Jeremy is trying so desperately to claw his way out of the hole his family has thrown him in, all the while his lifeline was cut, there is nothing to hold onto.

And yet, when it comes to his friends trying to climb through their struggles, he gives them tips and footholds, explains how to hold your weight without losing your grip because maybe he cant climb any higher, but they still are tethered to the top, to a bright future beyond all of this, so he smiles and hides the frayed, broken bits that are left of his lifeline, hoping to watch them make it to the top, knowing he wont.

Jean spent years at the bottom, unmoving, not knowing how to climb out, not willing to try. He never had a lifeline to begin with and the steep walls were an impossible feat. But Neil threw him a lifeline and he unwilling tangled into it, eventually realizing he can get out he can be free. And of course he notices the bright sunshine child, the man that radiates in the dark and he will linger as long as it takes for him to make him understand that they can do it together. Jeremy can latch into Jeans lifeline and they can climb out together. With Jeremys experience and Jeans unending determination, they can carve a future into a world that was against them.

what if when jean finds out about jeremy’s mother withholding his documents, the first thing he does is go and confront jeremy about it? “why did I not know before? I am your partner! why didn’t you tell me?”

he’s overrun by a sense of betrayal and that feeling is very quickly met head-on with jeremy’s own guilt, but also every other intense feeling that comes with knowing that your future isn’t really yours to have.

and this is how they have their first real, heated argument. getting in each other’s faces, one to demand answers because seriously how could jeremy not tell him? and the other to finally let their heart bleed out with things like “what would it matter? what could you change, jean? I don’t have a choice—“

and this is how we get jeremy crying in front of jean for the first time. they’re both hot with emotion and jeremy’s face is flushed while his hands shake and he just starts sobbing. and jean is so taken aback that all he can do is go quiet and stare.

jeremy’s eyes look almost black through his tears and jean listens as jeremy breaks down, spouting out every awful thought that’s been plaguing him all these months. how he doesn’t have a choice about law school, about how he doesn’t have a choice— he has to stay at home where they don’t love him.

jeremy breaks so sharply that jean can almost hear the jagged pieces of his heart as jeremy crumbles in on himself, and he doesn’t even think before he’s back in jeremy’s space again.

this is how we get jean hugging jeremy for the first time. he pulls jeremy close until jeremy has no choice but to cry into his shirt, and jean holds onto jeremy tighter than he ever has anything else in his life. he lets him cry, his own thoughts and emotions a tornado.

how quickly jean’s heart goes from “how could he not tell me?” to “what can I do?”

because he can’t leave jeremy alone in that darkness now— not knowing how deep it goes. he can’t let go of this sunshine man who has pulled him out of his own hell again and again.

jean can’t. he won’t. so what can he do—?

How I see it is that they do care for their son, they love him but they dont have a relationship with him. When he woke up from dying, his mother was panicking and he ignored her to check on Ashlyn, a girl hes know for what, 3 months if that. He was more concernedfor a friend he barely knows than he was about seeing his parents. Again at the hospital, she called for them to leave and he ignores her. Even when he wakes up after passing out, he doesn't reall pay attention to them, focused on Ashlyn blaming herself and bullying Tyler. I think he cares for his parents sure but how can you have a relationship with someone who is never around. Then his father seems barely present when he is there (in my opinion at least). The scene that really pisses me off is when they compare their son and other children being in life or death situations nightly to a mix up at work. Obviously they are privileged people, nothing wrong with that, but how can you be so sheltered from reality that all you can compare death to is extra paper prints? It hints that Aiden may have depression or at least felt incredibly lonely, they never noticed that. You cannot convince me they picked up on his emotional needs because they said things like "he used to be a quiet kid" and never questioned if he was okay. They may not be intentionally hurting him, but they are bad parents. That and Jessica just annoys me. I just think they are ignorant and believe that because Aiden has a "good" home that he doesnt have problems. They provide food and shelter and money, what else could a child need? One thing I think is important to keep in mind, why would Red write it out like this if it was not supposed to be delved into, there is no point in making them look bad if they are truly good parents. Why hint at these things if thats not whats going on in the background? Its obvious they have a rough relationship, and I think that comes from them probably not expecting to have had a child and being emotionally immature. I dont necessarily think its their fault or blame them, they are probably genuinely doing their best, but just dont stop to think of Aiden individually. 🤷‍♀️ I digress

am I the only one who thinks Aiden’s parents were nicer than people think?

