Something about the canon i can't handle is that bulshit about the distrust upong Remus. It really piss me off that friendship doesn't mean anything for Rowling. First and Foremost, let me say that I’m literally saying this as a Ben and Devi shipper...

I don’t understand why people think that Paxton is embarrassed to date Devi.

Shira runs in his circle but dated Ben?? And it’s implied that Devi and Ben are like the gender-swapped versions of each other. 

So if Shira dated Ben publicly, why wouldn’t Paxton, who’s 20x better than her as a person date Devi publicly.

Since season 1, Paxton’s been affectionate with her publicly.

This season, he didn't want it to be public because he didn’t want to be hurt and humiliated again. She cheated on him and kinda is seen as responsible for him losing his scholarship.

If that was me, I would have raged.

But he was still publicly her friend, even after. When romance came back into the picture, of course he would be wary of being hurt.

But he pulled through in the end.
