therapist: the semihemidemisemiquaver isn’t real, it can’t hurt you
the semihemidemisemiquaver:
you are not you.
and yet i still see you.
i see the wings beneath your clothes, rustling and trying to get used to being so small.
i see the horns beneath your hair, threatening to grow and point towards the skies like they did before.
i see the claws beneath your nails, wanting to poke free and scratch at the bark of the nearest tree.
i see the pads on your hands, soft and invisible, waiting to touch the snow of tundras again.
you are not you.
and yet i still see you.
a concerning amount of people forget agent 3 is a dj
me holding a gun to a mushroom: tell me the name of god you fungal piece of shit
mushroom: can you feel your heart burning? can you feel the struggle within? the fear within me is beyond anything your soul can make. you cannot kill me in a way that matters
me cocking the gun, tears streaming down my face: I’M NOT FUCKING SCARED OF YOU

With its powerful jaws and sharp teeth, the California sheephead is an incredible fish that can cut through the mightiest sea urchins and protect kelp forests!
Did we mention they also sleep in a mucus cocoon at night? 👀
the light of day curses me with the ability to view my own appearance

Our interview series about practical tactics to keep yourself and your community safe from the rising tide of fascism continues this week as Josh talks with maia arson crimew (it/she), a hacktivist and past guest on the show. Topics include:
The mechanics of how corporations and governments identify and track you across virtual and real-world spaces
Common ways that your devices give away information without your knowledge and how to disable those features
What encryption is and why it matters, especially when it comes to law enforcement
Tools that you can use to anonymize your usage online
also, don't go running around if you don't know the terrain is safe. falling is bad, and falling on something sharp or poisonous is worse. and even when you know there's no slopes, pits, or brambles ahead, still keep an eye on the ground. it's really easy to get caught on a root and sprain your ankle.
at the near spring and summer I'd like to remind y'all something: be careful when you go out in the woods. it means:
don't eat or touch any unfamiliar berries and mushrooms – take someone who knows or use guides. its always more interesting to explore together or play a scientist!
collect bones and feathers through a plastic bag and be sure to disinfect or boil it when you'll get home – various germs can survive even a rough winter inside of it.
you found a nest or den? oh it has cubs? great! watch and take photos from a big distance and take care to not disturb the animals! and i greatly beg – do not collect cubs or animals. the cubs are usually not as alone as you see, and if you see a wounded animal then call to rehab. you won't be able to raise or properly care for an one.
take a snack and a drink – eating things from the ground and drinking unboiled water is dangerous.
always have someone with you or at least tell someone where you are going – various dangers lurk in the woods.