Disclaimer: this probably makes no sense because I made this sleep-deprived but still wanted to post it

I’ve seen and read a lot of fics, posts, etc. about Aiden’s parents being neglectful, rude, or forcing etiquette onto Aiden but there’s no way I’m the only one who thinks otherwise.

In (S2) Ep. 61, we see a glimpse of Aiden’s ‘childhood’ of him as a child curled up on the bed in a messy room. This scene just made me think overall that Daniel and Jessica can try their best as parents but overall, they have horrible parenting skills.

In the same episode, we see how much they care for Aiden. Daniel and Jessica begin to panic when Aiden starts seizing and you can see it plain on their faces.

They’re both reaching out to him and maybe it’s because they’re his son so their brain automatically creates this worry but they wouldn’t be like this if they didn’t care.

But in the next episode, we can see that Daniel is sitting on the couch while watching over Aiden who is sleeping. He’s clearly worried for his son and no one can make me think otherwise, that one panel is everything to me.

Even at the hospital, once Taylor starts shouting at them and they see the phantoms out the window, Jessica wants to leave with Aiden. Might be a small detail but I’m gonna use it for my argument (I don’t know if that’s the right word).

When we see younger Aiden who seems expressionless in the family photo, I think it would be safe to assume he was forced into that position, right? In my opinion, it could’ve just been him wanting to make his parents proud rather than being forced, or I think this case would be half-forced.

In episode 78, Daniel and Jessica’s first concern is the state of their son who is passed out and is aware that he died in the phantom dimension (which they are in), they would be pretty worried. They rather hear an explanation for Aiden’s state than how or why they are also stuck in the dimension.

Looking further into Daniel and Jessica’s parenting skills or issues, they probably haven’t seen the issue or fault in their parenting. They allowed Aiden freedom by giving him allowance, letting him dye his hair at a young age (guessing around grade 7 or 8), and letting him get red eye contacts.

But at the same time, they’re barely there. I think parents assume kids are fine or overreacting when seeing them in a state of deep sadness and they must’ve gone through the same thinking process.

In the end, I think Jessica and Daniel love Aiden very much. No one can change my mind.

No one can tell me they abuse him, insult him—he literally has the same eyes as his father— or I don’t know what anyone else has said.

Daniel and Jessica love Aiden they just need to up their parenting skills or needed to.

I was rereading SBG and in chapter 39, Aiden says "you seem like the type of person to only get close to those who are special to you, and I dont know how to go about that" (paraphrased)

This man is literally telling her, TO HER FACE that he wants to be someone special to her. He is so clueless when it comes to emotional interactions and just relationships in general. He doesnt know what it is to truly have a friend, and he seems scared of messing it up. He blames himself for her getting hurt and he admits he was the problem and apologizes. He basically tells her 'I care about you and I want us to be close but I have no idea what Im doing, help me to be someone to you, help me learn how to be someone for you'

AHHHH Im probably reading too much into this but as someone who didnt have friends until I was like 14, I know how easy it is to desperately cling to someone and hope with everything in your heart that they care as much as you do. He definitely seems to be doing that here and it makes my heart hurt 😭

Imagine being Ben in episode 60. Like being trapped in a crumbling building covering his friend who they all just unkebabed from a tree.

And then over to the doorway Ben hear his cousin say "Oh shoot" as he watches as the ceiling crushes him. Like I feel like we don't tall about this enough, but Ben watched Aiden die and he couldn't move because he was covering Tyler.

Like he watched the cousin who took him in and welcome him into his home die. The cousin that helped him calm down whenever he felt himself get angry. The cousin who was always there for him, always smiling, joking and talking to him. And he just watched him die. He heard the ceiling fall, he heard the crunch of the ceiling crushing Aiden's head. He heard and saw it all and there was nothing he could do but watch Ashlyn and Taylor drag his limp body under a table and watch them cover him.

I’m going to casually drop this here and pretend I’m not embarrassed with myself 😅 I wrote a Kevaaron fic that is VERY sexual, anyway!

it’s the only one where Tanner has such a cool mentor, even if he’s rough around the edges.

and the only one where Kevin doesn’t have to live as the only member of the perfect court.

it’s the only one where Renee gives up her cross to a friend as a string of faith.

plus the only one that Rhemann is seen as a father and not just a coach.

I wanted to see this so bad, I so desperately wanted Andrews pov because to him, suddenly Neil was telling him it was all worth it out of the blue. I expected anger and rage, we know he got violent (poor kevin 😅) but the fear was not expected, he spent so long denying it was anything at all then when he thought he lost him, he so desperately needed him back. 🥲

omg?? ive seen some people post about this before but reading it on my own is just another feeling like he was freaking out after neil got kidnapped and it hurts to read but also omg

I am currently laying in bed with a fever unable to sleep and Jerejean is haunting my brain...

