That nonsexual intimacy of just being in each other's spaces, of gravitating towards each other, always subconsciously reaching out to each other. Finding comfort and satisfaction in being close to each other, breathing each other in, existing together.
I hope he knows what flowers he wants at his funeral
A cozy place like this 🧺
“I sit at home, not sad, not happy, not myself, or anyone else.”
— Mahmoud Darwish, from I Sit at Home; Almond Blossoms and Beyond (tr. by Mohammad Shaheen)
“When you are with me, I do not say: here and now we are together. Rather, I say: You and I and eternity, we swim in nowhere.”
— Mahmoud Darwish, from When You Are With Me; Almond Blossoms and Beyond (tr. by Mohammad Shaheen)
The devil was soundly defeated at the cross of Calvary—and that is something he doesn't want us to know. Through His death, Jesus destroyed the one who had the power of death, which is the devil. And when we put our faith in Jesus Christ, the stranglehold of Satan over our lives is broken. He cannot control us. He has no authority over us. We can rest in the finished work of Christ.
This means that when we face spiritual battles, we are not fighting for victory; we are fighting from it. We don't fight to get victory. We fight because it has already been obtained. Romans 8:37 tells us, "Despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ." Hallelujah!
I may be a tiny speck of light In the cosmos. But I was not without purpose.
