My favorite part of Rose of Versailles is when Oscar’s dad decides that his extremely gnc and queer daughter who he raised as a man because he wanted an heir should live like a Real Woman now, and throws a ball of all male suitors to try to get her married off.

And Oscar shows up in full military uniform and is like ‘this party SUCKS where are all the ladies’ and just fucking leaves.

A rite of passage for all trans women.

This should go without saying as well but, womens issues is not fully encapsulated in this comic. Its a light hearted way to talk about it, but it is infinitely more nuanced, systemic, and difficult to discuss than a 10 panel mini comic will allow.

Women are more than these problems, and these problems are not all that women face.
