A Litany For Survival: The Life And Work Of Audre Lorde (1996) Dir. By Ada Gay Griffin And Michelle

Audre Lorde stands at a podium accepting her award and appointment as State Poet of New York for 1991-1993. She is dressed formally in a colorful tunic. As she addresses her audience, she begins, "I've been asking myself, 'What does it mean to be a poet in a country where more money per minute, every minute, is spent on armaments"

She continues, "I've been asking myself, 'and we are supposed to be at peace, than is spent to feed the starving children in this country, never mind in the world?'"

I literally do not care what the Bible says about any political issue. I am not Christian. Christian scripture should have zero effect on my life or my personal freedoms.

Please Do Your Part To End This Genocide. Please Do Your Part To End This Occupation. Please Don’t

please do your part to end this genocide. please do your part to end this occupation. please don’t stop speaking up. palestine is no longer trending on here and i can see a steady decline in people interacting with posts as well.

please don’t forget that this isn’t a trend. these are people’s lives. this is about their rights. their freedom.

please keep speaking up. please remind everyone that it’s not over. that isn’t not the new normal. that this isn’t something we should just accept

this is unacceptable. please speak up against it. 10569 killed not counting the missing people under the rubble is a huge number. heck, even 569 would be huge. this is genocide. please speak up. please voice out.

donations are not helping them right now. but your voices will. your voices will amplify the voices of the palestinians being shut down by biased western media and propaganda. please keep speaking up on their behalf.

ways you can help

"...you Can’t Solve The Problem Apart From The Problem. You Can’t Be Liberated From Male Chauvinism

"...you can’t solve the problem apart from the problem. You can’t be liberated from male chauvinism if you don’t even deal with it--if you run away from it. And I think forming any separate organization with that in mind is negating or contradicting what you’re setting out to do...simply because of the fact that we are members of the Black Panther Party and are therefore in the vanguard, does not necessarily mean that we can deem ourselves champions of women’s liberation. We believe that male chauvinism must be stomped out, because we have come to realize that it is bourgeois... whether or not we will become champions of women’s liberation, whether or not we’ll be able to provide the example to lead other organizations towards women’s liberation will come thru our practice."

A Palestinian woman and her husband were arrested over her WhatsApp status that said and I quote

“May God grant them victory and protect them.”

The woman in question is a Palestinian woman with Israeli citizenship, her husband was arrested as well for “inciting terrorism” and they “investigated her involvement in the terrorist group.”

This absolutely is an invasion of freedom of speech, if you claim to be pro freedom of speech but yet don't say anything about this couple, you only care when freedom of speech applies to you.

This is an invasion of freedom of speech and fascism.
