Hello hello, not to just appear randomly but I AM very interested in your interpretation of ABW Emma May 👀 if you want… to ramble…

ok so basically im gonna explain the og timeline first so that i can like. define where the paths diverged into abw. emma may and fidds met when they were younger (about 1960 or so?). they were really good friends and all. fidds transitioned(1968), theyre still good cause em is supportive and all that. so now because its a boy and a girl people were like “relationship when?” and because fidds liked guys and em just. wasnt that interested in marriage in general. they were like “okay then. we can pretend we’re dating. thats fine.” so they did because they thought it would be the most simple way out of it. and then they runaway to college together (1972). fidds meets stanford, em probably kisses a few girls, idk. and then after college they got married (1977). now fidds actually wanted to have a kid. even outside of the whole religious and general societal pressures. and em was fine with that. this won’t make things complicated at all whatsoever. so they have tate. everything is going perfectly fine. 

and then that phone call happened (1980)

so fidds leaves. em is now in california with tate. fidds says he’ll be back soon. and about 2 years later is when it diverges. in the og timeline, fidds just doesnt come back. he gives a phone call, but its all cryptic and like. horrifying. so they divorce. the problem was less that he was out with stanford. that wasnt the issue. it was that he just left her behind entirely to deal with a kid that he wanted in the first place. so then they divorce. mostly to keep tate safe. even though that backfires completely and he leaves to go after fidds anyways (2002) which is an entirely different can of worms that i will also yap about if anyone wants me to.. HOWEVER. in abw, fidds calls em after the portal is called off. he has clearer communication and basically says “hey we called off the project because it was super dangerous. but i wanna stay in gravity falls with stanford and we’re gonna do really big things and have a bunch of money” so they work out a situation. em and tate move to oregon, theyre still married. they stay best friends. tate has both parents (including an extra dad lmao) and everyone is happy for the most part. em is actually pretty interested in the work that fidds and stanford do, so she visits sometimes to just watch what goes on and listen to fidds ramble on about it for a while, which is what was depicted in the fiddtober drawing. tldr; abw em doesnt divorce fidds. moves to oregon. supports him and stanford.  everyone happy. 

the stan twins watch spongebob. a lot. as grown ass men, in fact. theyve both added "dirty barnacles" and "fish paste" to their vocabulary of "swear" words. it feels like every ten seconds theyre on the boat one of them goes "...you know whats funnier than 24?"

i saw @babyblankyerror and @aroace-get-out-of-my-face science time with dr pine au and was like “haha isn’t it funny that stan is a puppeteer in one au and a puppet in another” and so i made this.

i think it’s paranoia for both of them, just for different reasons.

thinking of sea grunks again theyre both pathological liars (thanks caryn) so whenever they start talking to other people in the places they go the lying just ricochets between the two of them and by the end theyve both created a completely fabricated story about where they're from, where they're going, who they are, and literally everything. and its never the same story. afterwards they're just like "....what even was that??" and go on like nothing happened.

guys im gonna write a sea grunks thing. like an actually oneshot little baby writing thing. i havent written in like a year but you know what we say? fuck it we baaallllllll

guys im so sorry for posting angst on fiddleford friday but like... i have to talk about this can you imagine how stressful weirdmageddon was for him?? like dude. it would be like 15x as bad as during the construction of the portal. the entire town was counting on him to build this robot. not only does that include ford but probably most importantly tate. if he failed then his best friend and his kid would be trapped in stone forever, or destroyed, or whatever bill was going to do to them. and he wouldnt even get the chance to say goodbye or make up for his previous mistakes. if he was quintuple checking his equations for the portal, then imagine how many times he checked his equations when building the shack-a-tron. its also a really horrible loop because working on the thing made him stressed out about messing up, but building is also kind of his coping mechanism, so he builds to cope while stressing himself out even more. dude. give this man a hug. he should get a hug.
