on iOS and Android in the US.
[Tyler smiles at the camera.]
Thanks for helping out.
A Thing:
-many disabilities are worsened or triggered into flares by stress
-stress often occurs when other people are counting on you and there's a crunch to get things done
-employers regularly understaff, creating constant dependency on particular people and creating unneeded crunches
-disabled people become "unreliable" and "unhireable" because they have disabilities and cannot safely deal with the mandatory crunches
-on top of that, the crunches give previously abled people disabilities, shunting them into "unhireable"
-dismantle capitalism and care for your community members
Images that make you enter a fugue state
everyday, I wake up, and my first thought; "Will I ever love other music artists as I love Hozier?

Loving men is fun and good actually. Men can be soft and wonderful and caring and kind. My boyfriend has actually improved my life and I don’t get why I would feel bad for that. If I see any fellow bisexuals pull the whole “too bad I have my (yuck) boyfriend when I could have a good woman :((“ bs one more time I will scream.
Men are hot, they’re handsome, they’re pretty, they’re wonderful. They’re spectacular, they’re soft, they’re caring, they’re silly, their laughs are like music. Men give some of the warmest hugs, and the best snuggles. This goes for ALL men - yes, even the “fat” man you saw, even the punk guy with the tattoos and piercings, and men of color. Men are WONDERFUL. Men aren’t inherently violent, dangerous, angry animals. Can we please stop vilifying men and men who love men please?
stardew valley culture is making multiple saves just so you can marry your many villager crushes while not hurting their feelings by divorcing them.