I can play this lil scene in my head where Jean has been kinda off all day. Flinching away from everyone, hesitant to look anyone in the eyes, nearly shoved Jeremy to the ground because he accidentally snuck up beside him. After they get home Jean goes straight for his room, not bothering to turn on the light, he just hides away behind a mostly closed door. Jeremy notices the crack letting a little light in and takes it as an invitation. 'He cant really want to be alone if he didnt lock us out, maybe I can do something' so Jeremy creaks the door open and Jeans sitting on the floor, back against the bed with his head on his knees.

"Do you want to talk about it?" He doesnt respond "I cant help if I dont know the problem." He stirs a bit at this but doesnt move.

"This. You, the girls, I dont know how much i can handle" Jeremy barely hears him, he doesnt ever actaully open up, not fully. The panic sets in because Jeremy cannot mess up this opportunity, hes letting him help. But he doesnt understand what he means, so he walks over and sits across from him.

"What did we do wrong, so we can fix it. The last thing we want is to hurt you"

"Thats it, you haven't. I keep waiting for the other foot to drop, for someone to snap. I am Jean Moreau, I have never had...this. Kindness, the feeling of being..."

"Loved. Jean you are loved. By me, by Cat and Laila and Kevin. The pretty girl in the picture and I'm sure so many more. I know that must be terrifying given what you have endured, but that doesn't mean its bad. We will teach you how to be loved." Jeremy reaches out to him, gently making him look up. "You are going to be okay. Maybe not now, but one day" Jean looks up at him with tear filled eyes, so close to breaking. Unable to think of any other proof he could give him, he gives him a soft kiss on top of his head. Jeremy doesnt miss the jagged breath Jean takes and for a moment he thinks he messed up, but in the quietest voice hes ever heard from him, Jean asks "again?" So he does, he kisses his forehead, then his temple, his cheek, the other cheek, then he pulls his hands up and litters kisses over the scars on his knuckles.

"You are Jean Moreau" another kiss to his left hand "and you do not have to be scared." He leans forward and kisses his nose, "You are my Partner," the scar on his eyebrow, "you are Cat and Laila's roommate," The tears fall, "you are not a raven," he kisses those away, "and you are not what they did to you." Holding his face in his hands Jeremy makes him look him in the eye, "You are Jean Moreau and you deserve to be loved." To this, he lets it all out, breaking into a silent sob and he wraps himself around Jeremy, so he pulls him closer, puts a hand in his hair and whispers "I got you" over and over until he falls asleep.

I don't even know of this would be in character, I am not lying when I say I am delusionally sick, but I really hope we get another, more in depth moment of Jeremy conforming Jean (or vice versa 👀) 19 was a rough age for me and I didnt go through a quarter of the truama he did, he honestly needs so many more hugs.

Andreil is still on my brain

After they've both gone professional, they've been separated for at least a month, but todays the day Neil goes to pick Andrew up from the airport. Neils been scanning the crowd for the last 20 mins, looking for that familiar blonde hair among dozens of people. Then he spots him, facing the other direction with a suitcase in one hand. Neil can't help but stare for a moment, taking in the broadness of his shoulders in his tight shirt, the thickness of his arms, the black armbands in their usual place. Neil pulls out his phone and texts him a 'yes or no'. He watches as Andrew looks down at his phone, then glances up looking around, not noticing him yet. Then he looks back down and Neil feels his phone vibrate, seeing a 'yes?' In response. Neil all but sprints, Andrew turning to him last second before Neil lifts him up into a hug, squeezing him to his chest. Panic floods Andrew for a second before he lets excitment take over, hugging him back. Andrew grips him tightly around his neck, burying his face in the cloth of his hoodie, taking in his smell, cigarette smoke and black coffee. He can feel Neil smile against his neck. Neil squeezes him once more before lowering him to the ground, loosening his grip to put a few inches between them. Andrew glares up at him, the smallest trace of a smile on his lips.

"115%" Andrew grumbles out.

"I'm okay with that." Neil says, looking down at his lips. Andrew doesn't hesitate, kissing him without a care for who might be watching. Neil melts into the kiss, placing his hands in Andrews hair. A moment later they break away.

"Welcome home, Drew." Neil stares down at him, that glint in his eyes and Andrew decides maybe he can look at him like that, just this once.
